Tasty food in a cool space! We visited on a Friday night and were immediately welcomed and seated. The server was friendly and helpful. Barstools were mostly taken, but plenty of seating was available nearby. The on-tap menu included some common local craft beers and AB products. A table tent promoted Fireball shots, so I knew the place wasn't stuffy! The cocktail menu leaned toward trendy-sweet concoctions, with Skrewball martinis and the like. Most were $8-12, which is very reasonable for this area. The whiskey menu actually included prices (which every bar should do!) it was a respectable list. Food portions are massive! A burger and sandwich were too tall to really bite into, but utterly delicious. I got through half of mine before requesting a box. Server only came to our order to take our drinks and when she brought them back took our food order. Someone else brought our food. Salad comes on a flat plate and easily falls off very messy. Just heads up. They pile the salad high, I got a small and it was plenty. Loaded fries were delicious. The biscuits and gravy had runny, unappetizing gravy and the eggs Benedict just looked like slop. Croissant edges were burnt and the whole thing was soggy. I honestly would've ordered something else, but I didn't have another 30-40 minutes to wait for another meal to arrive. Server never checked back once. $50 for that fail of a meal. Walked in and waited 10 minutes at the hostess stand. No one ever came by. Asked the bartender if there was a hostess was told to seat ourselves anywhere. Sat outside on the patio. Waited another 10 minutes. No one came by, went back in and asked if there was anyone working the outdoor seating. Someone eventually came by and dropped off menus. There were 3 of us and our order was a Chicago dog, a salad and a Mahi sandwich. The sandwich and salad took about a half hour to come out. Was told my Chicago dog would be a few minutes. The other two people were half through their meal by the time someone brought me out a plain hot dog. I asked if this was the Chicago dog. She says "well I guess I'll go back in and put some stuff on it". Another 10 minutes goes by and the very annoyed waitress drops off my Chicago dog. If you're wondering what "Greek fries" are, the best I can tell is plain fries with 3 or 4 shavings of Parmesan cheese. This place could be nice if the staff cared about anything. Tables next to us sat with dirty plates and uneaten food for the entire hour+ we were there. Seems like the customers are just an inconvenience for the staff. This is mostly a bar that has a pretty decent menu. As far as the bar goes, they have almost every liquor known to mankind behind the counter. Our waitress was very attentive, despite the fact that it was extraordinarily busy. The menu consist mostly of sandwiches and wraps, flatbreads and salads. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with a side of what they call "Greek"fries. This is french fries with Parmesan cheese, and garlic seasoning over the top of them. They are pretty good. My only complaint is that the portions of fries you get is fairly small considering my plate cost $14. She ordered a buffalo chicken wrap along with the Greek fries. We always share, so I tasted both. Both were delicious and came out hot and relatively quickly given the crowd that night. The set up in this restaurant is fairly narrow, but it is a really deep building. There is a lot of seating. The place gets pretty loud, at least in the front portion where we sat. They also have a pretty cool outside seating area, which would have been much more quiet, but we visited in the heat and humidity of an August evening. read more

Disappointed. Me and my companion wanted the Irish Stew. The server tells us they haven't served that in two years. So yes that means their menu is over two years old. I asked for the Stacked grilled cheese. Which means ham stuffed grilled cheese. To my surprise no ham. I tell our server. First visit and I was impressed. My dining partners were, too. We were a group of five celebrating the 34th anniversary of my 29th birthday. It was an early lunch and we choose to sit at a couple of high tops in the bar area. It soon became obvious, that it was a popular lunch location as the bar and the other tables filled up fast. Once we were seated, I shared my Yelp research with my friends and cousins. I told them the Fried Brussels Sprouts were on point and that they were also known for the Sweet Potato Tots. I must of been a good salesman, because we ordered both of them as our appetizers. All five of us raved about the Fried Brussels Sprouts. They were crispy and tossed in a red wine agrodolce. Then topped with both bacon bits and walnuts. I am not a fan of walnuts and I was even impressed with the flavor they added to the sprouts. They offered the tots in a small and large serving. We opted for the small, since we had sprouts and each of us would be having an entree. Small? It was still an ample serving for five adults to share. The tots were crisp on the outside and the inside was warm, soft and creamy. Being Sweet Potato, they were a nice twist to the regular tot. My entree as the Birthday Prince, was Smoke on the Water. It's listed on the menu as an appetizer, but I enjoyed it as an entree. It's dry rubbed and smoked chicken thighs. They were served on top of coleslaw and topped with white BBQ sauce. Absolutely delicious. I ate about two-thirds and took the other 1/3 home for a snack later. Two of the other guest enjoyed the, Wild Mushroom Flatbread and both of them cleaned their plates. The guest who ordered the Pulled Pork Sliders, enjoyed them, but after one, she pulled the meat out and left the buns. As I did with thighs, she really liked the seasoning and dressing on the coleslaw. The final diner celebrating my b-day, is a burger man and really liked his, Petite Foundry Burger with Fries. He's a big athletic type guy and couldn't imagine someone eating the full version as he was stuffed eating a petite. His burger had everything. It was made with house ground chuck and topped with bleu cheese steak butter, balsamic onions, cheddar cheese, bacon, bib lettuce, pickles and tomato. What more could you want on your burger. He claims his fries were crisp and a perfect side. Prior to this lunch, I did some shopping on Main St and still arrived early. While I waited for everyone else, I enjoyed one of their signature cocktails. It was the, Brown Sugar Old Fashioned. Being a regular drinker of Old Fashions, I truly enjoyed this flavorful twist on this classic cocktail. Side note - something I always check for and luckily they had them and that is, Hooks Under the Bar. Jackets or Purses, these hooks always come in handy. I was going out for my friends birthday and was told this would be a great spot. We get there and they had kept side eyeing my friend, who is in a wheel chair and is Native American, and I had asked why they were looking at them. They were not able to give a logical answer and just said, "I wasn't looking at him" (they are gender neutral so also loved that they assumed). We were shortly after told they were closing and we needed to leave and we were the only group asked to leave. We had mentioned this and they said they were going to ask the rest of the guests to leave. We were escorted out and everyone else was allowed to stay in. Not a single person in there was in a wheel chair besides my friend and they conveniently got different treatment and got kicked out? Needless to stay we stayed another 10 minutes and people kept flowing in and getting seated. These racist, ableist tools need to be brought down for what they did and need to be put on blast for not being accepting of everyone. read more

