With that ownership at the helm, you know your bar grub is going to be good. They have a variety of Daily Specials, or you can order from the regular menu. I visited on a Friday and took advantage of the 8 oz Filet Special. It came with a side salad and 1 side. I choose Blue Cheese Dressing and Crinkle Fries as my side. The filet was super tender and they cooked it to a perfect medium rare. Only negative thing, I thought the dressing was thin and had no flavor for a Bleu Cheese. Service was just okay, the server/bartender took awhile to get to me and her check ins were sporadic. When I had an interchange with her, she was friendly and good. She just seemed to focus on other guests that she knew, better then myself being a first timer. Location is out of the way for me, but for those who live out in the boondocks, it is a great pub. Glad I experienced it and I just may be back for a burger or wings.

The service at times can get slow, but just be patient and your drink will be strong. It's slow because the bartender is too friendly and attentive to all guest, regulars and new. So, is that really a bad thing. The ambiance is something to behold, so go check it out. They have a terrace or deck depending on what you call it, making sitting outside on a beautiful day a perfect. Beware, there will be smokers out there, too. If you forgot your cash, or just running low, they've got you covered with a ATM machine. There's no food, TBBS is a drinking establishment. If you are hungry, go explore Grafton and you'll find numerous places to satisfy your hunger pains.

There are several areas to drink and dine. The front room where the main bar is located, a back cellar room that is semi private for large groups, the middle room, which is right off of the kitchen. Then of course, there's the patio for relaxing when weather permits. My first visit I enjoyed a Espresso Martini and their, Italian Stallion Dip. The Dip was outstanding. It was all the fixings of an Italian sandwich chopped up, served in martini glass and toasted baguettes. I should have paired it with their Bloody Mary or a Dirty Martini. The Espresso Martini was good, but it really did not go well with the dip. They have an umbrella hanging upside down from the ceiling in the middle room. You're supposed to toss money into it for charity. At the end of the month, they'll donate to a local organization. This month it is, The Grafton Food Pantry. The staff is friendly and attentive. While I was there, it was a little loud, due to the fact that there were two parties of large groups having fun. If you want to spend the weekend in Grafton, Boarding House Bistro does have a couple of suites available for rent. It would make for a nice stay-cation. ` If you're lucky, the pet Hippos will be out on the patio next door. They're really not hippos, that's just what the sign says. They're cute Bulldogs. I think Boarding House Bistro is going to become one of my favorite haunts in Grafton.

As my typical routine, I found a space at the end of the bar. I was greeted gruffly by the bartender, which took me off-guard. Don't worry, she finally loosened up and got friendlier. The menu is short, which proves to me, they focus on what they do best. I was torn between their Pork Tenderloin and the DJ Burger. Bartender said, they were both popular, but once she told me the DJ had fried Banana Peppers and Pepper Jack Cheese, I was sold. I chose fries as my side. Being a fan of Onion Rings/Straws, I enjoyed an order as my appetizer. OMG! Their straws in my opinion really weren't straws. They were more like super thin onion rings and they were the bomb. The bread was crisp and the peppery seasoning is what won my tastebuds over. The DJ Burger was equally as good. It was a hand pressed patty, simply seasoned with salt and pepper, the fried Banana Peppers had a light breading coating them and the piece of Pepper Jack Cheese covered the entire burger. The accompanying fries were long, skinny and crisp. The food runner from the kitchen who delivered my food was bubbly and friendly. I didn't experience the salad and soup bar, but lots of the diners around me, were taking advantage of it. Before I left, I went to the other room to take a peek, but it was already closed down for lunch. I'll be sure to check it out next time. DJ's was almost a 5 Star Dive Bar, but they had Fox News on and that lost them the extra star.

There is no sign outside the older 70's style building that stands behind the Goodwill and near the Salvation Army resale store but the waitress stepped outside to help us find it. They are promoting themselves as, "A female owned space where women can let their hair down and have fun...We've got your back." They're promoting a safe place for ladies to have fun and not have to go it alone when feeling uncomfortable. The entire crew will have your back. It's a safe place. I met two female friends here for Happy Hour this past Friday. I thought I'd arrive early to secure a table, when I did the bar was already packed and it was just 5PM. I was greeted by a male bartender, who poured a good and refreshing Tito's with Seltzer. Pricing for a call brand was cheap. Not sure if it was a HH deal or not. I'll update that on next visit. The best way to describe, Catdaddy's is that it is an upscale dive bar. Its crowd was a good mix of ages, sexes and diversity. We were still there during the bartender change and the young lady who came on duty was also, attentive and friendly. There's no full kitchen, but they do offer bar pizzas, if you need a nosh to cut the liquor. I had fun, so I know I'll be back.
