The search for the perfect groomer is finally over! I could never find a place in the area that I was 100% satisfied with, so I used to drive all the way to K-Town in L.A. to get my dog groomed. She's a Bichon Frise, and not every grooming salon has experience with the breed. Unfortunately, that often resulted in some very disappointing haircuts. Bella Banana popped up on my Instagram feed, and I decided to give them a try. They had great reviews, but as we all know, good reviews don't always guarantee a good experience. I waited until our second visit before writing this review because I wanted to be sure -- and I can confidently say I absolutely love Bella Banana! First of all, the salon has a fully open concept with large windows where you can actually see the dogs being groomed. This is very important to me. At many other places, they take my Bichon to the back, and I have no idea what's happening -- which always made me uncomfortable. Bella Banana's transparent, open space gives me so much peace of mind and builds real trust. Today I picked up my dog after her grooming, and once again, it was a perfectly satisfying cut. The staff is incredibly friendly, and you can genuinely tell they love animals and handle them with sincere care and gentleness. Our groomer was Paulina, our 1st visit with Bella Banana and I'm not going to lie and say I wasn't a bit nervous because my snoopy is naughty boy, my maltipoo Godiva is a good girl. Drop off was amazing the ladies greeted us and addressed the pups, and made me feel comfortable to drop them off, she explained what the service entailed. She said I'd get a text in about 4hrs when they were ready. They did such an amazing job, my babies looked so cute and smelled delicious. Got a 10% discount since it was our 1st visit. I'm so happy I decided to make an appointment at Bella Banana! My dog has never liked water and always looks so sad and on the verge of a panic attack. When I initially reached out about an appointment I was pleasantly surprised to hear back from BB within the day. Making an appointment was easy. I'm kicking myself for not getting the name of the groomer--chatting with her was so easy that I forgot to ask her name :( She was so pleasant and after listening to me tell her all about Princess' water anxiety she just said "no problem". This was Cinnamon's first time with Bella Banana and they did an amazing job! I've been to other groomers and they never delivered what I asked for, it was always too short even though I specifically asked for it to be on the longer side, and Cinnamon wouldn't have any severe matting for them to shave it off, they just wanted the easy haircut, but Bella Banana takes their time and actually gives your baby a haircut, not a shave! The haircut I wanted, will have to be a process and they communicate that with me since it's on the longer side and Cinnamon's hair isn't quite there yet. I'm glad they take their time to communicate and come to an understanding, instead of just rushing and taking your baby to the back with minimal communication. They also made cinnamon feel so comfortable and calm! Cinnamon was nervous when I dropped her off but she was so playful and happy when I picked her up! Don't recommend. First visit was okay but second time she didn't even finish the job. Got charged $180 and the front wasn't even touched let alone trimmed. I had to go home and trim the rest myself. Groomer said it was hard to get the front. Since only half our dog was trimmed it shouldn't have been full price for a partial job. Other groomers we've taken him to have had no issues. Not worth it. There's so many better spots in town. Take your pet elsewhere. read more

I just picked up my nervous, reactive dog on his first visit to Bella Banana, and I am completely surprised and at a loss of words. Benji usually does not like to be groomed or even brushed. He will growl and show his teeth. So today I wasn't very hopeful and would have been happy with just a quick bath. But I was shocked when I came to pick up my dog because not only did he get a bath and brush, the wonderful ladies were able to give him a bath and tidy him up. He's so fluffy and cute now! The ladies at this salon understand how to work with nervous dogs. They are obviously experienced and know how to read a dog's signals. They gave me guidance on how to drop off Benji without a big struggle. They also let the dogs chill in separate pens that look out the window until they are calm enough to be groomed. I think giving Benji space and time until he was ready was exactly what he needed to not be so nervous with the grooming process. read more
