**MARTA IS AN ARTIST** I moved to Woodland in 2021 and it was harder for me to drive to Marta, so I tried someone else and I was disappointed with my results that I did not color or cut my hair for almost 2 years. MARTA IS WORTH THE DRIVE ALL THE WAY FROM WOODLAND. My hair was so dry on top of being super thin and fine. I wasn't sure if my hair could handle going blonde again. I just want to let everyone know what a great experience I had at this salon on Friday. My appointment was with stylist Anna Johnson for blonde highlights and a trim. Anna went above and beyond giving me exactly what I ask for but, also was so warm and welcoming in spite of my disability. She assisted me with getting in and out of my vehicle and also in and out of the salon chairs. Such kindness is hard to find. My hair looks and feels amazing. Prices are reasonable. I hate to do this but I am very disappointed in my experience with Kayla. This is not a reflection on the salon itself but rather a stylist. I made an appointment for March 28th, 2023 at 2pm after finding Kayla online and exchanging a few texts. At 11:30a the day of the appointment (2.5 hours before my appointment) I received a text that she had to cancel because she had pneumonia. I was very understanding and eventually able to get in to see her a little over a week later when someone canceled. And I must say I was super happy with my hair....even gave her a $50 tip on a $180ish dollar service. I felt so relieved to find someone close to home, my new home, as I just moved to Jackson 1 year ago. I pretty quickly scheduled my next appointment once I knew my schedule and that was for May 24th. I work night shift in the Bay Area and woke up early, forgoing sleep to get in to see Kayla before my commute and had an appointment for 11:30am. At 10:50am I had gotten a text that she AGAIN was canceling now because of a family emergency. When I arrived to the salon, I didn't even know she had sent a text. One of the stylist greeted me and said she would be right out. Then while sitting in the salon I saw the text and asked them if it was possible that she wasn't there but, the stylist that greeted me was convinced she was. The owner advised she wasn't there and that was that. It is April the 5th and still no text or call from Kayla despite me reaching out to her via text. It's a little surprising that if I cancel an appointment in a 24 hour window before my appointment I would have to pay in full. But if the stylist cancels within 40 minutes or 2.5 hours....I don't get anything. Not even a courtesy text or call to get me in with her or someone else. read more

Let me start by saying that I believe you have to schedule with the stylist/hairdresser directly,which is what I did. I chose the hairstylist I scheduled with because she advertised that she works with mature women's hair,that was what I wanted. My first appointment was scheduled due to her child being I'll,then the 2nd appointment was cancelled because her child was diagnosed with Covid,so obviously not going to see her for a bit lol. Finally,I was scheduled for yesterday but sadly this appointment was cancelled AGAIN? Third time was not a charm sad to say. I was so looking forward to getting my hair done by this stylist but as I said it didn't happen. I cannot comment about other stylists connected to this salon but I'm sure they're all good as the salon is rated 5 stars and I'm not saying that this particular stylist is bad...I'm just very disappointed that my appointment was cancelled 3 times! So needless to say, I will not be using this stylist or this salon. read more

It sure is hard to find a good stylist, but I did. Now, I only had a short little styling appointment, but I can say I will be back. Yolanda is very professional and works fast. She's extremely friendly and if you check out her IG page (which is where I found her) you will be impressed. The last 3 stylists/colorsts I've tried cost me a ton of money in fix-its and just didn't have the experience I had hoped for. My thick-ass, long, damaged hair is difficult to deal with, but Yolanda didn't seem to be phased at all. I would highly recommend Yolanda. I also found a way to book online which was so easy, and includes pricing and time estimates. I'm going to be back for my next style in a week or so. I'm very pleased. After moving to the Sac area and going through 12+ hair stylists, I was finding myself driving to Mid-town hoping for a decent cut, but only feeling ripped off by pretentious salons that literally ripped the fine hair from my head. I can honestly say Yolanda is my go-to lady from now on. She is awesome, cuts the way I want it and charges very reasonably. I'm pretty simple in the fact that a good, clean, solid cut should stand alone-and she does exactly that! And the salon is much larger once you step inside, and super cute! read more
