With no shortage of amazing Indian food in the Lynnwood and Everett areas, we can't help but want to try them allllll . So when the opportunity arose to share a Friday night dinner with family, we opted to try 5 Rivers Indian Cuisine, a family owned and run restaurant in Everett on Evergreen Way near 4th Avenue, specializing in Punjabi and Mediterranean cuisine! They have lots of amazing options to choose from. While nothing is specifically labeled vegan, they do have many vegetarian options I found them to be very accommodating to our vegan dietary needs. I've almost never met a Grape Leaf dish I didn't like so I had to try their version. They did an amazing job with the aesthetics, using a creamy vegan tahini sauce to really bring this dish to that next level. I also ordered Baba Ghannoj. Surprisingly, they advised their pita bread is not vegan but they gladly substituted roti instead, super flavorful and great mix of textures dancing around on the palette. For a main dish, I heard their "Vegetarian Thali" dish calling to me (but thankfully, it didn't call me Seymour .. .. .. ), giving me the opportunity to try a myriad of flavors and combinations. Given that a couple of components weren't vegan, they were graciously able to accommodate .. and provide me with a fully vegan ncombination of (from left to right) Aloo Chana, Dal Maharanji, Aloo Gobi, Basmati Rice and more delicious roti bread. Everything was delicious and super filling, I had to take a lot home with me. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend dropping by to try their flavorful mixture of Punjabi and Mediterranean inspired dishes!

Friendly family owned business. Our first time trying Indian Cuisine in general and this was a great and tasty introduction. The food was flavorful, the mango lassi was delicious, and the chai at the end was too!

We finally found a good Indian place in Everett! We've been looking for an Indian place for a looong time. We've tried multiple places and they just weren't it. This place is it. We live near by and have been to the Mexican place next to it multiple times. Today we decided to try out 5 rivers and we're so happy we did. The food was so fresh and full of flavor, the staff was all very nice and attentive, and the place was busy! I got the chicken tikka masala but I heard lots of people order a lamb dish. I have to check that out next time. The had huge portions my wife and I had to take left overs home. I'll have to come back more often now that we know it's this good!

This place has been on my radar for a few years... Roughly since they opened. Right down the street from me is a good local spot by the name of Curries but I am always looking for something new, even if it's in the same category. Quick tangent, but years ago there was a nice spot in Downtown Everett whose name I cannot recall that had an amazing lunch special. Like for $5, they had a Masala Chaat, with rice, naan and a drink. I used to love frequenting but it's been gone for years so.... Anywho. Back to the main character that is Five Rivers Indian Cuisine. As you walk in you'll be hit with classic jabs, punches and slaps of aromatics, spices and the uniqueness of many Indian restaurants. It was empty but a good sign was the counter. Ladened with several orders of either pick up or the all too common door-dasherie' that's commonplace these days. I always try to do a good amount of reconnaissance before I order, having an idea of what I wanted but also wanting to try something I've yet to experience. Panipuri has been something that has been in my imagination and salivations for a long time. Now this place has a different variation of it, called Gol Gappe but it is still close enough to be an introduction, considering the plethora of videos I've seen. The start of my conquest was the classic Butter chicken. Now quick pause; you can select any protein available, from chicken, lamb, fish or shrimp plus any I might have forgotten. I asked for medium spicy and it had enough kick for me to get one less spicy next time I visit. The next dish was their Lamb Biryani. That was the same level of spicy and the same thing goes; less spicy. Now, instead of the usual naan or garlic naan, I always go for the Keema. It is naan stuffed with lamb and spices. It's always been my favorite and this was a great choice. I finished out my order with the Gol Gappe. It is similar to panipuri, I assume but the mixture was a potato and chickpea mixture accompanied by a tamarind sauce. My total was around $60, not including tip and then an additional order of a couple cans of coke to which i purchased after my food was ready and picked up after waiting 15-20 minutes. After I got home, I set up my little sport and got ready for my initial peeping and sample of what I had ordered. First was the Gol Gappe. From what I seen online of the panipuri offspring, the little pocket pouches are usually;y fried and puff up from the cooking and process. These however were premade or manufactured, due to the little pressed inventions on its body. a little disappointing but not the end of the world and it still delivered an experience that I was looking for. The potato-chickpea mixture was very subtle and soft with a very bland yet nice flavor. After cracking the top of the Gol Gappe pocket, I spooned in some of the mixture and then poured in the tamarind sauce. The bite was very sensuous and refreshing. The textures melded well together and the sweetness of the tamarind sauce or juice brought it what gave me i good idea how the barometer for this dish or snack can be. I had a like three or four before I moved on to the entrees. I was happy. Next was the Lamb Biryani. Now I've had biryani before, with goat and at a different venue and it was light and fluffy. This was a different variation entirely. It was a heavy box so I knew I would be having leftovers for the next few days, which is always a plus. when I opened the box I was immediately hit with a powerful aroma of the Lamb and the accompanying spices. It was very dark, almost like a soy sauce fried rice color and the steam was rising like it came straight from the pan. The lamb was huge. Thick hunks and chunky cuts that were well seasoned and dotted all throughout. I placed a decent portion in my bowl. The flavor was WOW. And remember when I said less spicy next? Yeah, it had kick. It was not overwhelming and you can taste the lamb and the spices plus the rice but the flavor of the spiciness lets you know you you're eating some heat!!! The dish came with a little to go ramekin of a yogurt sauce which definitely helped calm it down but I ended up using it all and will have to get more the next time.

