Wed 7/15/26 Went here for breakfast for the first time since moving to Baraboo. My wife and I got breakfast. I had the French toast and eggs and she has pancakes and eggs. The food came up very fast. The service was great. Food was hot and fresh. I looked at the menu and I felt like everything was fairly priced. Some places, especially I am finding as you get closer to the Dells can get expensive very fast. This place is reasonably priced. It was pretty busy. The place was full. We didn't have a problem getting a table. We got our order in right away and the food came up fast. Everything was very good. They do a good job here and I will definitely be coming back. read more

Food is pretty decent. The hashbrown casserole wasn't very good. I would probably do the diced potatoes next time. Sausage gravy was decent and the fried chicken was well done! Will probably take the key lemon pie to go as well read more

This is the place to stop if you are leaving Devil's Lake! We had a lovely meal here on our way out of town. The entire restaurant is decorated with detailed wood carvings of bears, eagles, and other log cabins features. We had excellent service and picked up a pie for my mother in law because the slice we had impressed us so much! read more

First time there for a late lunch. It usually looks very crowded, but we picked a good time. The decor is beautiful! The server was friendly, fast and very professional. The food came pretty quickly and was piping hot. We all loved what we ordered, it was very delicious. Warning: the portions are huge! Plan on bringing some home. Upon arrival to this location you are greeted by a cabin style restaurant with ample amount of parking. Immediately greeted by host and asked for preference of interior or exterior -- which is a covered patio with fans. Server approached us quickly and was extremely nice! All food came out just as ordered and the flavor was good. One food item that stood out to me was the cinnamon roll! Terrible service. Our waiter was honestly the worst waiter I have ever dealt with. After about 10 minutes of waiting, he comes to take our order. There were five of us. I ordered the French onion soup, and the others ordered entrées. I asked him to bring me a small plate as I was not really hungry and I would try some of my wife's dinner. He came back with all four entrées. Event tells me he'll be right back with my soup and plate. He disappears for a solid 10 minutes. We were seated right across from the service station. I see him walk up to the soup warmer put some soup in a bowl and top it with some cheese. He walks over with the so-called French onion soup, which look like slop, put it on the table and starts to walk away. No apology. I stopped him and told him I thought my soup was being prepared the traditional way and that's why it took so long. I asked him why couldn't he just bring the soup over in the first place? Looking bothered, he tells me he was busy. The soup warmer was literally 10 feet away from us. I told him to take the soup back. He grabbed it said OK and walked away. As others have mentioned, terrible service and mediocre food, not worth the trip down from the Dells. I've been coming here for years, but won't waste my time anymore. read more

Cute place. A little busy on a Sunday morning but that's not surprising. Great place for families. I had a strawberry mimosa. We also ordered a pot of coffee. For our meals we had Daybreak which was super simple, eggs, toast and meat of your choice - a perfect amount for me. My boyfriend had Loggers choice and went with the hash brown casserole which was yummy cheesy hash browns. Both meals were the perfect amount of food. I was expecting them to be overly large and they were just right!! We also tried the key lemon pie slice. It was really good - a different kind of take on key lime. Was seated by the hostess stand, place was very quiet with very few customers. Sat there for over ten minutes and no one even came over and asked if we wanted anything to drink. Looked at my wife and asked if she was tired waiting or should we wait longer, we both decided that going somewhere else would be more advantageous to us so we got up and left. Hostess was standing there and didn't even ask if everything was okay nor apologize for the slow service, don't think that it's a place worth going back to and will be taking my business to other food venues when in Baraboo. read more

The inside has lots of seating! Menu is large and the portions were good. The food was served fast. The only item I was disappointed with was the cinnamon roll. While it was large, they don't use cream cheese frosting, they use the super sweet kind like that they use on pillsbury canned cinnamon rolls. read more

