Honestly, this was the worst massage ever. I called ahead for an appointment. It started late. Which i paid 50 for an hour. Which if I would have known I was going to get only 40 minutes of rubbing, I would have paid for the 30 minute massage. What a waste. My body wasn't even relaxed. I was absolutely surprised and impressed by Emily. This particular morning my back locked up. I couldn't move. I always go to Massage Envy but they where booked up for the next 3 days. I was very very nervous to go anywhere else as my Therapist at M.E knows my body so well. It was 9:00am and I needed help asap! So i was on my way to the mall to just get a chair massage when I happened to see this place as I sat in the passenger seat. Spa: I was very hesitant in opening the door. The decor could use some improvement but their customer service was great. Quiet place, only a few doors the rest are curtains. Customer Service & Service: I was greeted by Emily, very friendly, she seemed so happy to see me. I did the 15 min chair massage for $15. Wow wow wow did she do an amazing job! It was like she had been working on me for years. I felt a lot better after the 15 mins but she suggest i get an actual 30 min massage on the table. After receiving her pressure in the chair, I agreed. It was one of the best 30 mins massages I have ever received. She was so professional and caring. I come to Scarface Smoke Shop often. I came here cuzz I was recommend. Unfortunately the service was horrible. After the message she asked for a tip. I gave her $5z she tells me is the massage not good. Then I realized she wasn't happy but I though $5 was generous considering finances are tight plus I get massages once a week from my other massage place. The rudely rolled her eyes. Awaiting to meet up with an old acquaintance nearby and an hour to burn, led me off the beaten path to El Cajon i.e. Bostonia, CA. where I came upon a small strip mall. Interestingly enough, I came across this massage/reflexology store, F & H Massage (with no prior information to draw upon). I enter the establishment seeing if there were "mongers" waiting around or if this was a legitimate place to actually rest, recharge, and resume my travels? No mama-san, no mongers...no problem and no issues. I am promptly greeted by a female staff attendant who explained the types of massages offered, based minutes, and price points. I opted for the 60-minute full body massage. The environment: Rooms appeared freshly painted with a mixture of decorum (there's that Lucky Bamboo planter!) and soft window coverings. The usual soft music was quaint, but most importantly, the place was clean and tidy. I also opted for the individual room so I wouldn't blind anyone when my under tanned body didn't actually lighten up the room. I did see a room for you "couples" folks, too. The rub: Another female attendant politely knocked and entered the room and asked how strong? To the uninitiated, this means how hard/firm do you want your muscles to be kneaded by the persons hands. Mind you, there are some massage therapist hands so strong, I think they could punch a hole through a wooden plank with their index finger. So say "medium" and say lighter or harder to your bodies reaction. Remember, you're there to relax, no get bruised. Also, state ahead of time regarding how much oil/lotion to use on you, especially if you wear contacts or are the type to wear make-up. She understood this without any special translation. Also none of the nonchalant conversation between staff attendants were heard while being attended to. The message was very relaxing, I think I snored but a short second. My feet were rejuvenated which is alway important, gotta take care of your feet! My back and shoulders were restored with some flexibility too. Amenities: I hate feeling oily, so the excess was wiped off with warm, but damp towels to dry. However, I was offered to use their shower facility which was an added bonus I took advantage of. Was offered and accepted a refrigerated bottle of water, not the usual Dixie cup of water or scalding hot tea. Price point: Compared to other reflexology establishments, on par. Remind yourself these are reflexology places not the $$$+ spas where you lounge around sipping iced water with lemon slices in it. In summation, it should be 4-1/2 stars (I rounded up) since the place appears like they are just establishing their business. The staffs effort to make me feel welcomed to their store and being thanked for your business, reflected good customer service not often found at other places and this effort made up for me to round up. I drive four hours in traffic I found this place it looked nice. And it was clean outside the prices for a massage are on the Windows outside. Inside looked clean and relaxing as I walked to a private room I noticed how relaxed I felt this was before I got a massage. This is the best massage you can get I was so comfortable and relaxed . I found one of their fliers, on the ground, in a parking lot, about 5 miles away. After work, I read the reviews, twenty 5 star reviews and two 1 star reviews. So I decided to see for myself; and I'm glad that I did... The place is extremely clean with a pleasant fragrance and overall very comforting atmosphere.... I was greeted by a beautiful young lady, with a great personality- her name is Daisy (manager) she explained their various massage choices, styles and prices. I decided to try a 90 minute deep tissue-full body. The room was spotless, the music was relaxing and was being played throughout all of the rooms. The (deep tissue) massage was wonderful with some shiatsu, and hot stone treatment toward the end. I highly recommend this massage establishment, it's absolutely a hidden gem. Note: Tipping a massage therapist is not the same as tipping a wait person, massage therapy is 20 to 50x more difficult than bringing food and drinks to a table- so at these awesome, low massage therapy prices- we can afford to tip more generously. I was a little hesitant at first, I wasn't sure as to what to expect considering it is somewhat of a hole in the wall kind of place but, I'm so happy I came! I got a one hour full body massage, she massaged everything including my face and scalp which I loved. She seemed to customize it to what I needed based on how my body felt, she worked on knots that I honestly didn't even know was there. I also noticed that she payed extra attention to my left side, I slept wrong on my neck about a week ago and couldn't turn my head for a couple days and the pain seemed to source from my left side. I received a gift card from this place from my daughter last year!! I finally decided to go since my birthday is in 2 days! I called before hand just to let them know I've had this gift card almost a year. They didn't mind at all. When I got there, I was 30 minutes early, they took me in right away. I am very picky about massage parlors. I always assume the worst. This place was amazing! I walked in and was greeted by Emily. She was so nice and pleasant. I was seen immediately. The room was clean and quiet. The massage was superb. My favorite part