However, since Texas is an oil producing state, I was surprised that everywhere in the area was $3.09 + / gallon. I was not able to check in here because the store did not have Circle N advertised, but only Shell Food Mart. And, a general Yelp search by gas stations did not reveal the store. It was only when I got my receipt and looked at it, and typed in Circle N, did the business show up.

Theres nothing else within walking distances, so this it and it aint bad. Gas is cheap, and the country folk a warm friendly and caring. Riding my bike from cali, it was 38 degrees and a guy gave me a heavy duty reflective rain jacket to get through to florida, thank you. Thats the kind of folks that live in fort Stockton. They even have a bulk section with a lot of spices, so that was nice. It is a little bit pricey but I guess that's the cost to pay to be autonomous in the desert for a few days. Definitely the best stop you can make before Big Bend National Park.
