    Momo

Himalayan Diner just opened their doors a few weeks ago, and I stopped by today to try their chicken momos -- and wow, they did not disappoint. From the foothills of Nepal to the plateaus of Tibet, momo is the equivalent of the hamburger, and this place delivers it in its most authentic form. The dumplings are perfectly tender and juicy, with the right balance of meat and vegetables. The cabbage and cilantro in the minced chicken add that signature crunch that takes each bite to another level. But the real magic? The sauce. It's vibrant, creamy, and rich with peppers, turmeric, and a hint of ginger -- the kind of sauce you'd be lucky to find even in Kathmandu. For a restaurant that's barely three weeks old, Himalayan Diner already feels like a hidden gem in Lynnwood. If you're anywhere nearby, go try the chicken momos -- and if they offer more than one sauce, get both. Trust me, it'll be the best decision you make all week.

Delicious food, reasonable prices and excellent service from a friendly staff. We had the dumplings, biryani and chicken karma.

I found Kathmandu Momocha as a pop-up at this year's Folklife Festival in Seattle Center. A quick…read moresearch revealed they have a physical location, too. Learned something new. We tried their chicken momocha, steamed dumplings, 6 pieces for $13. Unfortunately, they were only lukewarm. They had a long line; I suspect the dumplings are not getting reheated for long enough. I know they are all fully-cooked/steamed and brought here to be warmed and served, so I wasn't concerned about food poisoning. Each momo is well stuffed, densely packed and meaty (much better than the momo food truck in Tulalip) with a pleasantly thin skin. Overall quality of the momo is in fact very good. We are only disappointed that they are lukewarm. The medium sauce is excellent. The pop-up menu has less options compared to the physical restaurant and cost more. The same chicken momocha, steamed dumplings cost $14.95 for 10 pieces if the online menu is accurate. That is a much better price. I still want to try their pan-fried version. Those look good.

The owner even came up to us to ask for feedback which I thought was great, it's a great way to stay in touch with your customer base. Unfortunately the rice was all I had here so I cannot comment on the dumplings.

Well better late than never I guess as we finally made it here and simply loved the food! I got my favorite when it comes to Indian cuisine which was the Chicken Vindaloo. It was wonderful! Steve liked his dish as well (though I can't quite remember what it is)! We got some Garlic Naan to go along with our meal. It was huge! But we chowed it down and loved every moment of it! From the bar which I think is called the Yeti Bar we got some Saffron infused cocktails. The one I picked was the Madras. It wad very good and this type of vodka added a great, unique dimension to the cocktail. We loved it! We to finish off this great meal we got some dessert with some deep fried goodness along with some cream. Yes, we had a fantastic meal here and really went all out by trying everything. Steve and I can't wait to come back and doing it all over again.

There were a few other people at 11:30am We asked if they do lunch buffet as I didn't see any self serve food. The staff said they offered in the past but not today.. it might come back in 2 weeks? We ordered hummus, garlic naan, fish masala and special kebabs without lamb which was accommodated per our request. The food even the side veggies were really good, we all liked everything. I like this place for good quality fresh ingredients that I don't feel overstuffed. It's probably because the food is easy to digest? This doesn't happen with other Mediterranean and Indian food. I'd like to come back when they start lunch buffet again.
