Worst experience getting my nails done ever. I went in with decent hope as I asked for coffin with a french tip. The dip is so bumpy and the shape is completely uneven and you can see in the pictures. My biggest concern was the obvious uneven french of my pointer fingers. I went up to the counter to pay after sitting 2 hours, which is much longer than it should have taken, and was now on a time crunch to get to work. As I was talking to the receptionist upfront about my dissatisfaction with paying full price for my nails, the lady who was doing my nails came up to me yelling and starting to grab on me and my hands. She persisted to do this even after I encouraged her to stop multiple times. She insisted my nails shown in the pictures were fine and made me out to be irrational. Please keep in mind I was not talking to her when this happened. I had to asked her to "please get away from me" before she decided to step away from me. But this was after her colleagues encouraged her to do so, not when I asked repeatedly. Now, uncomfortable, I just wanted my money back. They refused per "company policy" and offered to fix it but the same woman, who was just grabbing me and pulling me after I asked her stop and yelling at me, HAS to be the one to fix them. I asked for someone else and they refused. I asked to get them redone and they told me the same thing. I'm sure they may say that I was being unreasonable but I was not. I was perfectly calm and collected. The people in that salon are poor at their work as they explained the woman who did my nails was "the best". So, unless you're willing to critique every small error in your nails every step of the way to have your nails be DECENT. I suggest you keep your money and take your business elsewhere. Relax Nails on guadalupe is less than a mile away and so much more professional. How disappointing and embarrassing for a business.

Worst. Nail experience Ever. I asked for thin dip and I got the thickest, most uneven nails. And the color is cloudy and horrible looking. And when I told them I wasn't happy the proceeded to tell me it's the color and they would add another color on top as if adding more dip would be a good idea. I didn't feel it was fair to pay 55 for the service and the owner told me if I didn't pay she would cut them off and basically chased me out with huge toenail clippers!! I'm appalled that they run a business in this manor and treat customers this way!!! Now I have to pay another 50 bucks to have them taken off and redone

I genuinely had the most disappointing experience at a nail salon. I used to go here relatively often because of its convenience and they did a standard job but I will not be coming back here anytime soon. Unless you want a basic manicure or pedicure with regular polish, I do not recommend this place. Today I went in for a gel manicure on my real nails with a french tip and a gelx nail removal. I was initially quoted $10 for the removal and $40 for the gel manicure part. I left the salon with uneven ridged nail beds, flaired up tips, and uneven nail shaping, and my nails hurt to touch. Anecdote: During the initial nail removal process, the tech followed simple procedure and was friendly. Asked me about my race, offered me water, and my gelx nails were soaking in acetone for easy removal. The shaving tool was used three times total. - The first time was before the acetone was applied for easy removal which went fine - The second time was after the acetone was removed. During the second time, she switched the tip of the tool a few times to up the intensity but applied the tool unevenly on my nail at certain points and it got to a point where I vocally had to express my pain because I could feel it going deeper into my nail bed. - The third time, I had requested her to remove the tips of the remaining gelx. I had looked at my nails and noticed that the gelx was removed from the base but not from the tip which created a noticeable flair in my nail. When I showed her where it was, she had seemed really frustrated but did realize that it was unevenly done. As she was doing it, she focused the tip of the tool on my real nail bed instead of the tip with the actual gelx. When I vocalized it, she expressed frustration and in fear of becoming a difficult customer, I had apologized and just moved on. *At this point in time, I was already mentally considering just doing as simple manicure and having all my nails cut short to my fingers because I could not anticipate the rest of the session going well. As we were moving onto the next hand, she had asked if I was happy with my left hand and I did not know what to say because the honest answer was no. So when I had said, it is still uneven but it is okay, she just stopped her service and started to speak to the rest of the nail tech in Vietnamese. After a few minutes of this awkward frustration between both of us, I just suggested that I will just get the removal if that would be easier. From there, she just half haphazardly shaved and shaped my right hand in around a 1 minute and ringed me up. By the time she rung me up, the price for the removal went up to $15, which was a $5 increase from her initial quote. But I just wanted to get out of that place so I just sucked it up and paid. I apologized and said thank you for what she had done despite my dissatisfaction but I was countered with a passive aggression. I hate having to write this review because I have had some positive experiences and she seemed nice as a person. But I was genuinely just so disappointed in the service today. In the situation where she was unable to take it off or if she was unfamiliar with taking off gelx nails, I would've been easily as satisfied to be passed off to another nail tech. Instead, I had to leave with my nails in conditions worst than the way they came in with unnecessary and very avoidable damages. TLDR: Shaping: 1/5 - uneven shaping across fingers, flaired up tips, shaved nail bed down to raw, different indention points on nail beds, and clear damages Nail Removal: 1/5 - the job was done as the fake nail was off, except for the tip Service: 1/5 - poor communication, friendly at the beginning, asked for your opinions but it doesn't seem valued, passive aggressive, price upcharge despite the upfront quote (not communicated), half assed the service towards the end, didn't ask for length before cutting Cleanliness: 1/5 - poor ventilation throughout the salon

