Came for weekday lunch buffet. The man at the counter was helping someone check out but told me to just sit anywhere and I could start grabbing food. It wasn't too busy but I also came at 2pm, an hour before the buffet ended. I don't know if there's a time limit, there's nothing on the sign that says so. I was there for about 30 minutes before I got too full. The food was great I think the rice was cooked perfectly and the selection was enough to keep me happy. I had all their curries and I don't have a complaint about any of the food! I mixed their mango custard with the rice pudding and that was great. The mango custard by itself was also great. I only took off a star because it wasn't the cleanest place. There was a dirty table in front of me for probably 20 minutes. There were some flies inside which is interesting because they have two doors in the entrance like how did they get there. But I would come back because the food and the price were good. Why did it take me this long to learn about this spot? i've driven by countless times and only recently tried the tandoori chicken via cousin's tip. Thoroughly impressed with the Tandoori chicken and mint chutney; so far - my only intro to this newly discovered spot. I will definitely be back to try other dishes. next visit: I ordered an 8 oz mint chutney (different than than the chutney in small container) and have to say a little too spicy for me. Though the extreme spice level loving mom was rather attached to it. During the holiday break, I made a minor trek from Greenwood into the buffet setup; location is great since it's right off the freeway exit. Stepped inside to a colorful variety of options. Honed in on the chicken curry - I was surprised it wasn't heavy on salt & acidic tomatoes. Overall it's a perfect chicken curry - I've on the prowl for about 5 decades. The best curry ensemble i've encountered outside India. The gravy consistency is similar to homemade curry sauce...never too thick (smoothie style) Tandoori chicken showed up a little later in the buffet scene - though, the take out version is a little juicier. Raita is thoughtfully prepared with cucumbers and light spices. Surprised to see both naan and butura are included in the buffet. Butura bread goes well with the channa masala which has a nice subtle flavor. But, I feel it could showcase more interesting/pungent spices and garbanzo beans need to be cooked a little longer to make them softer/easier to digest. This could easily be our new go-to Indian spot, though there are fancier options around for nicer meals. In long We checked out a few different favorites for the sake of trying out a new spot. The pictures of the dining room look nice enough that this place would be worth checking out in person, but everything showed up in great shape and seemed like it was just as good as it would be fresh from the kitchen. Papdum These are usually very similar everywhere you go, and these were nothing if not comfortingly familiar. Crisp, solid flavor, combined with other stuff on the plate to make nice bites. Pickle I'm pretty sure I've found this exact pickle mix at the supermarket, but I can't remember the brand name. Super good, though. Huge flavors, really nice accent on the fork with other foods. Bhaingan Bharta Always a worthy way to calibrate what you think of a new-to-you Indian spot. This is a great basic interpretation, good fresh and good heated up the next day for lunch, too. Palak Paneer Nice flavor and texture, decent little cubes of cheese. Plenty of seasoning. Nice last night and also today. Garlic Basil Naan I thought for a second the basil might be too fusion-y for some people, no matter how much we liked it. We loved it, and it also seems like something anyone could enjoy even if they usually go for the simpler and more-traditional naans that other places offer. Super happy to have found this place. Everything I was looking for in a lunch buffet ever since I moved up here. They have great choices, and flavor is what I'm used to. The butter chicken is great. They have quite a few options of vegetarian as well. Few chicken options. Their tandoori chicken is so tender- usually I don't order this dish because it's dry and definitely wasn't expecting much from a buffet, but it was great here! The butter chicken was good and the chicken in it was as flavorful as the tandoori chicken. They had a version with paneer as well. I wished they had saag paneer but hopefully it's a rotating menu? They had naan which was great. Love that they had sauces as well. They have rice pudding which usually I'm not a fan of but seriously impressed with the flavors at this spot, especially for a buffet. Price of as reasonable. I also love that they had a buffet to go option to pay for a takeout box to get whatever you like. My husband often cannot join for lunch, and he would also like to try a bit of everything. Down to earth, local eatery. Since the pandemic, I have only ordered food from Cafe India through Uber Eats. Coming back to the restaurant in person after a few years was exciting. Unlike many other neighborhood Indian restaurants, Cafe India uses light interior colors which makes the space more airy. The big windows allow plenty of light in which is a plus. Otherwise, the decor is quite basic. Service was good - waitstaff was pleasant and attentive. Food was okay. The Chicken Pakoras was okay. Ras Missy Aloo was the best of all dishes we ordered. The Navrattan Korma and the Fish Curry were too salty but otherwise, acceptable. Chicken Tikka Masala was actually Butter Chicken. Garlic Naan was light and fluffy but I could not taste a hint of garlic. Mint Raita was a bit too watery. Could be the result of an occasional miss so I will definitely go there in person again in the near future and update this review accordingly. read more

Went in for dinner on Friday night, the place was completely empty and calm but that didn't stop us. People came in for pick up orders as we began our dinner. The server was super attentive (we were the only ones there) and the wait for our food was standard if not prompt. I have not had a lot of Indian food in my life but I always get similar dishes such as butter chicken and tikka masala, so I knew what to expect. That's exactly what we had this night: Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Bullet Naan, and Garlic Basil Naan. The main dishes were so delicious, the chicken was soft and everything was the right level of flavor. The server also suggested we try the Mango Lassi which was creamy and delicious. This is literally one of my favorite restaurants that I've ever been to. Ever. I don't even mean just Indian restaurants either, I mean it's one of my favorite restaurants in general. The quality and taste of the food is amazing and has never failed me. I'm so glad that I randomly came to eat here after moving to Lynnwood. If I were to ever move I'd be willing to drive hours for this place. If you come here you have to try their tandoori chicken with the mint chutney, their butter chicken is incredible and ALL of their naan is amazing. I plan on trying everything they have on the menu eventually but Ive just become a creature of habit with ordering the same things. One of my favorite Indian restaurants in the Lynnwood area! The restaurant itself looks a little dingy and old but don't let that deceive you. They offer a great selection of curries and other unique dishes that you don't find at all Indian restaurants, so it's a great place to venture out and try new dishes. The staff that work here are friendly and will give you recommendations if you ask. I enjoy all the curry dishes here and the mango or original rose lassi. The prices are reasonable and it feels good to support a local restaurant. They're opened back up for dine-in. One of my go to places for indian food in Lynnwood.I usually get the butter chicken or chicken tikka masala , aloo palak , chicken/lamb biryani ,garlic naan and gulab jamun for dessert. They have a big selection of food to pick from the menu and vegetarian options as well. Also the bathrooms are so clean every time I've went so that's a plus. The service is good. I came here with my extended family for Diwali, and they were able to accommodate us despite there being over 12 of us (I do recommend calling beforehand). Our server was relatively attentive and took our orders throughout the meal. He also brought out several jugs of water so that we wouldn't run out. I wouldn't be able to list every single thing we ordered, but there was quite a lot - from samosas to paneer tikka masala to garlic naan and tandoor chicken. Every single dish was extremely flavorful, and they were able to accommodate so that the dishes by the children were considerably milder. The chicken was slightly dry, however, so I recommend simply getting it as a curry. Towards the end, they even brought out some ice cream for the kids! Reading some of the reviews makes me wonder if people have tried authentic Indian food because this is honestly the place to go to! Their service is always amazing and quick.
