Tres chic? Non! For clarity, the label does not indicate that the garment cannot be dry-cleaned, and it has been safely cleaned several times prior to this, including at this very same cleaner. This time however, the garment returned to me is not only a different color, but it has an odd texture to it, almost as if it has a residue of some sort. Look, if I had wanted to ruin my favorite sweater, I could have saved myself the cost of dry-cleaning and tossed it in the wash at home. While I won't be returning, I would certainly advise other customers to inquire about their cleaning methods before entrusting them with your favorite clothing. I've been a customer at 3rd Generation for at least 15 years, but the service has been going downhill for the last few years. I mostly use them for alterations - I've had them alter a lot of clothing for me over the years, but the last three things I brought in had to be redone because they were sewn so poorly. I decided to give them another try, so this week I brought in a dress to be hemmed. It was a simple cotton dress, no frills, no ruffles, nothing fancy at all - just a straight across the bottom hem and a couple of stitches in the shoulder straps. Today when I went to pick it up, I was flabbergasted when the bill came to $40. They charge $10 to hem a pair of pants - it makes no sense why a simple dress would cost four times that much. When I asked the owner, he just shrugged and said, "Thirty to sixty dollars to hem a dress." I'm all about supporting local businesses and services, but at this point, I'm done with 3rd Generation. ETA: The professional website Thumbtack suggests that a dress hem should cost $10-15 (barring any unusual designs, fabrics, etc.) read more

They somehow removed the review from here because the experience was that bad and they can never own up to it. Stewart and vaughn are horrible people. I used to work there and man I've never been so disrespected in my life. and to your employees? talking bad about them behind there backs and starting drama ? very unprofessional as for there service they also don't do good everyone clothes is on the ground being stepped on and there all so very rushed which is why they don't always come out nice and there never properly washed like some people will ask for a wash but vaughn thinks "it doesn't need it" so she won't do it but still charge you. As a doctor i have a ton of clothing to dry clean. What differentiates this place from the other dry cleaners ive used in the bay area is the process they use to clean their customers clothes. The owner, Van even gave me a tour of how she cleaned it, their cleaning systems are called wet cleaning, which utilizes a gentle washing machine, biodegradable soaps and conditioners. It feels and smells great when i wear it and does not itch. They only charged $8 dollars for a hem up. Great Place extremely recommend read more

I just moved in the area so i decided to try out these new cleaners for my suit, ties, and pants to 3rd Gen Cleaners. The owner was very nice and welcoming. She said she could get my clothes taken care of in 2 days, which was fine by me. But most impressively, she got stains out of my ties that I had thought were never coming out, and managed to get my very wrinkled ties looking nice again. Price was very reasonable as well. Very greedy people. They treat their employees like slaves and are taking advantage of Cal works by taking their money for assistance and then treating their employees so bad they force them to leave afterthe assistanceruns out.
