The three of us participated, and my wife and sister-in-law came to watch. This was actually a fun time. It runs $20 for an hour, but they provide an "Axe-pert" to make sure you understand safety and learn where to stand and how to throw. Gabe was super-friendly and went through the rules quickly. He then spent 10-15 minutes making sure the three of us knew how to throw and could at least occasionally stick an axe. By the end of our training, Gabe made it clear that we were all close. One's axe throw if the same mechanically once you get going, but where you stand will determine whether or not your blade bounces or sticks. Once the training ends, THEN your one hour clock starts. To be honest, an hour is a long time to repeatedly throw an axe at a board. It does not get boring, but that repetitive motion with a weighted item will slow you down by the end of an hour. We managed to get through a game of 5 rings, 64, and 21 in our hour's time. The place was not overly busy, so they gave us an additional five minutes to finish our game of 21. My sister-in-law was wary at first, but when we finished she noted how glad she was that we did this. My nephew had not smiled like that for a long time, and he was genuinely excited to play. This is not a cheap activity, but you will get your $20 worth once you get to play a few games. The friendly staff and great atmosphere (hearing axes hitting and sticking or bouncing from many lanes creates a sense of excitement. I highly recommend that folks give this a try.

From the moment I first connected with Randy to check availability, to his gracious and warm greeting at the front door and through to our last good-bye, it was evident that his goal was to make our stay a memorable one. He succeeded in his objective far beyond our already high expectations. The public areas, our room with all the attention to details, not to mention the amazing 3 course healthy and delicious breakfast, all added to a most enjoyable time. There are many reasons people own B&B's. We just came from one the previous evening that was nice, but it was also apparent that money was a driving motivator. Randy is a businessman - and a very good B&B businessman at that - but we were made to feel as though profitability was simply a byproduct of an extra-ordinary stay. This claim is further substantiated by the crazy low rate he charges for his rooms! I hesitated to write this review because I selfishly don't want others to know of this little gem of a place but writing these heartfelt thoughts is the least I can do to show my appreciation for the wonderful night we spent at the Stewart Inn. She knew the Pavilion well and is very comfortable working in that space. She served our guests well and we had no issues with over/under serving our guests. She is very helpful with ordering the alcohol, estimates, and is knowledgeable regarding best prices in the Wausau area. On the flip side, there were far more negatives to report. From the beginning she comes off extremely helpful and accommodating. If you choose to hire her, please be very conscientious of what you agree to (whether it's in the contract or not) because she will hold you to it and not allow you to change your mind with ANY details. Her decor is outdated, and just because I did not tell her this in our initial meeting, she refused to hear our requests to take things down (mind you, these were things that did NOT make her job any more difficult). When asked by both my wedding planners (whom she refused to even speak to), my mom, my step mom, my husband's mom, my matron of honor, and countless bridesmaids, to remove the decor that did not match our theme for our event, she refused and was mean, rude, and downright terrible to all of the most important people in my life. My family and bridesmaids had to spend most of Friday and Saturday trying to plead with her to make the decor and bar changes that we wanted. She only responded to me with "Well there's a difference between a bartending service and a bartender." At 11pm, on the day of our wedding, she decides to tell my husband that she is charging us for "damages" to her equipment that was mysteriously packed away already. I can't even begin to tell you how terrible she was to work with and how incredibly discouraging it was to worry about something as silly as decor on my wedding day. She cares more about her pride than making her customers happy which is so very sad and I have no idea how she's still in business. She does not work well collaborating with other vendors so please don't book her for your wedding. Do not book her for any event other than a low-key event otherwise she will find a way to disappoint you.
