Cheap, good food, and great vibes! My husband and I finished date night with food and drinks at Fast Eddies. This place is normally packed on the weekends especially when the weather is nice. I'm guess because it was later in the evening when we went they weren't as crowded. There's always live music playing, someone celebrating their 21st birthday and good vibes. Staff was friendly, welcoming and made sure we were doing good the entire time we were there. Ordering food is all self service at the food station. You place your order then wait for your number to be called. They sell burgers, chicken on a stick, steak on a stick, chicken sandwiches, shrimp, and fries. Your food is up pretty quick. We ordered burgers, fries, chick on a stick, big Elwood and shrimp. We also ordered two long islands and a beer. All in all we spent about $60. The food was delicious, seasoned well and plentiful. I came all the way from Idaho, and one of the main reasons for my trip was to eat at Fast Eddie's. I lived in Alton back in 1994 and ate there at least once a week -- it held great memories there. I brought my daughter, but we were turned away because there's no family section and she's under 21. Okay, I understood, no family section. But they also refused food 'to-go'. Came here on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. Food line was wrapped around the counter so we decided to not get anything to eat. Service was alright, drinks were good and reasonably priced. Even though it was crowded we found places to sit inside pretty easily, but outside is a lot more crowded. A classic! We came here on New Year's Day and it was such a fun way to ring in the new year. We posted up on the patio with some friends (it was covered and not cold) and had some drinks. If you haven't been to Fast Eddie's Bon Air, you've got to go. Being a Boomer, I prefer to go during the day or for Happy Hour. This is a stand in line, place your order, get your number and wait to be called to come back and get your food. In the meantime find your place to be, order and drink and pay. They take both cash and card but I suggest having cash to speed up the process. We ordered three cheese burgers, two baskets of fries and the steak in a stick. Was heavily advertised and livelier when the namesake founder was alive, but his family carries on the tradition with less drive. My parents were in town visiting and I thought it would be such a fun day trip to visit fast eddies! It was nice to visit during a weekday so that it was not too crowded. We arrived and found a table to sit at and then our server, Amanda, came over to take our drink orders. Of course, we all ordered a cold beer! My mom and I went up to the counter to place our food order and ordered a bunch of food for the table and then stopped to grab some popcorn on our way back to the table. I love that this place is a 21+ place. What I don't like is that it's cash only. They do have an ATM inside. I came here for a group event and felt immense pressure to buy more drinks than I wanted to. The waitress kept coming around asking if I wanted to buy another drink. I didn't really like that especially since at the time I was scaling back on my alcohol and food intake and really just wanted to enjoy the environment. The venue also has live music. Locals come here for the extremely cold beer, fairly priced food and the live music. Their prices are very fair and the music is always top notch. Again, very fairly priced and you can't go wrong with their burgers! They have multiple popcorn machines that are free for all to use. We were in town for a family event. Our grandfather had worked at the glass plant back in the day and stories were that everyone went to Fast Eddies to "cash"their check. For a Sunday afternoon it was packed indoors and in the outside area and the parking lot was packed with cool cars, Jeeps, motorcycles and trucks.