I came in for an dip manicure ($45). The nail tech was really aggressive--she peeled off my old polish instead of soaking it & used a really strong grit on my tips and cuticles, which drew blood and still stings the next day. The final product is fine at best; the polish is a bit lumpy if you look close. I wouldn't recommend or go back.

DO NOT GO HERE. They literally don't even do your nails. The place isn't clean at all and they do not speak English. Look at my nails. So bad.

Missed the first 2 calls from them and then called back because I didn't know who it was.

1. Never agreed I was satisfied on the call or in person. 2. My review very accurately reflected my experience. I have no purpose in lying and the fact that you (Daniel) continue to try and discredit me if anything proves that truthfully you just don't want anything negative said. I didn't need clarification and when I was called if you wanted to 'clarify' that was all that needed to happen. If you want to 'ensure' a better experience, stop commenting and trying to disprove something I lived and focus on how you can prevent poor experiences for your future customers. As I said before I will give you the benefit of the doubt and HOPE there is miscommunication within your company. 3. Before you waste anymore of your time or my time, go back and read where I said to stop trying to comment and discredit me. If your goal is to get me to change my review, it is not going to happen. I have never had a salon experience so bad that I have written a review and seeing how my situation is being handled I am pretty happy I have shared my experience. And for every new attempt you make at trying to discredit me, I will add to my list. Attempt 1: September 17, 2023; Claims I "never visited" Attempt 2 : September 23, 2023; Claims my experience wasn't "accurate" and then tries to explain to me how MY experience went. I see it is a pattern that you (Daniel) try to tell off customers who speak out about their bad experiences, and while some might be valid for you to respond to mine is not one. You were on the other side of the shop doing someone else's nails at the same time I was getting mine done. So unless you have immaculate vision and hearing AND I have amnesia, it's wild that you think you can tell me what did and didn't happen. Though if you would like to continue to go back and forth then be my guest.

Really enjoy coming here! Convenient and relaxing. Nail techs have always been welcoming and kind towards me. They have a wide range of colors, designs, and styles. I have gotten dip powder here, and I loved it! Great nail salon especially location wise for UT students. Definitely recommended!

I'm a senior at UT graduating this Spring! I've been coming to 5 Star for 3 years off and on. I have to say they are a pretty good spot to get a good simple set of nails and a mean pedicure! Especially, it being walking distance in West Campus. Is it the cutest place to get your nails done? No. But, the service is good, the staff is polite, and I'm happy with my nails when I walk out the salon! And, I am pretty particular with my nails and they always do a good job! I wouldn't come here if you are looking for nail art/ designs. But it you usually get a simple one color this is the spot!

I have always passed by this nail salon since it is in the heart of west campus, and I decided to stop by today. Immediately as I walked in, I was greeted with a bunch of smiles and offered a complimentary drink. Everyone was a joy to talk to and it made my experience really enjoyable. I'm usually very indecisive about what color I want to use, but the workers were very helpful with assisting me. I was very pleasantly surprised since a great nail salon was so close to campus. I overall had such a wonderful experience, plus workers are so friendly and I left more than satisfied. I had the pleasure to have Tammy as my nail technician and I can't wait to come back to see her and everyone else next time.

