I called they stated someone would be there before 10am, that the servicemen were helping with a water heater. I explained that I had an appointment in Yankton as I'm disabled, I rely on other means of transportation (elderly bus), and the service man that called me said he was running late and wouldn't be there in time, to call in when I was on my way home. I did call when I was on my way home and the lady that answered said she would tell Mason the on-call service man, I got a call back from very rude person that told me " mason dose not handle the appointments and that you had your chance this morning you didn't leave your house unlocked and the soonest we can get to you now is tomorrow." As you can imagine this made me very mad and I yelled at him, told him my house was unlocked and I was following what the on-call tech asked me to do. he told me I wasn't a nice person, I said No not at the moment I'm tired. I haven't slept because of the heat in my house, and he hung up on me, then called me back and said they were going to refund my service contract fees and not service my equipment again. We have used Opsahl-Kostel twice now for our family. Our Dad passed in 2008 and didn't want any…read moreservices. Mom passed just 2 months ago and we decided to have just a small family-only gathering. We also decided to add Dad in since we never formally grieved his death. Opsahl was very kind and accommodating and Kevin made some excellent suggestions that made the service even better. The reason I gave them only 2 stars is because of what happened after the services. The first issue we had was that the songs listed in the program were wrong. We did make a change the day of the service - about 5 hours ahead of time - so we understood that maybe they didn't have time to fix that (even though it was a relatively easy fix. Clearly the programs are just printed off a regular color printer and folded - I wouldn't think that would be too much trouble). Later we received laminated copies of the programs - which looked really nice but contained the wrong information. They completely omitted one of the songs and they also had Mom's birthday wrong. My sister made them aware of these errors and said they were pretty rude to her. They did not offer to make any corrections. I thought maybe management wasn't aware of these issues so I wrote to Kevin Opsahl and told him. This was about 10 days ago and I still haven't heard anything back. I even asked them to give me the Word file (or whatever they used) and I would make to corrections myself and also get them laminated. I mean, these programs will be in our family for generations - we would like to have the information correct. Nothing but crickets. So while they are very nice people and were helpful to us prior to the service, I am very surprised at the lack of response by Opsahl-Kostel and will probably not use or recommend their services in the future.

The night before the incident Klein's called my neighbor and said they would be there the next day. I was still uninformed and was until I thought the weedeating was going on too long outside and was definitely in my yard, not the neighbors. They didnt knock on the door, they didnt warn me, they didnt ask me to move my plants or let me know I would be trapped inside my home. I am disabled and the ramp was blocked. When I first saw what was happening I went out and was shocked, half my garden was buried in trees, my potted plants looked destroyed. I yelled(so they could hear me) "did you even try to be careful?" and the response was curt and rude. Something along the lines of him being unable to control where stuff fell. With a warning I could have tried to lessen the damage or left, I actually missed a Dr appt because of this. I tried to watch more and snapped a couple pictures and a branch fell right outside the door. After a while they left and I went out to see what happened to everything. They had intentionally caused more damage by stacking cut lumber on a previously unaffected part of the garden. I then called and was hung up on. I had gone to facebook to post my review and post up on a couple local groups about the poor service and the guy threatened to sue me for slander. Again... DO NOT USE!
