As a tourist to the Newark, Little Goat Coffee Roasting is a great representation of old meets new. Take the location - looks like an old home converted into a coffee house. You step inside seeing one half is a living room sit down area, then the other half is both charming, quaint coffee house mixed with an open view of the roasting operation. When entering, I came during a slow period before the rush came shortly thereafter around 9:30am. Not only were staff friendly with me during the slow time, knowledgeable to point me in the direction for coffee, and efficient making the coffee; they were equally the same energy when it became busy. I had both the cold brew (black) and the pictured: Fruit Loop Latte - both were good in their own right and can't go wrong. Coffee shop meets University vibe. They roast their own beans and I liked their new Peru enough that I bought 1 pound for a very reasonable $24. Inside seating is quite limited, but there is a front porch for nice weather days. Food selections are limited as they keep their focus on coffee. I would like to see them do pour overs. Great coffee with changing seasonal options. My brother loves their Fruit Loops Iced latte. I opted for an iced latte with their sweetened condensed coconut milk. I am bummed that you can no longer park across the street or behind the building, but again it is worth trying to find parking. I got the ginger mocha. Really enjoyed stopping off at Little Goat the other day. It's a pretty popular coffee spot around the university of Delaware campus and it's easy to identify because of the name and their stickers with goats on them. They had a really large selection of coffees, teas, and pastries, and I will definitely want to go back and try more in the future. Yeah this place rocks. One of my favorite places to eavesdrop because it's always so crowded. Great little coffee shop with fresh roasted beans. Service was great with a super friendly staff. Oatmilk latte was smooth and creamy, with a solid espresso flavor. A bunch of locals were working on laptops and chatting. There isn't a ton of space inside but would be a cool spot to work out of. They also have an outdoor area that wraps around the building. Wonderful syrups (favorite is lavender) that are pretty sweet. I enjoy the baked goods like the veggie hand pies when available. PB cup hot cocoa with a shot of espresso is great but a little more than what I usually get (oat latte with lavender syrup) as far as taste and price go. First and foremost, I love the name. It's what made me want to visit. Unfortunately, due to covid, you can't go inside. That's okay. I still wanted to go because of glowing reviews. I get here and seen the sign apologizing about not being able to come inside. You head right into this greenhouse looking patio where they take your order. Yes, it was warm in there but, they are quick. I get it. It protects you from weather elements (rain, snow, etc). I ordered a cappuccino and a whoopie pie. They have 3 flavors (chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and chocolate). I asked the person who took my order which is their favorite. He said oatmeal raisin. He did mention all are good but oatmeal was personally his favorite. I selected his favorite and he let me know there was a window around the corner for pickup of my cappuccino. The wait wasn't long and there were two people in front of me. I got my drink and I was done. The flavor was amazing! It was creamy and the wake up element was there. This whoopie pie was tasty. It was soft and just enough of what I needed. I do wish the outside held up better instead of crumbling while biting but that didn't stop me from throwing that bad boy down the hatch! It went nicely with the cappuccino. It reminded me of an oatmeal cream pie with way more filling. I had a short but pleasant experience. I was less than 24 hours into a weekend with my parents. Between my mother asking me every 10 minutes if I was hungry and my father refusing to take his eyes away from 2011 WWE highlights I was growing weary of my time there. The mood struck and I needed to get out of the house and caffeinate myself. I always love judging a book by it's cover so I went to Little Goat based solely on it's name. I pulled up and was pleasantly surprised that they had off street parking which is a rarity near UD. I walked inside and they had a large chalkboard with their menu listed. I was pleasantly surprised that the they had a combination of simple and complex drinks and that the prices were extremely affordable. Oftentimes these artisanal coffee shops need to provide a glossary along with their menu so I can understand what exactly they are serving. After chatting with the extremely helpful barista and studying the chalk wall for several minutes I choose a unique cold brew style drink that based on it's delectable flavor alone, woke me up. As of right now, there's limited seating with a couch seating area and only four seats by the wall. There's a large porch outside but no seating there yet. The decor is eclectic, and the interior also has a fireplace with different pots and plants around it. I ordered their matcha colada for $5. It was amazing! The matcha flavor was strong and it had coconut cream in it as well. They have fair trade coffee which is roasted in house, and also a small selection of teas. When you walk in you're hit with a typical coffee shop vibe, but with a more old school esthetic. I wish I had more time to spend inside the coffee shop.
