One of my favorite breweries in the area. Their beers are some of the best I've had that are brewed in Arkansas. The appetizers that they offer here are all delicious. The only con that I've experienced after visiting this place three times now is how salty the gumbo is. Don't know if it was just a rough batch the day I had it but it ruined the dish for me. Aside from that, everything else has been a great experience! Stopped into Flyway Brewing on a Saturday afternoon and was surprised by how quiet it was. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and had the music at exactly the right volume present enough to create atmosphere without making conversation difficult. Nothing felt overwhelming or overdone, which made for a relaxed experience. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Water hit the table in under two minutes, and our beers arrived in less than five. That's the kind of efficiency every restaurant should strive for. Now for the food: * Cheese Curds ($8) - These arrived piping hot and fresh from the fryer. The curds themselves were crispy but fairly bland on their own. The ranch and Mimi's Red Sauce did a lot of the heavy lifting here and elevated the dish significantly. * Queso ($8, plus $2 for chorizo) - Very basic. Not bad, but not memorable either. It tasted like melted Velveeta with a little extra liquid mixed in. Perfectly edible, just lacking any standout flavor. * Pretzel ($6) - Easily one of the highlights of the meal. They accidentally brought us the espresso pretzel first before correcting it with the plain version we ordered. Surprisingly, both were excellent. Soft, fresh, and flavorful. * Smash Burger & Fries ($17) - The fries were fantastic: hot, crispy, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. The burger itself was average--exactly what you'd expect from a mid-range brewery restaurant. Good, but not something I'd specifically come back for. * Chicken Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries ($15) - The low point of the meal. The sweet potato fries were cold, stale, and honestly should never have left the kitchen. The chicken sandwich wasn't much better. The breading was overcooked to the point of tasting burnt, and there wasn't much flavor beyond that. * Bacon-Wrapped Quail Sliders - Another average offering. Not bad by any means, but nothing that stood out or justified ordering again. The beer is clearly the star of the show here. Flyway knows how to brew, and that's what would bring me back. The food ranges from good to disappointing, with only a few items really standing out. I was excited to check this brewery out when I was visiting Little Rock. My family and I sat down at a table. The server took our drink order. He brought our drinks. We were also going to order food. However, after 10-15 minutes of not getting our order taken, we lost all hope. I went up to the bar & paid for my beer. I told the bartender that our sever was basically MIA during our entire time there. Not sure what the deal was with the server. The brewery certainly wasn't busy at the time. We went on a bingo night -- very popular, so we sat outside at the many picnic tables along the front of the restaurant. The local beer is very popular; two adults had 7 beers between them, and they also had a black raspberry low carb can that was quite tasty. Huge smoked turkey salad! Very tasty. This is a great local spot in North Little Rock that is easy to reach via the free streetcar from Little Rock. The beer selection was great so I opted for a flight, and they were all really good. Heard good things about Flyway Brewing while in town. My friend and I decided to check it out since it was only a short walk from our hotel. It's definitely a nice, chill hangout spot. We were checked on often by the servers. The gumbo cheese fries were definitely unique but delicious. Can't say I've had a slider with crispy cheddar cheese like that. Very subpar food! Waiter forgot our pickle plater all together which was the whole reason we chose to eat here. Nachos got sent back they were what you'd imagine if a toddler made them and the queso was just bagged shredded cheese melted over microwaved chips. The cheddar bomb sliders were dry, sweet potato fries were cold and limp. The flyaway fries were just sad. Kids size portion with bagged bacon bits, grey colored "duck" over cold limp fries. Super-friendly & knowledgeable staff, great beers, and really good Happy Hour options! My wife and I came in on a Friday afternoon, we loved the beers so much that we grabbed 3 6-packs on the way out. Happy hours included half price pints and some really good bar snacks... I would recommend the sampler that came with onion rings, cheese fries, chicken bites (get the dry rub!), and egg roll boudin. This place is so secure in the quality of the beer that they offer that our bartender actually recommended that we go to another place to compare: Moody Brews a couple of miles south. Traveling through the area and this place was recommended by a coworker! Staff was super friendly and attentive, we chatted while I sat at the bar. Cheese curds were very different than I've had before, instead of thick squeaky cheese like up north, it was more a light flaky crust on some cheese. Overall still delicious. The Bluewing berry wheat ale really did have a nice berry finish. The smoked turkey sandwich was above expectations for sure. Delicious smoky flavor on turkey and bacon, with creamy cheese and mayo, and fresh lettuce and tomato on top. I also tried the pickle strings, new to their menu, as it was on happy hour. It was okay, I wasn't a huge fan of the ratio of pickle to fried breading. Ambiance is cool, fun music playing and Food Network is on. Great spot