I took out food from here on a Sunday noon. There were a lot of people waiting for a seat at that time. Chicken pot pie which was a Sunday specialty was really good. Egg prime melt with hash casserole was a a good breakfast item. Chicken Fried steak was another excellent item I had here. I also had a couple of pie slices. Pecan pie was my favorite. Service was great. Food was excellent. I had a strawberry waffle. My brother had the fish fry. Both were great. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Wisconsin. Then the took away the incredible stuffed french toast. I begged them to bring it back. I would happily settle for twice a year as long as i knew when the dates were so i could drive there from the milwaukee area. The restaurant still ranks high on my list. Just not in the top 5. Food was pretty good. Up charge for fried eggs instead of scrambled which is dumb, it's less work to fry an egg... The service was rude af. Sat the three of us at a 8 top table. Then soon after we were done eating they kept wandering past trying to make it known that they wanted the table. Even went so far as to walk past saying loudly that as soon as we moved they could seat the 8 people waiting. Then proceeded to giggle once they thought we couldn't see them. Then about 5 minutes later a girl came over who wasn't our server to ask if we needed coffee. Look, you don't seat 3 people at an 8 top and then get upset that you have a large table taken up. There were plenty of smaller tables around that we could have been sat at. So that's on you. Secondly, don't be rude trying to get people to leave a table 15 minutes after they finish eating. There is no table limit posted and we left a nice hefty tip so mange the problem you created on your own. read more

The log cabin has been a staple restaurant in the Baraboo community for years. They have had different owners since my husband was growing up, however, not too much has changed. This is a great every day spot whether you are looking for an after church meal, lunch with your family or a classic Wisconsin Friday night fish fry. They have a massive parking lot with tons of room. The service is always friendly and quick. The interior has a very rustic, woodsy vibe with lots of animals and it is completely log. They have absolutely delicious Gouda hashbrowns as well as amazing pies. We stopped here on Friday night over the holiday holidays after hitting up two other places that had over 45 minute wait. This place was so adorable and the food was all wonderful!! I was looking for a place that had perch to take my grandparents. The inside decor is so cozy and cute, just like the name - it looks like a log cabin! They are a bakery so you have to save room for their pie! We all ordered the perch dinner and one of the bread options was a pumpkin loaf, which I thought was really cool! Of course I got that and it was so moist and delicious! Everything was fantastic. The food was good. The highlight was surely the potatoe casserole. I got the cinnamon role with high hopes. But it seemed stale with the outer parts a bit crunchy. I suggest ordering the icing on the side and extra butter. Top it with butter and use the icing as your taste buds allow. It is pretty sweet. The chorizo skillet was 9 out of ten. Sat on Patio ordered mushroom chicken and the rest of my party ordered turkey our food came it was cold so we sent it back they nuked the dishes brought it back and what was supposed to be chicken was well not quite sure I took one bite and could not do it got a baked potato and that tasted like it had been microwaved several times before being served. Came here for a late lunch. This is a homey restaurant. the service is excellent. Staff very friendly. 4 stars. We shared the chef salad that was huge. Two of us couldn't finish all of it. A cozy family style restaurant with great service and the best pie I've had in a long time! Good prices made it a great deal on a rainy winter night in Wisconsin Dells when I needed a home style meal while attending a conference. A friend suggested this restaurant to me. Her family had been going there for years and she was certain if like it because it focuses on family style meals. I was not disappointed. I ordered a rib dinner and pie for dessert. I right the ribs would be grilled because of the picture in the menu. They appeared to be oven baked or boiled but they were tasty. I prefer grilled ribs and would not prefer that meal again. Still, the meal was plentiful. It was a good deal and a lot more than I could eat in one setting. If falling off the bone is your thing, you'll love these ribs. Be sure to ask for extra sauce on the side. The meal came with salad, green beans, corn, and bread. NOW, the pie! OMG! That pie! I ordered the banana cream pie and thought I'd died and gone to heaven! The crust was light and flaky. The filling was sweet and creamy. It was pure Nirvana! I wanted to just sit there and eat THAT all night long! AMAZING! I even took a slice back to the hotel with me for the next day. It was simply dreamy! If I'm ever in the area again, I'll give you this restaurant for pie and coffee. Even better than the pie, the service!!! My waitress was simply fantastic! She was attentive and pleasant. She knew how to ask questions and seemed to be enjoying her job. Everyone working there was smiling and moving about purposefully. Nobody was acting as if they didn't want to be at work or as if the customers were inconveniencing them. They all served to work well as a team to make the dining experience pleasant for their customers. I really appreciated that because it's so rare these days. Overall, there only real challenge was the construction on the road outside the restaurant but that's not their fault. I'm pretty sure it's temporary. Your GPS will take you right to that construction. But there are back roads that lead you around to a parking lot. Ask any of the locals and they'll help you get to the parking lot. Or just be curious enough to find it. It's well worth the effort and you won't be sorry. I recommend you order the pie. No matter what your meal, stay for the pie. read more
