We took our dog here for her first three grooming experiences ever. She always came back to us happy, so I could tell she was well cared for. Other than that, the cuts were always a bit off and contacting them was extremely difficult (and sometimes unprofessional), to the point where I couldn't consistently make an appointment. Again, they seem to have a lot of happy customers, the other customers I met in line were always very friendly and positive about the service, and in person, the owner was always quite nice to me. Her assistant also seemed to really care for dogs and was consistently kind to our dog. The scheduling difficulties were just not a good fit for us. To make an appointment, you have to text them. Then wait for hours or days for them to get back to you. They were booked up more than 2 months in advance when we were going here. After our 3rd appointment, we got our dog back and we couldn't deny the fact that she looked like a ghoul. It was kind of funny, but whatever the cut they did, it highlighted her dark circles (a real issue at the time). I also forgot to make my next appointment when picking her up so I texted immediately asking for an appointment. I never heard from them, and they never picked up when I tried calling several times. Over a month later, I got a text reminding me that our dog had an appointment the next day. What? I had already assumed they didn't need my business and had made an appointment with another groomer by then. No hard feelings, just not the place for us at the time. read more

Our 6 month old puppy Trixie did great. She is very sociable and she got along with all the staff. Staff are friendly. We were extremely happy with her haircut. We dropped her off around 9 am and she was ready for us by 11 am. The groomers did an amazing job at cleaning her ears. This was her second time getting groomed and her first time at this location. We already scheduled her next grooming appointment a month in advance. Prices are reasonable. We previously did mobile groomer because she gets nauseated on car rides but Mobile grooming is very expensive for us. We are glad we found a local groomer for our pup. Five stars. read more

The absolute best grooming salon in the South Bay! We were looking for a groomer for our 2 year old English Bulldog named Ziggy Barktholomew Marley and found Happy Tails on Yelp about a year ago! This place is very unprofessional. The owner, Julissa, once told me a story about how she tracked down a yelper that left them a bad review and called them to confront them (no apology). Pridefully too. I looked past this red flag at first. My dog would leave this place very anxious and stressed. As soon as I walked in he was crying. Thought my dog just didn't like being groomed. They usually had us drop him off in the AM and have us pick him up 4-5 hours later into the afternoon. Had a complete different reaction when trying a different groomer, The Pet Wash in El Segundo. I recommend checking out this cage-free establishment if you're in the area-especially if you have a senior dog, like I do. It's logical that my dear boy just didn't like being caged up all this time and long waits. Found this place because after years of getting my dog groomed here started to ignore our texts as he aged (their preferred method of booking). Message understood. I took 2 of my dogs in for a groom, one pup was very matted as she had an itchy allergy to meds from a dental extraction and had chewed the hair on her back. I warned the groomer about this when I made the appointment and they said they would charge an extra $5 which is a lot less than other groomers charge for matting. Prices are the standard going rate for a full groom service. Easy texting for the appointment, easy parking in the strip mall, proof of vaccinations required which shows they are professional, easy to pay and include the tip with their apple setup, and the groomer took notes on what style/length of coat/medical issues for each dog too. My matted 7lb pup has a fragile jaw after the removal of 12+ teeth and she is tiny so anyone grooming her has to be very careful not to break her jaw. The groomer talked to me about how to hold my pup's head when grooming so we could keep her safe which showed the level of care they were taking. When I picked my pups up they looked wonderful, smelled of vanilla, and had a cute bow on my little furgirl and a bandana on my furboy. I was pleased with their cuts, no nicks, sanitary area done well, nails trimmed, faces clean and tidy. I will be returning with my 3rd dog who has had surgery and had to be shaved to see if they can even his hair out as it grows back. She knows that my dog is older and has a lot of separation anxiety because she's a rescue and the owner always tries to get her in and out as fast as she can. I had a really bad experience taking my dog to a Korean groomer and after that day, it's been a nightmare taking my dog to the groomers! Thankfully, my fellow Yelper, Diana C. She recommended Happy Tails Dog Spa and so I decided to give them a call and make an appointment. So, appointment day finally comes and I go inside and see my old middle school English teacher. I was genuinely confused... but then as we kept updating each other, my teacher's wife was the owner of the spa. Talk about... WHAT A SMALL WORLD. Anywho, dropped my dog off and picked up her 2-3 hours later and WOW. My dog was not shivering or scared! That's when you know they are not torturing your dog...