about the place is how professional the environment was. All of the staff wore scrubs and were polite. They didn't try to force anything on me (like buy this $55 upgrade or for only $5 more we can do this is!). They respected my decision on what kind of a massage I wanted. When I came out the two ladies were sitting in the front room where my husband was waiting for me with our 7mo old. There was no wait and parking. I asked to use the discount I found on Yelp although they seemed hesitant they gave it to me anyway. ($4 off) They charge $1 to swipe. ** I was more in control of telling the lady to go softer or harder in some spots opposed to other places I've been. The massages here are so good! My bf and I decided on the full body massages (hot oil and stones included). Side note that the 25℅ check in discount does not work as they mentioned it was done by the previous owner or something like that. But they gave us the $35 for $40 deal (no need to purchase on yelp, just ask them in person). You pay upfront before your massages. The place was very clean and pleasant. Definitely not one of those elaborate spas but I personally think the decor is cute enough. The bf got YuYu (?) and I got Daisy (we were given the couple room). I asked for firm pressure and Daisy definitely delivered! I could literally hear all my stiff muscles cracking and unknotting under her skillful fingers. The used hot oil and damn was it good feeling warm oil drizzled down your back. There was also a short hot stone session which is heaven I swear. First they rub their hands on the stones to introduce you to the heat then they run the now warm stones down your back, legs, and feet. Glorious. It was a full hour massage too and not those 50 mins hands on and 10 mins consultation nonsense you typically get from those frou-frou spa places. If you want a thorough FULL body massage, you come here. My only downside was that Daisy seems to be the owner of the business so there were a 2 times where she had to take calls and suddenly had to attend to a customer outside who lost her sunglasses when Daisy was on her way to get the hot stones. But she was apologetic about it. I understand that this might be very disruptive to some so maybe there should be a system where there is a receptionist instead or anyone not currently giving a massage should handle incoming calls. Yuyu was there for the full hour for the bf though, lucky him. Overall, we both had a great relaxing time. The bf wished he could have just slept there lol. Will never go back or recommend this place again. They called me a liar by telling me that they had already given me my free punch card massage. It claims if you get 4 massages the 5th is 1/2 off, or 9 and 10th is free. She said " hey Lady" you already got your free massage. They basically didn't honor their own signatures on the card, I had 5 punches and and the 5th one was marked the same as all the others. I had 5 decent massages from here, and paid full price for all of them, but every time I would ask for the same massage therapist it was always the same story, they went back to china. Every single therapist??? Sounds fishy. They can take their punch card and shove it. I am now stressed out and my neck is tight, I am going back to the place across the street where I know I will get a great 90 min foot reflexology massage and will feel amazing when I'm done. I have had many massages. First of all, it was odd they had me pay and tip up front. They also commented the tip was not enough which I feel is not something to be determined until a service is completed. Had I waited there would have prob been half the tip, even tho I didn't feel they deserved a tip. I'm not quite sure they know what they're doing at all. Lady came into room and aggressively started squeezing my neck. I was uncovered naked and had to ask multiple times to be covered where they were not working bc it was freezing. She still left me uncovered bc she didn't speak English. The way her strokes and flow went was not a massage. It felt she was not trained. She was literally just taking her palms and pressing down. On top of it, later that night, severe pain occurred in my right neck, throat, lymph node area. I'm not sick. I'm a nurse and asked fellow colleagues /doctors. They said I had injured a muscle in my neck and recommended I never go there again. So basically, I paid more than I should to get hurt and leave worse than how I came in. Don't go here. I'm considering reporting them bc it wasn't just a bad massage, I have a neck injury now. Today my husband and I went in for a massage. His experience was different than mine. The lady that massage me, she kept talking to the other lady whom was massaging my husband. At some point I knew she was talking about me cuz I had my chemo hat on and she kept touching underneath the cap or move the cap. I was being nice and not say anything. then she sat on my lower back and barely massage my back but she kept going to my legs "massage" there. At the end, I decided to give her $5 tip even tho she doesn't deserve it. Her coworker and herself demanded me to give her at least $10 or more tip for a massage that was barely giving. I've never wanted a massage to end so bad as today :( let me preface this by saying I have been here a couple times before and have gotten decent massages in the past. Although this place isn't as big or clean as some others, (ahem happy massage across the street) they have good value prices and include hot stones in their massage for no extra charge. I called before going in and was told they could take me right away. I go in and pay, then the front desk lady takes me to a room. On the bed there is a blanket and pillow like someone was napping in there (first clue I should have gotten out). The front desk lady takes those away and leaves. 3 minutes later she comes back and asks if I'm ready (apparently she is also my masseuse). Mind you, she didn't knock, she came right in getting a full frontal since I hadn't even had time to get the sheet over me on the bed yet. I say yes and cover myself. She aggressively rips the sheet off my naked booty to my ankles and starts massaging with the door OPEN. I ask if she is going to close the door and she does but leaves it cracked...ummm. Then she proceeds to aggressively do the same 3 motions on my back and butt for 30 minutes. No joke, front desk lady had 3 tricks up her sleeve that she did over and over. One of them being the karate chop which she did for several minutes straight until I asked her to stop. I wanted to leave a few minutes in, but knew they would prob not give me a refund so I stayed and decided to get my "money's worth". She was very aggressive the entire time, even though I asked for medium pressure, it's like she was angry and trying to squeeze the crap out of my neck. The massage was anything but relaxing, and I could tell she had no skill or training in massage. If I had to guess they probably didn't have anyone available when I came in and instead of losing business decided to have random front desk lady "massage" me. Disappointing and unprofessional.
