Discount for paying with cash Rather than giving each other gifts that may or may not be useful/desired, my spouse and I elected to gift ourselves a spa day at 5 Elements. We chose the Anniversary Bliss Package, which includes a truly spectacular facial, hot stone massage, and CBD foot treatment, as well as a relaxing lounge to hang out and toast a successful marriage and consume complimentary drinks and cake. When I called to inquire about the specifics, the phone was answered promptly and all my questions were answered, including the ability to substitute sparkling water for mimosas, and choose a cake flavor for our optimal enjoyment. Our day was incredibly relaxing; the spa treatments were excellent and the staff was professional and skilled. As we did not consume the entire cake during our visit it was very thoughtfully packaged and held for us at the desk so we could take it with us and prolong the celebration at home. WOW! 5 Elements is a new business on Bardstown Road, and there is much more than you might imagine if you were to just walk or drive by. Haircuts, hair coloring, waxing, massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, threading, body treatments, and more. Salon and spa treatments are as much about the people providing the service as the services themselves. The people here are friendly and interested in building the relationships needed to be successful. I walked in off the street for a haircut and I got much, much more. I was greeted warmly as I walked in the door and was immediately engaged. After a few questions to make sure we were on the same page, Dalmin got me cleaned up. Everyone was very nice - Dalmin did an outstanding job and was very engaging - and there is so much going on at this salon and spa. There are different areas for different services, and everything is new, and clean, and well done! This is the place to go for just about any pampering needed, for one-on-one care of wedding party or group prom preps. They are still building out with new spaces being prepared for above the salon and spa. With CBD hot oil scalp massages, 5 Elements is staying on the leading edge. I have been dealing with neck and shoulder pain. My mom gets massages frequently in Mount Washington, so I decided I'd look for a place closer to my home in Louisville. With a quick search on yelp, I found this place and was able to get in touch with the owner quickly on Yelp which was very efficient! He worked with my availability and got me in that day. I was greeted with warmth and given something to fill out, indicating my problem areas and a bit of medical history. I was offered a mimosa (which was delicious) and shown around the massage rooms. My massage therapist was very nice! I payed for a deep tissue massage with cbd oil & hot stones. I would not say this was a deep tissue massage, or that my problem areas were focused on so I was a bit disappointed. I did get some relief, and my massage therapist taught me a lot about different trigger points I didn't know which is why I still feel it was a positive experience. I will probably search for a massage that can focus on my upper back and is a true deep tissue massage next time, but over all customer service is great and the salon is very clean. read more

Unfortunately, I had an awful awful experience. What was supposed to be a relaxing birthday morning with my girlfriends turned into a very uncomfortable and awful start to the day. Im not entirely sure my person even had the proper massage training and according to the feedback from my two friends with me, theirs either. Plastic gloves were worn which was the most uncomfortable feeling. On top of that, I would call the "massage" more of a brushing motion of the hands. She was flying through it and wouldn't even complete the motions before moving onto the next arm, etc. There was absolutely no "massaging" to this massage. Completely hoodwinked. $120 completely down the drain. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. If I could give 0 stars I will. I will give the 1 star to the receptionist as she was the sweetest lady and only reason I feel bad leaving this review. read more

Dropped in today for a 30-minute pedicure. The place was very clean and the staff was very friendly. However, once all was said and done, I paid nearly $50 and all I can say is that a picture is worth $1000 - I've had a lot of pedicures over the years, and this does not look like a foot that's had a $50 pedicure less than 12 hours ago. Disappointed, as my poor feet needed some TLC and this was a splurge. That being said, their other services may be wonderful, but its probably worth it to seek your pedis elsewhere. read more

I unfortunately discovered yelp long after May 23 2019. The photos posted where taken after my experience with this salon, as I took them to send to you in a text. I will post a before photo. My appointment that day was at 4p approximately....I sat with bleach on my "already damaged" hair until 6:45pm. I did not want to have my hair cut, as I expressed I recently had a trim. 4 inches was hacked off because the ends of my hair was beyond repair, yes I was charged for this! You offered a refund for the hair cut, true. I called the next day and was shuffled off over a period of 3 weeks....the owner was on vacation....the office manager...a second office manager...again back to the owner. One word dear owner......Integrity. Not such a "funny" word. If my hair was so damaged.....why did I sit that long with bleach? Apparently it was not so damaged as to withstand bleach for that amount of time. I was told during 6 consultations at the priciest salons in this city, that, I am still lucky to even have hair on my head! Many of these salons refused. I was able to find a salon to help, and over the course of 6 months, I was able to salvage this disaster. Apologies for the delay in my posting, as I had bigger concerns at the time. I'm particular picky when it comes to getting my eyebrows done since I've had some bad experiences prior. I have now gotten my eyebrows threaded and tinted a few times here and they always come out fantastic. My concerns are always acknowledged and they are genuine in trying to help with some suggestions on which would be best with my facial features. Also, anything that is done, is in a step by step process and making sure that I do like them before making it more permanent. For example, leaving the tinting dye on for a few minutes, seeing if I want to go darker or stay with the shade they are at. It's an excellent approach and they make sure to minimize mistakes. Always clean and very friendly staff too! Update: Just be sure to ask the price of the work up front. I noticed every single time I went there and get the same thing, eyebrow threading and a tint, I was charged a much different price varying from $30-$45. read more

