There are some upgrades and the same ploy to relieve you of your coins if you are cashing a check, using the western union service or any of the other myriad of services they offer. During a peak time only two people were working and I use the term working loosely. The mentality that this may be some people's only option shouldn't warrant poor service. When people learn to trust banks and credit unions they may opt to divorce currency exchanges.

Without even looking at my paperwork I was told "The system for transferring titles has been down all weekend." I doubted that. Funny enough I went to a location on Chicago Ave. the same afternoon and was done in about 20 min. Best part is I thanked the girl at Chicago Ave. for helping me since I'd been turned away. She asked where. She told me that was their sister store! She complained to the district mgr. for me! Skip this location and go to Chicago Ave. You'll get courtesy, professionalism and customer service there.

Danger! Do not go here. I went here to cash a check. This lady asked me estranged questions about…read morewhy I chose this currency exchange based on where I live in the city. She then asked for me to place my social security number on the check while she already had my drivers license in her possession. I began to videotape at that moment as this was her attempt at an identity theft. She yelled "Wait what are you doing? Why are you video-tapping? I can't continue the transaction. You just messed up the whole transaction." -I bet 100% She was never on videotape by my personal device. Only my check was and what I was doing with the pen and my hands to the check. She provided no reasoning for any of her inquiries, or why she stopped the transaction. When this location was called she refused to offer her name. Subsequent calls were not answered at all. There should be an option for no stars. This happened on February. 24, 2024 at around 10:30 am-11:10 am.

However during my transaction The "teller" took a personal phone call. The person on the other end asked if it was ok to talk now. The teller told her yes but in spanish.I said trying because she was unable to perform the task while speaking in the phone. I told her she needed to ask the caller to call her back. She told me it was an "important" phone call. I decided to take my transaction and money elsewhere. Before leaving I asked to speak to the person in charge. The teller wrote down a phone number with the name Liz. When I returned to my car, I called the number. Guess who answered saying Liz wasn't in today? She also informed me that she couldn't talk to me because she had a customer. I gather she can only talk on the phone about personal business when she has a customer at the window. Perhaps Liz or whoever runs this establishment can let their inform their employees to refrain from taking personal phone calls while waiting on customers. If McDonald's employees cant do it, currency exchange employees shouldn't either. There are plenty of currency exchanges is all over the city of Chicago where one can conduct business. I feel really horrible for the people who have to go to this establishment because they don't have transportation to go anywhere else. I will not return.

When my turn came I was told....without even looking at my paperwork....that the transaction would take at least 1/2 hour and it would create too big of a wait for other customers, come back tomorrow. I appreciate the concern for everyone's time but what about my own wait to be told that? How about put up a notice you choose not to do certain advertised services at certain times so I don't waste my own time.
