There's a lot of grooming places in the South Bay, but I want to say this is the best. They do such an amazing job. They are the most organized groomers I've ever been to. They have fur swatches! What!! Yes, fur swatches. You can choose the length and the way it's fluffed. They're also really quick so it makes me feel a bit better about leaving my dog at the groomer's. Some places leave dogs in cages for hours on end because they are unorganized. No, not this place! They're usually done around an hour and a half & they'll call me right away. Brought my dog here twice now and very happy with both haircuts. Both haircuts were done by Mika. Previously brought my dog to Petco and I will never go back. Haircut always came out great and was exactly what I wanted. You can tell with how well Mika interacts with your dog that she knows what she's doing. I very much like how they trim and dull the nails. With Petco, it will be trimmed but it'll feel sharp after a 2-3 weeks. After 6 weeks, I can feel my dog's nails but it is a dull sharpness and no where near as sharp with the Petco nail trim. I was initially thrown off with pickup times because I'm used to Petco taking half a day, but my dog's haircut is always done within 1-1.5hrs with this place. Overall, I'm never going back to Petco and will come back here 10/10. Would highly recommend. Sidenote: very good with applying covid precautions. read more

STOP! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! They chopped my Maltipoo's hair off, left the poor little guy looking like a Chihuahua. Was very clear when I requested a fluffy, cotton ball look as he's had before. And no, our Malti did have matted hair, we frequently brush and maintain his beautiful coat. Now we know why they were so persistent for us to pay before seeing our baby. You can imagine how we felt when we seen him...it was horrible. When we told the staff we didn't ask for that and why would they cut all his hair, they had the nerve to say "well we can't put the hair back now" WTF!! Could not believe it. Loved them the first time but was absolutely disappointed the second time and not going back. I went to pick up my doggie and she smelled horrific, they did that anal gland expression and that's fine I want them to take care of that, I think most dog owners know that smell it is a very pungent offensive smell whatever that is they express from the anal gland... she was groomed and washed but my poor doggie smelled like she was covered in that puss or whatever comes out of that gland. I was in a HUGE rush to get to another appointment so I rushed her home and could not ask them to re-wash her, she smelled soooo baaaad!!! I put my doggie in the car and drove 20 minutes back home. My car smelled like her anal gland for days and obviously I was not going to leave her smelling like that so after my appointment I washed her myself and focused on her rear, put lots of shampoo on her and gave her a good triple wash. She was ok after I washed her but I cannot believe they didn't wash her properly after the anal gland thing, it obviously went all over her fur, she's a long haired girl. I love the haircut and they are very nice and fast, they are Japanese and speak Japanese, most Japanese owned businesses are very meticulous and perfectionists, but that smell was unacceptable! I'm really surprised and bummed, I have to find another place I can trust. And I've never had any issues with her glands before! She's a very clean doggie, she rarely gets that wet dog smell even. In regards to the owner's comments below - It's hard to reserve grooming appointments at the same place as I don't have a job that allows me to know when I will be able to take my doggie in, so my reservations are always same day and I rotate between 3 groomers so I can find a same day appointment. Most groomers are booked full for a week out! As noted I had to rush to my next appointment and re-wash my doggie in the evening after that appointment. I should not have to do that and I stand my ground that my doggie should have never been ready to be picked up smelling like that, she should have been washed better, smelling clean. I should not have to worry about requesting to rewash or have to complain ever about that, right after the grooming or next day or ever. That is just not something I should ever have to have concerns about or ask about, at any time. I do not want a refund, I do not want to sue for cleaning my car that smelled like anal gland for a long time. I just would like the staff to make sure this never happens to anyone else, and continue serving customers with the best service, no service is perfect there is always room for improvement. And if nobody pointed out concerns the services will not improve. Yelp is not meant to hurt anyone's business, most unsatisfactory reviews are for constructive criticism. If you have more raving reviews than not then have confidence that a couple unsatisfactory reviews are normal, you don't have to be perfect. This is something you can fix and make sure that it never happens again. There are so many groomers on every block it's very competitive, and I wash my own doggie and do her nails myself, I only visit groomers when she needs a haircut so not to have to deal with the cut hair- otherwise I would even trim her myself, but I pamper her and make sure her glands are extracted every other visit - not every visit, I don't even know if she really needs it, I only do it because I was told it should be emptied every few months... so if I am paying $$$ I do expect her to be at least clean, and hope people who read my review will agree grooming fees are not cheap and that being clean would be a minimum requirement. I'm more upset at the time/energy I needed to spend re-washing my doggie I was not going to leave her smelling like that in my house all night. I had to wash her late at night after my appointment, honestly it sucks to have to do that after paying so much money and spending time taking her to the appointment. Whether I wrote this 4 months after my visit or the day after should not make any difference. I write my reviews when I have time, and when I feel like it, this isn't a job we don't get paid for this. I'm not understanding what difference it makes when I visited and when I wrote this review. If I had the time to complain when I picked up my doggie I still would not have had the time to have her re-washed and I did not want a refund, I had to go, I wasn't going to waste more time. My friend takes her furry here. I was looking for a groomer bc our mobile groomer is booked for two months! I use to take her to Pet Smart on PCH. I didn't see her groomers listed for appointments for two weeks! Ugh. I am so glad that I got the recommendation from my friend! The groomer here was able to trim or grind my furry's nails the shortest ever I have seen! My furry gets groomed once a month. Baths in between at home. I totally recommend this shop! One of the best pet grooming shops in town in our opinion, we have been taking our dogs here for a while, each time they did an amazing job on all our dogs! Our two Aussie doodles are big dogs with thick and curly furs that need to be groomed every two weeks, as well as our Yorkie cause he has long hair that needs to be taken care of often too. This is a Japanese owned grooming shop that they sell a whole bunch of super cute pet products, so many cute clothes for small dogs too. We usually take them in around noon and they call us when they are done that's usually in 3 hours or so. It's very efficient and hassle free. The prices are reasonable, one big dog and a small dog is around $90-100 each time, just one big dog is about $50. They always make our dogs super clean, fresh and fluffy, eyes and ears are all very well trimmed and cleaned too! I just can't stop hugging them after their salon trip! Zero stars. Took my pup few times.1- have to agree with some comments about the place being dirty and smelly. 2- Do they really have water back there? The second n third time I visit I notice my puppy was fluffy and cute but didn't seem like water had touched her. 3- my puppy had some skin tags on her neck, this ignorant people cut through and she probably bled for hours, because my usual 90min visit became like 3hrs, my guess they were trying to stop the bleeding. I noticed the big bump of dried blood the next day. THERE WAS NO POINT TO COME BACK AND SCREAM AT THIS IDIOTS! They don't understand or speak proper English anyway. They only see and read $ signs.