My friends and I went there for a drink and dinner before my friend left for a new job. We are all 22, the bartender took all of our IDs and said they were all fake. After this, my friends tried to get our REAL ids back and they said call the cops. So we did. And the cop came, scanned all of our IDs, told the bartender they were real, and the bartender wouldn't serve us still because we caused a "scene" for calling the cops like they suggested we do. Would not go here, all of the employees were rude as it happened for the reason I'm thinking is they are embarrassed they were wrong. read more

This place was good. I will explain more in a minute as to why it didn't get a full 5 stars. I went with my sister to this place the other day for lunch. We had my dog with us so we called ahead to see if they allowed dogs on the patio. They do, just as an fyi, outside only. It was a nice day, so we were happy with that. I got the mahi mahi po'boy and a pink lady. The drink was delicious. It was the right amount of sweet and tart for the drink. My sandwich was really good too. I was slightly disappointed by the size of the fish on the sandwich, but nothing too major. Our server was a little spacey. It took me asking twice to get a dog bowl with water. Well, we got the bowl with no water. I had to use my water to give him some. She never came by with a new cup for me or to refill the only cup we had. I think it got filled up once by the runner. Another thing that we saw, right in front of us, was that one of the tables she was serving was her mom and sister. No big deal family needs to see each other at some point and I don't mind that. However, at one point the sister got up for something and she sat down then took a drink from her mom's glass of liquid. I say liquid because I didn't know if it was alcoholic or not. Then, she got back up and started working again. Her mom said that she had a couple of rough days. Again, food and drinks were good. Totally worth the stars it has gotten. I saw all these amazing photos of the OG burger here on Yelp so we went to try them out! Very poor service, but I think this is a training issue / management issue honestly. Our server was frustrated the moment we sat down and huffed "I'll be back". After 30 minutes I went to the bar to get drinks...but the bar back had her come get our drink order. When she approached she offered no apology but rather said "it's been a very busy day for me"...we decided to wait it out for these delicious burgers. Meanwhile other tables are going inside to order and one table left leaving $$ for the drinks on the table because they were sick of waiting. finally the food comes - see photo of burger burger was cold, cheese wasn't even slightly melted and bun was not toasted. Loaded fries had cold toppings and were cool to the touch...My sons chicken strips were burnt to a crisp as well. The beer cheese app was straight out of a fridge cold. I let her know as she sat the food down (note close to 90 minutes after arriving!) that it was cold and that we did not want the food (rarely have I ever done this, but honestly, it was so gross). She walked off with a sigh and I was unsure of the next steps as by now we just want to leave and go find decent food! I went inside and see her crying by the bathroom & my heart is so broken for her. I approach her and let her know we'd like to go ahead and pay for the teas and she says "you can just leave" & by now she's bawling. I approached the bar tender and let her know she really needed some support & they let me know it was only her second night. Her second night and she's one of two servers for the whole place?! THIS is a management issue. I feel so bad for the server who shouldn't have been left to manage 1/2 the place with sections both inside & out on a holiday weekend. There was no manager on site.. I messaged the fb page prior to leaving review and they said they'd pass the info along to a manager and that this isn't typical, but where is the manager? We got a few different mixed drinks and they were very inconsistent. Some of them were very strong and some were watered down, but the mimosas were good and they are $12 bottomless on Saturdays! The food is pretty good, but the presentation is better than the taste in my opinion! It's very flavorful, just isn't the best around. One of my favorite places to grab a drink in Edwardsville. Bartenders are always friendly and conversational. Foundry has one of the best whiskey selections in the area with INCREDIBLE prices (ex: Blantons for $9). If you're a bourbon fan like myself, you're going to be delighted with the selection. They offer Pappy Van Winkle, Weller, Bookers, etc. The food is really good, I'd consider it as upscale bar food. I generally just order a couple appetizers for the table, usually mini quesadillas, wings, and the beer cheese fondue. It's the right amount to compliment some drinks. They've got inside and outside seating with fireplaces which make Foundry a great spot all year round. read more

That's the bad, as for the good.... If you want a well-stocked bar and don't care about food, this wouldn't be a bad place. But for us, it was a complete miss. What a great hip spot in downtown Edwardsville Illinois! As you may know, it's difficult for me to leave a Solid 5 stars and this would be a 4.8 if I could. For the sake of argument, we're just going to round it up today. It's a pretty good-size Restaurant and Bar, with an outside patio with plenty of shade and the music is pumped out door so that you never miss a song. The service, even though they were very busy due to an event, was attentive and very courteous. They were helpful in the selection of food and describe their menu for us. I ordered the hangover melt! This is an adult grilled cheese sandwich with three different types of cheese and a thick slice of smoked bologna all on a grilled sourdough toast! Need I say more? I followed it up with a side of their mac and cheese which is made with a rendition of their beer cheese sauce made and house, and it was excellent! Some of the best Mac and Cheese I have ever eaten. Sandwich was cheesy and delicious and I would certainly go back for it again. My wife had there beer cheese chicken and bacon flatbread, and it did not disappoint either.
