The food was very cold when it got to our table and the butter wouldn't even melt on our mash potatoes. It took an hour to get our food & noticed another couple complaining as well about the food, and the service. Also the waitresses eat right behind where they get your salads, and other things ready before & durning the time it takes to get your meal, and if you watch you'll see that they use their fingers to eat with by the waitress station. we will never eat in there again. And I didn't even want to give it 1 star but couldn't figure out how not to do it. read more

I always try to eat at local places rather than national chain and fast food restaurants. However, this diner is not quite what I expected from a "local joint." I had a grilled cheese that was excellent, but the fries and other sides were less than par. Mom got the pot roast and a "homemade" slice of pie that was not good. Not worth the hassle of dealing with a lot of flies trying to land on your food. Average age of customers was about 70. read more

We were headed to Eureka Springs, Ar from the Dallas-Fort Worth area. P.J. Was our waitress and worth the trip even if the food had been bad which it wasn't. Chicken fried steaks and steaks fingers was what we had. Everything was yummy good. Will definitely stop when we make the trip again. read more

The last time i ordered from here was about a month ago. I work really close and have always had great food in the past. I always get the breakfeast ham platter. Well since they are under new ownership, it has gone down hill! The ham used to fill one to go box by itself, now it was half the size. The eggs were cold and rubbery, and for some reason super greasy. The gravy was almost the consistency of jello. And the roll was like a rock. Not cool. read more

This is a great little diner! The wait staff are very good they go the extra mile for their elderly regular customers and I like to see that. My husband has a nose for finding a good old fashioned diner and The 4-Star did not disappoint. It's open 24/7 with breakfast served all day. My husband had the eggs, hash browns and bacon. Bacon was thick sliced and cooked crispy. I had the kitty chicken, which is breaded in house, with a side of home cut fries. Wait staff was cheerful and nice. Was traveling through this morning and stopped at the diner for the first time . I was very pleased with the friendly service , clean restroom and cute decor. The food was very tasty and enough to satisfy even the hungriest of appetites. If we get back that way we will visit it again. read more

horrbible service,, if you are not a local or regular they could care less what type of service they provide. it took over 35 minutes for our hamburgers to come to the table. while the 4 tables around us all arrived after us and had been served their food. the managements idea of handeling a complaint is to blow it off. not worth the trip read more

It has been a long time since I have had such a poor meal for such a big price. The "homemade pies and rolls" sign on the window beckoned me. The day's specials written on a whiteboard for $8.50 promising " homecooking With one entree and 3 sides" was tempting. Fast forward 15 minutes to a plate with one small ice cream scoop of instant potatoes and a 5" round tastes-like-soy fried patty covered with canned gravy. One tiny bowl of canned pinto beans and an equally small shallow bowl of decent cucumber salad. 1 fluffy roll. My companions had 1) a reuben sandwich- while good, it had less than 1/2" of meat and the fries were cold. 2) scrambled eggs declared good, while the accompanying hashbrowns were cold and bought biscuits were cold and tasteless. Really??? Maybe the name diner drew us in but it is definitely a one- off for us and probably for others who still have working tastebuds. Shame on you. Homecooking? Not. The offered sides were inexpensive to make so why in the world serve canned tasteless food while touting yourself as homecooking?? read more
