There are some tables out front and two different seating areas inside (it's bigger than it looks). All the cooking is done behind the counter, where you can see it all happening. It's a busy place, and the servers are efficient, with a no nonsense approach to taking your orders. The menu is large, with lots of traditional favorites (no avocado toast here). There were two pages of breakfast items, and it was a tough decision. We ordered a number of different items: corned beef hash, pancakes, and potato pancakes with eggs and sausage. It did not take very long to get our food. Very good portions, everything was plenty hot, and all flavorful. Everyone was happy with their choices. The corned beef hash was not the kind you get from a can. It was large, fresh pieces. The pork sausages were plump and well seasoned. The poached eggs were perfect. My only complaint: I ordered my potato pancakes extra crispy, but they didn't seem "extra" to me (extra extra crispy next time). The regular pancakes were good, but not fluffy enough to be "excellent". A very nice place for breakfast, and somewhere we would return to.

The coffee was bland and not as described, based on my friends' reviews. However, about 10 hours later my husband developed a violent case of food poisoning. For 5 hours he was violently ill to the point that I feared for his life and contemplated calling 911 before he slightly improved enough to sleep. His digestive tract was so irritated that he was passing blood. Our group was together all day and ate the same foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner except for the one sandwich my husband got (a bacon, chicken, and ranch panini.) The panini style sandwich was not fully hot, and came with a slice of cheese that wasn't melted. I'm not sure the temps were safe for serving. My sandwich had bacon in it, so it must not have been that. I HATE leaving bad reviews for small businesses, as a business owner myself. But as I watched how ill my husband was, I imagined children or older people getting ill and felt extremely concerned. I called the coffee shop to let them know the day after, but did not receive a call back or acknowledgement of the message being received. It's now been over a week and still no word from the coffee shop. I wasn't expecting a refund, but I did think the owner might at least call back. I sadly cannot recommend the foods at the coffee shop, and would feel extremely concerned ordering a sandwich there, or anything with dairy or meat in it.
