I'm not sure if they have a parking lot since u walked there, but it seems like they have plenty of street parking since I saw a lot of people parking on various sides of the museum. The museum itself was really interesting and even though it was small it was very informative and provided ample methods of learning the information, including videos, audio, timelines, and other information.

This integration was considered a test of Brown v. Board of Education that found that "separate but equal" was unconstitutional. The National Historic Site consists of the Visitor Center/Museum, Little Rock Central High School (which is still an operating school), the Commemorative Garden, the Magnolia Mobil Station (which served as an impromptu press base), and the Elizabeth Eckford Bus Bench. It is managed by the National Park Service. Admission is free and they allow photos. The museum is small and does not take very long to walk through, though it will take some time if you read all of the panels and watch the videos. They offer guided tours on certain days. If you're doing a self-guided tour, you cannot enter the school. Central High School is very beautiful. The architecture is a blend of Art Deco and Gothic Revival. Climbing the stairs was an extremely heavy feeling that I wasn't prepared for. As I ascended the stairs, I imagined what it would have felt like to walk through angry mobs just to go to school. It was honestly overwhelming and I don't know if I would have been able to endure such hatred and discrimination. I'm grateful to the Little Rock Nine for their courage, perseverance, and resiliance.

My wife and…read moreI came in on a Friday afternoon, we loved the beers so much that we grabbed 3 6-packs on the way out. Happy hours included half price pints and some really good bar snacks... I would recommend the sampler that came with onion rings, cheese fries, chicken bites (get the dry rub!), and egg roll boudin. This place is so secure in the quality of the beer that they offer that our bartender actually recommended that we go to another place to compare: Moody Brews a couple of miles south. We decided to stay for a while and sample the beers at this place instead, playing rummy and watching a bowl game on TV. A perfect spot for all of that!!

The…read morerestaurant was clean, comfortable, and had the music at exactly the right volume present enough to create atmosphere without making conversation difficult. Nothing felt overwhelming or overdone, which made for a relaxed experience. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Water hit the table in under two minutes, and our beers arrived in less than five. That's the kind of efficiency every restaurant should strive for. Now for the food: * Cheese Curds ($8) - These arrived piping hot and fresh from the fryer. The curds themselves were crispy but fairly bland on their own. The ranch and Mimi's Red Sauce did a lot of the heavy lifting here and elevated the dish significantly. * Queso ($8, plus $2 for chorizo) - Very basic. Not bad, but not memorable either. It tasted like melted Velveeta with a little extra liquid mixed in. Perfectly edible, just lacking any standout flavor. * Pretzel ($6) - Easily one of the highlights of the meal. They accidentally brought us the espresso pretzel first before correcting it with the plain version we ordered. Surprisingly, both were excellent. Soft, fresh, and flavorful. * Smash Burger & Fries ($17) - The fries were fantastic: hot, crispy, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. The burger itself was average--exactly what you'd expect from a mid-range brewery restaurant. Good, but not something I'd specifically come back for. * Chicken Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries ($15) - The low point of the meal. The sweet potato fries were cold, stale, and honestly should never have left the kitchen. The chicken sandwich wasn't much better. The breading was overcooked to the point of tasting burnt, and there wasn't much flavor beyond that. * Bacon-Wrapped Quail Sliders - Another average offering. Not bad by any means, but nothing that stood out or justified ordering again. The beer is clearly the star of the show here. Flyway knows how to brew, and that's what would bring me back. The food ranges from good to disappointing, with only a few items really standing out. Overall: * Beer: 4/5 * Food: 2/5 * Service: 5/5 Flyway Brewing is worth visiting for the beer, atmosphere, and service. Eat because you're there, not because you're searching for an exceptional meal. If the kitchen can become as consistent as the brewery, this place could be something special.

This is an all around travel management company that offers transportation, tours, wedding and event planning. Normally, they work with large groups that come into Little Rock for conventions, marathons or large events but Arkansas Destinations also offers small group bookings. They accommodated me--a solo traveler--by arranging an outing out to Hot Springs and back which included a small Little Rock historical tour. My tour guide was local travel agent Felicia Moore, who was very knowledgeable about the area and did a great tour. AD has a website that lists the many interesting tours they feature such as Garden Tours, Historic Homes, African-American History, Plantation Tours and Clinton Library excursions. AD goes out to Oaklawn Casino in Hot Springs, to wineries, Caverns and Passion Plays. They have a trolley they use for weddings, events & tours. They are an excellent hospitality company to utilize to enhance any visit to Little Rock with their stimulating offerings of fun, yet educational things to do. 5 YELP STARS.

The bus arrived with our guests in time (but later than the expected time) for the wedding, but the return service was not what we agreed upon. There were to be 3 return pick up times: 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 pm. The bus left Cold Springs sometime after 8:30 and did not return until 10:00, leaving many of our guests stranded and waiting for the return ride (9:00) for over an hour. When it finally did arrive, the bus ended up overcrowded (people standing in the aisle) and the air conditioning did not work. Several guests commented that the bus swerved around the road and one guest politely asked the driver to stay on the right side of the road. One guest suggested that the driver was not comfortable driving such a larger vehicle. Fortunately, our guests were safely delivered to the hotel, but the ride was more than frightening for many of them. We were disappointed in this service, for which we paid over $1,000. We would not recommend them to future brides.

The sculptures run pretty much the length of the river. Just when you think you have reached the end, another one pops up. I took photos of many of the sculptures, but there was no way I would have gotten all of them. I found one sculpture in the series, titled STEADY, all the way down by the Clinton Library. Fitting it is of Bill Clark, who the park that the sculpture sits in front of is named after. If you are looking to get more bang for your buck, you will find a high concentration of sculptures around the XIX Amendment Plaza in the Park. Parking to see this garden is relatively simple. You can find metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance of the section of the Garden you want to see. The meters run from 8AM to 6PM and are free all other times. The Garden began in 2004, with around 30 sculptures, but is always expanding. A piece is selected to be added annually. Most recently in November 2022 they added a sculpture of Daisy Bates, a civil rights activist, publisher, and journalist who played a pivotal role in the fight for civil rights in Little Rock. This Garden is free and open to the public which is awesome. I have paid to see much less. They have some real nice pieces in this Garden but my favorites were Breaking the Cycle by Kevin Kreese, Joy by Nnamdi Okonkwo, Over the Moon by Craig Campbell and Through Looking Glass by Mark Leichliter. The garden appears well maintained and I really loved the concept of bringing public art to the people. This is definitely a must see while in Little Rock. It is centrally located, so it can easily be paired with visits to other attractions to maximize your time. I highly recommend taking some time out and enjoying the art, nature are river.