I'm not exactly sure where the positive reviews that have been left come into play because this was the absolute worst experience for myself and two friends. Upon arrival, they take you to a room upstairs that is dimly lit with black trash bags covering the windows, a pool table, a bar and random seating- we did not feel that we were in any "spa" like atmosphere. The room I was placed in was the size of a closet, the bed barely fit in the space sideways and there was not any space/shelf for me to even place my belongings- the lights around the mirror were so bright I could not even begin to relax and the woman barely had space herself to move around. I also noticed when I got home that the woman had spilled some type of oil on my clothing that has stained and will not come out. My "massage" consisted of oil being spread around on my arms and legs, they did not ask if there were any areas that I wanted to be focused on (ex: my back, neck & shoulders were the focus areas I circled on the form along with medium pressure but I don't even think they read it), the hand and foot towels were so hot it felt like they were burning my skin, the wax they put on your hands and feet were still flaking off my skin afterwards, there was no pressure applied during the massage and it was just uncomfortable. We had scheduled and paid for a one hour massage but it felt so rushed that it could not have lasted longer than 30/45 minutes. I'm not sure what type of training is given but, this was the worst massage I have ever had and my two friends had similar experiences. I cannot say this enough, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I completely felt robbed of my $120 that this cost me and will never be returning or recommending to ANYONE. I needed a last minute haircut and they were able to fit me in. I get super anxious seeing new people but it was so relaxing I almost fell asleep! One of the most beautiful full service salons I've been to. Natalie absolutely rocked my haircut and was one of the nicest people! I went in a few weeks before the 4th of July. I went for my birthday which was June 14th as my daughter had booked a massage. The day before I went in to do lash extensions. I wasn't exactly happy with the final look as I had wanted more volume but the tech said that she would do my fill in free. So I agreed, it did cost men180.00 total with tip. When I came back for my massage the next day, that to was great. So I was leaving for Florida on the 3rd so I scheduled to do my fill in and my fill in for my lashes on the 27th. I ended up having to cancel that Thursday due to cancelling my Florida trip and I had decided to go with my daughter and grandkids to French Lick , Indiana. So when I cancelled i asked if at that time they could reschedule for the following Saturday, I was told by the owner that she didn't know if the girl would be available to do my lashes. She told me that if I didn't hear from her to call back. So I thought that was kind of rude telling me that I would need to call back to determine if she could do my lashes, instead of her advising me. I called today and tried to explain what I was calling for and all I kept hearing from the male owner was "Did you get charged for not cancelling"? I kept saying No, that I felt like the female owner treated me like shit on the phone that day. And I was trying to reschedule my appointment. He tells me to hold on and says something to the female owner (as they are husband and wife) and then they hung up on me. Moral of this story is they are great when your in the salon spending money but god forbid you cancel your appointment and get treated like shit. The owner kept saying..." your the one that didn't Cancel your appointment right? " I said No I did cancel, I spoke to her on Thursday and I cancelled when she called to remind me of the appointment. I cancelled then. A few days before my actual appointment. So initially you will be treated very well, as the female owner was extremely nice and caring etc but as soon as I said that I needed to reschedule, she was pissed and the hell with me. That is no way to run a business nor is it anyway to treat paying customers especially one who just spent 180 on eyelash extensions and 200.00 on a massage that my daughter Emma paid for. I purchased the platinum package couples massage for my boyfriend's birthday and we really enjoyed our time at 5 Elements! We loved the room where you wait before the massage and have mimosas which were very good. The look of the salon was very nice, just as pictured, and seemed very clean and well kept. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and professional. The woman at the front desk is wonderful and so friendly as well as the man who took us to the event room and served our mimosas. I appreciated that he made a point to wish my bf happy birthday. Our massage was very relaxing and the massage therapists stayed on the same pace so we started and finished at the same time which was really nice. We loved all the aspects of heat that were worked into the massage as well! I do wish there was an option for deep tissue, so if that's what I was looking for I would probably go somewhere else.
