We asked recommendations from the server and picked the beef samosas, garlic basil naan and butter chicken. I really liked both dishes except the chicken in the curry was dark meat that I don't like much personally. This dish was my friend choice so no complaint. The curry had great flavor and hotter than medium heat at other places per my experience. The garlic basil naan was soft not crispy outside not too garlicky, really good, not sure why basil as I didn't taste it all. The baked samosa was perfect with thick skin that held soft ground beef and green peas accompanied by sweet and tangy sauce. The restaurant was unusually really warm which was a little uncomfortable. Just absolutely delicious. We ordered to go from here the other night as we were craving Indian food. My sister lives nearby but didn't know it existed as it is located in the newer plaza by the Costco parking lot in Lynnwood. We have decided we need to dine in next time because the atmosphere is warm and inviting and there are many other dishes we want to try. Food: (3/5) I got the veggie samosas and my partner got the chicken korma. The inside was savory and fluffy but the outside was a little soggy which might be from sitting in a box for a 20 minute car ride. I felt like they were just ok compared to others I've had. My partner's chicken korma was our first time ever trying the dish and we really enjoyed it! It was creamy and definitely warmed up our bodies on such a cold day. The chicken was also really tender. Service (5/5): The two girls at the front counter greeted us when we came in and were very kind when taking our order. I've been here twice now with my wife. We both really like this place. The flavor is good. For the price you get a hearty and well cooked meal. I've tried a couple different dishes now and have never been dissatisfied. The staff is very welcoming and attentive and just very nice overall. You can tell that they want you to be there, and return! The atmosphere is pretty much no-frills. That's fine with me. I'm not there to be their interior decorator or critic. Monsoon is owned and operated by the owners of Sahib that used to be down at the Edmonds waterfront. They moved to south sound for the last 15 years and recently decided to come back north. Moonsun's interior belied the suggestion of strip mall spareness the outside promised. service was attentive and subdued by both our server and the busser. meat samosa: deliciously seasoned ground beef, with curry? daal tadka: creamy with unapologetic cumin, ginger, and other spices palak paneer: i always order this at indian restaurant. highly seasoned. i would have preferred it was bit more creamier. plain naan: thin, crispy, and soft and chewy on the inside they have different naans, such as stuffed paremesan naan, stuffed paneer naan, stuffed chicken naan. a definite try-next-time naan menu. chai: cinnamon, cardamon, ginger (?), so many deeply satisfying flavors. unfortunately the high ceiling and bare floor created an echo chamber. every word and laughter by the two guests sitting 3 tables from us were magnified to nearly unbearable loudness. i wonder what kind of racket a full house would present. it was nice to taste Indian food that did not pull punches. i ask for 2 star spicy which seemed closer to 3 star but still bearable for me. this might be the 1st time I've ever been asked about spice level at an American Indian restaurant. i'll be back for more whenever im at costco across the street. recommended! read more

My elderly retired parents paid over $50 for one Chicken Korma and one Coconut Lamb. When their order arrived, there was no meat - just sauce. They dug through thoroughly with their forks - no meat! I called the restaurant and politely inquired about the situation. The man I spoke to checked with the chef and then proceeded to tell me that he did not make a mistake. What? My parents are not dumb or liars - if they say there was no meat, there was no meat. Because it was through Doordash, they remade the dishes and my husband picked them up and delivered them to my parents a second time. This time, the meat was there. Mistakes happen and I'm understanding about that but I did not appreciate that they refused to take responsibility or apologize. Last couple of indian places I've gone to don't do this, so some folks couldn't eat what they ordered cuz it was too spicy for them. Got their creamy garlic curry w/ paneer and butter chicken that came with flavorful basmati rice (maybe coated with ghee?). Also tried the pualo rice and gobi manchurian. The pualo rice was interesting as it was savory yet sweet from the raisins in it, it was good The gobi manchurian was not as I hoped, it was a bit too heavy on the sauce so it was soggy. I liked that it wasn't crazy spicy like other places, but like the other places just misses the mark on staying crispy for what you hope for with fried cauliflower. One mishap where order didn't come with mango lassi, but the restaurant folk were quick to want to fix the situation when I called in about it. In any case, happy with the food, flavors, and fact its local. Definitely my new go-to place for indian curry now. read more