to go check out if you haven't been. Eclectic beer list with something for every kind of drinker. The food is good, I really enjoyed my hot chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and cheese added. Texas toast instead of a bun is a unique choice, but it helps it to stand apart from other fried chicken sandwiches. They call it Nashville hot though which is a bit misleading, since it was not spicy in any way, and they only had Louisiana when I asked for hot sauce. Go down the street and grab some hot sauces from Firehouse! Salads were good, with ripe, fresh vegetables. Cheese dip is one of the best in town. The service is always spot on too, with everyone being friendly and helpful, it truly seems like they care about the success of the business, which makes for a very nice customer experience. Flyway Brewing is off the Argenta strip and a little tucked away from the rest of the goings ons. I stopped in to get a bite to eat on Memorial Day because some of my other local favs were closed on a Monday. Inside, they've got a pretty bright & hip vibe to the decor as well as outdoor seating options. It looks like exactly the kind of place you want to be grabbing a beer on a hot summer day. I've know and loved Flyway beers for quite a while but hadn't yet stopped in to their home bar & grill. While the service was very solid (I loved that all the bartenders shared the responsibility of serving us), the food we received left much much much to be desired. Their menu looks pretty fun and creative so I've been curious about eating here. There are fried duck tenders, soft pretzels, and nachos with crawfish. Unfortunately, the taste of their dishes didn't measure up to how it reads from the menu. When I received my crawfish nachos (literally served on a silver platter), the nacho cheese seemed to already be solidifying and hardening. My meal was lukewarm at best and probably sat beneath a heat lamp. The crawfish was scattered haphazardly atop the heap of hardening cheese sauce. Considering cheese sauce was the main topping, this didn't look very appetizing at all. I instantly felt like I'd chosen the wrong thing. But I wasn't in the mood to send anything back so I gave it a try. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed at all. Bae had the duck tenders and she didn't have any complaints but also didn't love her meal. Save your time and money and just order a case of beer to go. If you really want to eat inside, just grab a pretzel. I will remain a fan of their beer but I don't think I'll be back here to eat anything. read more

My wife had the Flyway Burger with fries and I had the Double Beef Cheddar Bombs with onion rings. Well they got the name right. The beef was like overcooked meatballs with a funky off taste. I took 2 bites and couldn't finish. The cheddar skirt was good tho, so not a total loss. The onion rings were greasy like they sat around under a heat lamp but they were warm. The fermented baby carrots (3) were a surprise. It took me a minute to decide if I liked 'em, turns out I do. I wasn't expecting fizzy carrots. Wife's fries were good, her Burger only covered 60% of the bun. She was done with the beef before she got to the tomato. Service was good and the art is cool. Hope it was a off day. Such a cool brewery! We came here on a quiet Wednesday afternoon so there wasn't much going on. Tried the Bluewing Berry Wheat and it was great! Staff said it's one of their most popular beers and I can see why. I'm not the biggest fan of the fruit beer category but I was a fan of this. We came after lunch so I wasn't hungry but they were featured on Triple D. I'm going to have to come back to try their food next time I'm in Little Rock. Our favorites were the key lime gose (refreshing and bright with sufficient body-- actual key lime flavor, also, but not too sweet) and the brown ale (a dank, dark brown in an age of middle-of-the-road browns). We didn't get food except for a pretzel (sriracha salt, which could have been more sriracha than it was-- it was decent but nothing to write home about, and the sweet dipping sauce of whatever variety was also a nice complement to the slightly spicy salt). Mymom had the pretzel with honey mustard. She enjoyed it. I ordered the fried pickles. To start, I am all about ordering fried pickles almost everywhere that has them. Had the most amazing experience at flyways brewing. The indoor atmosphere is nice and cozy but we sat outside in their pet friendly space. There were umbrellas and tents to block the sun and they brought out bowls of water for all the pups there. They had corn hole set up out there as well and provided table service. The beers were delicious but what surprised me the most was the absolute stellar culinary experience that I was not expecting from a brewery. The pretzels were amazing and I got the venison and goat cheese sliders with a blueberry compote. Well educated and friendly staff. I highly recommend this spot! read more

The beer here is absolutely the best. I had tripel, it was so malty and rich, high in alcohol and knocked your socks off. My husband had a West Coast IPA and was so pleased with the taste. I wish they would bottle and sell it out west. Jack our server was a jewel, he talked with us for quite some time and made us feel so welcomed. This spot is such a great find in North Little Rock, just over the river. We first visited one year ago on our first trip to the city. We were able to walk over the river easily to visit! The beer is very good and the atmosphere matches. I love the variety of food to snack on while visiting too (love the sliders & the wings)! 75% of the time we are sitting inside, but their outdoor spot is a great way to enjoy the awesome weather.
