A precious gem in the middle of historic St. Francisville! My hubby and I visitored St…read more Francisville for our "minimoon" (since our honeymoon was taken a month after the wedding). We stumbled upon this shop and spent a good amount of time exploring inside. This building was an old bank and has been since transformed into a Knick knack shop selling miscellaneous items--bath products, clothing, BUTTONS!, etc. This place sure gives you the feel of St. Francisville and small town Louisiana as well! 10/10 recommend popping in here to see what it's all about!

From grow your own flower kit to an eye glass repair kit! (I wanted to buy all the kits) To top it off this store carrys this warmth that I didn't know could be portrayed in a store. It gives you the feeling of walking into grandma's house as she's sitting in her rocking chair sewing you an outfit using the buttons and threads out of an old cookie tin. Now to the architectural aspect of the store. The store is located where there was once a bank, so the doors are roundes as if there was once a revolving door there. I absolutely love it! The store is HUGE with little treasures sprinkled everywhere , and a miniature history lesson tucked away in the walk in vault! The bright red building is hard to miss! But to be honest who would want to miss this place.

Today I finally had some time to peruse around, and I am very glad that I did! It took me a while to walk the entire store, but I really enjoyed the setup. Most of the furniture was staged with vintage and antique items to look like actual rooms, even though there are no real partitions throughout the store. In terms of stock, everything was good quality. No junk here! Their selection of vintage and costume jewelry is excellent as well. I bought a lovely brooch and earrings. The prices here are very reasonable, and the owner is very knowledgeable about her stock. One would expect this to be the case in an antique store; however, I have gone into MANY antique stores with poorly labeled, over-priced antiques and sellers who did not really know what they are selling. My favorite so far were the brulot glasses I found in uptown New Orleans labeled "Irish Mugs." I'll share that story another time. The owner is also amazingly helpful, upbeat, and energetic. If you are looking for antiques/vintage in Baton Rouge, do not miss this place!