Open for eating in the last five months, definitely put 5 Rivers on your radar! The owner was an executive chef at the Cedars and Saffron and now is the executive chef at his own restaurant! If you like delicious Indian Food and plenty of it, this is the place to go. There's plenty of seating and the servers are family creating a nice family atmosphere. We had a variety of delicious dishes, Tikka Masala, Butter Masala and Coconut Curry. All unique and delish!! Really, go there...you won't regret it!

My family and I came here the day they opened and it's been our number one spot since! The food is outstanding, the customer service is excellent, and the restaurant is clean. Whether it's take out or dine in, it's everything you could want when you eat out.

got the coconut curry and the butter masala with Garlic Naan and a mango lassi!!

The food was absolutely amazing!! Everything was so perfect. We highly recommend this restaurant. We travel from stanwood/arlington area to come here!! It's great for dates and birthday gatherings. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options too!! The best mango lassi i have ever tasted. I will think about it until next time. The owners and the waiters are so nice and friendly definitely will be back soon.

Butter Masala - Chicken Garlic Naan

Went here on a whim feeling like Indian and it did not disappoint! Nice open dining room, butter chicken/lamb were both fantastic and their garlic naan is really flavorful. We learned that it's single family owned and the son was our server. Very nice and fast service. Definitely worth returning and love supporting a family business!

    Butter Masala - Chicken

The food, service and restaurant are all great. The crackling fire on the tv's created a cozy and warm ambiance on a stormy day. The bar isn't open other than serving beer and they don't put ice in the water. However they recently opened to indoor seating and those were the 2 negativities. We ordered the garlic naan, butter masala with chicken and coconut curry with lamb. It was all so good!

The ambience is minimalistic and nothing to write home about. We ordered mimosas, which was crispy and tasty and the chai was hot and delicious.. however, the main course was a disappointment. The Harli chicken as well as the tandoori chicken that we ordered lacked flavor. The Meti paneer was good, but not great. I happen to visit the restroom and so paper tissue strewn all around. It was a bit of a turn off. At the end of the meal we had to chase down our waiter for the bill. Keeping in mind all these factors, I would not recommend this restaurant and would advise to get your Indian fix somewhere else.

I came across Hello India and got their Chowrasta Chicken 65 Biryani. This was an amazing biryani with sufficient quantity. It also had a bone in chicken piece (which I'm not sure if it's expected or not) in addition to the creamy chicken 65 Biryani. The rice and chicken were both flavorful and the quantity is enough for 2x times. I did find it a bit on the pricier side with regular pack cost of $20.87 after tax. I hope they keep the size of the biryani the same and look at reducing the price to be competitive with other places around. Overall a must try and will likely repeat.
