We had a horrible experience with this place. We bought 5 pounds of pastor meat and it was complete mush, we had bought this same meat 2 days before and it was fine but this time we got mush. We went the next day to try to explain the whole situation and they said that we didn't buy the meat from there and that we came back with meat from somewhere else and they refused to give us the same amount of meat in return, manager was very rude and had a disgusting attitude. 0/10 customer service, avoid this place.

This is the pastor you get from there !!

I went to buy pastor and this is what I get . Horrible meat full of grease and no meat at all. Horrible customer service and the manger was rude and So unprofessional!

    Pastor

My sister invited me to her home to have dinner after work & after being in the office all day long she tells me this is what she got! We simply could not eat it. I cannot believe this is what they are selling, this is not eatable at all. As you can see on the pictures the meat looks gooey and if it was bathe in oil, this is truly disgusting. My sister called the store and they were just not cooperating so we decided to go in person. To make things worst, my sister had already thrown away the receipt because she opened the bag to cook it and after seeing how horribly it looked she also threw away whatever it was we had on the pan. The person in charge, who instead of understanding she got loud and even said "crees que sería tan estupida de vender esa carne" even with the pictures my sister took which clearly showed the time of purchase she did not help my sister with a refund or even store credit. The person in charge asked my sister why she didn't have the meat in hand to return it & she tried to tell her that she wasn't going to get it out of the trash can and bring it to the store; HR needs to train their employees on how to resolve issues like these. All we wanted was to have dinner. If could I would give no stars.

Super nice butchers that are helpful with what you want to cook. Products and well organized. Look forward to returning to try other meats.

You can tell there's real care behind what they do. Everything feels intentional, from the quality of the meat to the fact that they practice whole-animal butchery and source locally through Hobson Family Farms. Love supporting businesses that are actually rooted in the community instead of just slapping "local" on a label. Also obsessed that they make everything in-house... jerky, sausages, beef sticks, bone broth powder, seasonings, even beef tallow. They also carry artisan bread, fresh produce, and organic milk, so somehow I walked in for meat and left feeling like a pioneer woman lol. The space itself feels warm, welcoming, and very Ventura in the best way. Clean, rustic, community-oriented... the kind of place where you can tell the regulars genuinely love coming in. It has that old-school neighborhood butcher shop energy but without feeling intimidating or pretentious. The staff was super welcoming and patient answering questions without making anyone feel intimidated. Whether you know your cuts of meat or you're just there because someone told you "trust me," they make the experience approachable. Honestly feels like one of Ventura's hidden gems. Made my husband very happy. He literally made flank steak the second we got home and was completely content. Now he's suddenly talking about buying a smoker!

I went to Five Points Meat Market to purchase approximately 11-12 bone-in short ribs. The total came to about 8.5 pounds, costing over $140. I have purchased meat from Five Points Meat Market in the past and previously received satisfactory cuts, so I did not thoroughly inspect the short ribs at the time of purchase. When I prepared the ribs on Christmas Day, I discovered that the majority of the cuts were almost entirely fat. I trimmed away as much fat as possible, but even after trimming, the ribs remained excessively fatty. Out of the entire order, I was only able to salvage about six ribs with a reasonable amount of meat, and even those still contained significant fat. Three of the ribs were unusable and had to be discarded due to the lack of meat. Because it was Christmas Day and grocery stores were closing as I was preparing dinner, I had no choice but to cook the ribs anyway. Despite removing most of the visible fat, a couple of my family members experienced mild stomach discomfort due to how fatty the meat was. While I understand that short ribs naturally contain fat and this is a dish my family prepares often, I have never received such poor-quality short ribs before. There were leftovers, but no one wanted to eat them. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience, especially given the price. In hindsight, I should have purchased the short ribs from Sprouts, where the cuts appeared to be significantly meatier, less fatty, and 100% grass-fed at a lower cost.
