OK, so I got a deep tissue massage and feet. I called on the phone and she told me $50 for one hour when I get , It was $60; on my credit card receipt it was $62. It was a good massage and I like the hot coals, but she didn't apply a lot of pressure for it to be a deep tissue. anyway no complaints there at all so at the end I went to give her a tip and I gave her six dollars tip, I was thinking 10% and I had eight dollars cash on me. A friend came to visit her as I was paying. She her friend and fussing at me, She told me "no", she didn't speak English the entire time, when I asked her simple questions. But she said very clearLu as she dismissed my money on the counte; "no $10 minimum tip." I had eight dollars and I told her that's all I have, then she rolled her eyes at m. She lost me as a customer because if I had more cash, I would've gave her more. but the extra two dollars that she charged me the extra $10 she charged me and the eight dollars I gave her she was able to have more than her $10 minimum. Had a not so great first experience a few months back but decided to give it a second try. Please save your money and time and go somewhere else. At first we were greeted by a lady who tried to get us to get the most expensive massage. I was not interested in getting a deep tissue massage. I paid $50 for the head and foot massage and it was ok. My brother got a $70 massage. When it came time to leave, both my brother and i both tipped $20 each for each of our massages. The same lady who greeted us demanded more money from both of us! like excuse me, $20 is more than enough if you ask me. She was annoyed and mad that we didn't agree or give her more. Worst experience ever!!! If only I can give 0 star. The lady in the front desk had the nerve to ask for a tip after a rush massage. We ask for an hour massage but told us they can only do 30. We agreed even we are hesitant. Full body massage turn into a 20 mins back massage. They could've just said they can't do it because they have an appt but not to rush a massage and ask for a tip. Its a little sketchy too that she has to ask for my DL and write it on the receipt but wont give me a receipt. Had to take a picture of my receipt. They even had to make 2 transactions for a couple massage which it does not make sense if you can pay it once and each transactions has 2$ credit/debit card fee. read more

A more accurate business name might be 2-1/2 Star Body & Foot Massage - so that expectations can be met and exceeded. There is a sign on the street advertising massage for $15. In front of the door, the sign says $20. The difference between the two is $15 for 30-minute foot massage OR $20 for 60-minute foot massage combo - which seems like a better deal than their $35 for 60-minute combo foot massage. This is the only Asian foot massage place I have been where most of the foot massage was just scrubbing the feet and lower legs rather than massaging them. The massage of the head, neck, arms, and back (without any attention to thighs or chest or front of the body) was only worth getting because it was only $5 more than a "foot massage". read more

I paid $25 for an hour massage ( foot & body massage ) and I was amazed . It was exactly what I needed and walked out feeling brand new and relaxed . I'm really disappointed. I've gone there a Few times and was really impressed by the quality of the massage but of course the first time I bring my partner with me, they don't do well. One of the women left the room at least 6 times to deal with something in the front. I expected this to happen once or twice as they are small and are often not staffed enough but 6 times? Really? Then one of the other women on staff barged in 2/3 time to to talk to the other and it sounded like the we're arguing. Again, really? I really wasn't happy with my massage either but the woman seemed young and like she was learning. I need pressure than other people so it's hard to get it right with me, but the woman I usually get was working on my partner. I was at least hoping his massage was good. Nope. He asked for medium hard and all she did was rub him down. So disappointing. I was still going to tip though, sometimes places have off days and every other time has been fine. When we were leaving I said I would be right back, that I had to go to the ATM. (I do this every time I go) she asked that my partner wait while I went. I was confused and said we already paid in full and she said she knew and asked if I was going to leave a tip. She made him wait for me to go to a tip after a unsatisfactory massage and unprofessional conduct. Really?! The only reason it's getting two stars is because the young woman who was working with me maintained a professional demanor and gave my hips a nice stretch. No time was added for my partner to make up for her leaving the room either. I know how it is to get overwhelmed but we were treated like an annoyance rather than a customer. This was my second trip to 5 Star and I was quite disappointed. The first time (when they first opened earlier this year), I went there and had a great massage. I thought it was weird that they charged an extra $1 for using a credit card even though it wasn't written anywhere in the store. I paid after the massage, gave a great tip and then left. Today (10/29) was much different. I went in there for my 10 a.m. appt and the first thing I was told was that I needed to pay first. When I made my appt on Friday (10/27), I wasn't told that I needed to pay first. The lady at the desk called her manager who said that all customers have to pay first and when I balked, the manager, still on the phone said that she'd give me a $10 discount from the price, making my hour-long massage, $35. I refused and left. This "new policy" is not noted anywhere in the store and the lady at the desk wasn't able to show me where it was written. Maybe enough people complained and that led them to show the prices for cash and credit card. I've had a number of massages from various places, including using Groupons and have NEVER experienced any place that asked me to pay before getting the services. Especially when it's not posted anywhere. Sadly, I will not ever return to this business in the future and will not recommend them to anyone I know. read more

Stopped in last week. Parking isn't great. A busy little corner. Paid for an hour. I drew Wendy as the masseuse. Pretty, little bundle of energy. She took direction well dialing up the pressure when requested and easing off for soothing relaxation. Decent English speaker. Tried very hard to please. Great massage technique. I've had back surgery and a lot of massage over the years. I might rate her top 3. The spa isn't Taj Mahal but it's very clean. They're very serious about the virus there. Worst massage ever! I've been to a lot of massage places in San Diego and this has been my worst experience ever. I think the one who did my massage was the owner of the place, she is very inexperienced and lazy. Very poor service. The place is so filthy and smelly. I asked for a towel and gave me a dirty, ripped sheet. There were bugs running on the table and on the floor. One of the staff saw the bugs and he just laughed at me. I received the best massage I have ever had from Anny and she did a back salt scrub and hot rocks for free. Their linens are crisp and clean and the staff are very pleasant. I received a full body massage for 60 minutes for $45! Next I am going back for a 60 minute body and foot massage for $35. I highly recommend Anny. She does great deep tissue. read more
