I used Fil as my photographer for my wedding in August. Planning with him went well but the day of…read moremy wedding I was disappointed with him. While my bridesmaids and I were getting ready and he was supposed to be photographing them, he was chatting and hanging out. I had to ask him, as well as other people to please take photos of my bridesmaids getting ready. Which in the end I only had a couple pics. Then later on at the wedding he took photos of my immediate family and myself in the street, so we have lines and the street in my wedding photos. While taking those photos we asked him numerous times to stand on the grass by the gazebo for better pics and he said "I know what I'm doing." Well he didn't, and I hate the photos. After I received my photos back which was very quick, I was very disappointed. Many of my bridal party pics have an orange tarp on the fence in the background. While he was taking photos he should have told us to move positions or told us about the tarp so I could have had someone take it down. I feel a professional would have said something instead of letting all of my pics get ruined. Instead when I brought this up to him, he basically blamed it on me for picking the place the photos were being taken. I also put down that I would like photos of guests at tables, and I have none. I was very disappointed because many of my guests were older and now i have no photos of them since they weren't dancing. His excuse was that he was only one photographer. I would understand this but there were times when he was standing there and easily could have taken a few photos of the tables and he didn't. I also have numerous photos of the same people dancing. It looks like he only took during a couple of songs because I see the same people in the same positions in most of the dancing photos. My mother passed away a few years ago and I made a memorial table, he did not take one photo of this. I was very upset about my experience and would not recommend Fil to anyone looking for a photographer. I feel he didn't want to listen to suggestions and made excuses for all of my complaints. I told him about the backgrounds and he never fixed them, he only edited a couple of photos but did not fix my main concerns. I can't even make a nice photo album because there are so many problems with the photos, and I do not have photos of most of my guests. It's very upsetting, and I had to have my husband photoshop the background of a ton of photos for me.

Her creativity is outstanding. She is also a very nice person. She is funny and very relaxed at her work. We all felt so at ease with her. Not just because he was a long time friend, though that was part of it, but because we honestly believed he's the best that we've seen out of the MANY different wedding photographers we've heard of and known. And we've been to MANY weddings in the last 3 years. That's not a knock to other photographers, who are also amazing, but Albert, we felt, was our guy. Albert is such an in-demand photographer because people know of the quality and amazing photos that he takes. He told us in our initial face-to-face meeting that he is a natural light photographer that focuses on capturing the moments of the wedding as they are, so you can feel and see what it was actually like to be there. And he ABSOLUTELY captured that! And we are so grateful we have these amazing memories through photos. It's an eternal gift that my wife and I will remember for the rest of our lives and we have Albert and his amazing crew to thank for it. For our ceremony, he got great pictures of every single part of it, including shots of all our musicians and every person involved in helping to make our wedding possible. Pricing and Packages During our initial meeting, Albert gave us a breakdown of different packages he offered that varied by how many photographers and how many digital stills would be included at a particular price point. He also offered types of printed albums from his vendor that guarantees a certain shelf-life of photos without major degradation of paper quality over time. He had samples he showed us of PHENOMENAL quality books. The glossiness, the look, the feel, were all top notch and beautiful and were masterpieces of capturing special moments during their weddings. We chose to have another photographer per Albert's suggestion since one person can only be at one place at one time, so it's hard to expect just Albert to capture every moment. With his second photographer, Justin, who was the nicest guy in the world, he said he would be able to capture many more moments for us, which was definitely the case! Albert and Justin scoped out the area for us before our wedding so he'd know ahead of time where we should go to get some great couple and wedding party shots. He covered the whole gamut of group shots of the groomsmen, the bridesmaids, individual shots of the wedding party, family photos, our ceremony, and the reception. We finally just got our huge, gigundo, leather-bound, ridiculous photo album that will last something like 100 years because it's printed on special photo paper. I don't even fully understand it, but it's unbelievable and looks utterly stunning and amazing. With our package we purchased, Albert also gave us a lifetime online access to our photos to be reprinted at any time according to our leisure and also sent us digital copies by e-mail link to download hard copies of them to keep for ourselves too. After checking out some different photographers and various recommendations I chose Jonsar. The photos were fabulous as I expected. But beyond that, we had such a great time. Kat and Rob made the shoot so much fun and put us totally at ease. We brought the dog with us and they had so much patience with him. Amber Marlowe Blatt is a nice person who needs to find a new line of work…read more I'll post a full review of my experiences with her, but here is the quick summary: - We hired her twice. The first time, she did great work. We were happy. - We hired her again a year later, to take family photos. She did the shoot. She showed me some of the work through the viewfinder and said it was wonderful. And then she called me a week later and told me that she had LOST *ALL* OF THE IMAGES! Gone. Zero. I do marketing for a living and have hired perhaps twenty photographers in my life for over a hundred photo shoots. This is the first time I had ever heard of someone losing the work for a day's session. It just doesn't happen, because it is the ultimate badge of disgrace for a photographer. So what happened? She said she was sharing her studio with some folks doing a different project, they had taken a memory card from her desk, thought it was blank, etc. There are some serious issues here -- why is someone who bills as a professional letting other people grab memory cards from her desk? Why is she selling her time for hundreds of dollars and then pulling the memory card out -- representing not just her efforts but the time and energy a family takes to coordinate schedules and dress the kids -- and then not bothering to push the write protect tab? Why is she shooting on digital media and not bothering to make a copy of the work before charging in on other projects? Or, if she is running to an emergency, can't make a copy, you might at least write on the card with a Sharpie and say "do not use" or write the date of the session or write anything? Anything at all? We could debate this over and over. But someone who can't secure their digital work should not be shooting events for a living. You cannot "redo" a wedding. You cannot "redo" a birthday or bar mitzvah or other major life event. If you care about getting quality work, you should not be hiring this person. So that was the worst phone call ever -- "Hi, it's Amber, whoops, sorry, nothing left." And then, to add insult to injury, she apologized and offered "to do the shoot again without charging us." Are you f'ing serious? That was basically offering nothing. Of course she can't charge us for a second shoot. We had paid for the first shoot, spent our time and energy, and gotten zip out of it. Through her clear and pure incompetence. And then she did the second shoot and the images were poor. We couldn't and didn't use any of them. There were even instances in the second shoot when I said things to her like "are you sure we are centered under the sign" and Amber said yes, yet we were not. Bad image. Same thing with the sunlight -- "are you sure there won't be too much shadow at this time of day?" Amber said we were okay. We were not. She clearly didn't want to do the shoot a second time, or take the time to make it right, when she knew we weren't going to use her again. So -- sorry Amber. Nice person. Needs a new job. Ben