Loved! Vivi helped me pick a color- honestly terrible at picking best colors! She chose such a pretty color. I did a normal manicure. She put down a base coats, two coats of paint and top coats!! She was meticulous with the edges and I'm so happy with them. Will definitely be coming back!!!

We came in 1 hour before closing, the lady looked at us and said sorry we can not help you can you come back tomorrow. We told her we were visiting from out of town and would be not able to. She then nonchalantly said " so sorry" She asked if we drove here we told we took an Uber she said ok The workers seem to take pleasure in not helping us I can't comment on the quality of the service because they seemed happy to deny us. read more

I came in for a pedicure and gel manicure. The people were super nice, and I really enjoyed the experience there. BUT the gel didn't last at all. I had my first chip on a nail within a day, and within a week the polish on all the nails was lifting and chipping, it looked terrible. I've never had a gel manicure last such a short amount of time. Would recommend for the pedicure, but skip the gel mani - not worth your money. read more

I came to get an acrylic removal and the nail tech was extremely rushed and rough with my nails. She nicked me almost every other finger with the drill which made the experience stressful and painful. She also kept complaining to me how difficult it was to remove acrylics and told me not to get them next time. She also filed my nails so extremely thin my nails are now breaking and bleeding. As you can see in the pictures my nails are now really sensitive and chipped on the edges. I only came here because it was close to campus and i needed the nails off quickly but i would definitely not recommend coming here if you can help it. read more

I'll start off with the good things: 1. They accept walk ins. 2. My nails that I got done are still intact and look in average condition. 3. They offer a small selection of beverages while you get your nails done. 4. If you are a student you can receive a discount. However, my positive experience ended there. I paid $45 to be manhandled by my nail tech who would get frustrated easily. She was frustrated because she didn't know how to put on the powder on my nails properly, and another nail tech beside her had to show her the technique, & her anger of her inexperience was taken out on me. She would constantly hit my hands to tell me to relax and it was a very rude gesture and I had to apologize to her every time she would hit me...?! She was very unfriendly and it was very uncomfortable to try and speak to her so that I could improve my experience with her. She was inconsistent and would lose track of which hand needed to dry and which hand didn't. She was inconsistent on the amount of coats she would put on my nails and would get angry with me when I would try to correct her. OVERALL: I am not coming back to this establishment and I do not recommend it for anyone who wants a good experience getting their nails done. read more

Stopped by because I needed a quick pedicure. It was a slow day for the shop, so I was seated immediately. After being seated, I was offered a drink. The technicians were really nice and did a great job. Kim, did my pedicure and it turned out great. As I was waiting for my toes to dry under the light, a different technician came and chatted with me. All of the staff was extremely friendly. Overall, the prices are OK. I can definitely get something cheaper in Houston, but it's Houston. I opted for a basic pedicure which was $26 and added parafilm wax which was $8. I would say if you need something convenient it is worth stopping by! read more

Started coming here for the convenience but turned out to be better than I expected. I usually get gel or dip powder and have had pretty good experiences here with the timeliness, nice staff and the outcome of my nails. Went in for a gel manicure but switched to a regular manicure after realizing how bad this place was. The nail technician I got must have been new, and although he was nice and pleasant he was really bad and took over an hour to file and paint. Definitely not worth the money and I was extremely disappointed. Hopefully some of the more skilled/experienced technicians are better! read more

if I could give zero stars I definitely would. I came in needing to remove and redo a full set. I thought it was great it was walking distance from my apartment and decided to give it a shot. Worst choice of my life. removal was fine, but then when the nail tech began the new set, she clearly did not know how to do nails. first, she was attempting to make a "coffin shape" by cutting the sides of the nails instead of filing them, so she almost cut me 5 times. Then, she only used like 2 layers of dip powder, which for a light color is not enough. I asked her if she was finished and she said yes, while my nails were obviously see through and extremely uneven. She offered to go over the pale color with another, darker color, but even so, she put 1 layer and asked (with a lot of attitude) if I liked it now. I said that it didn't properly cover the previous color, and she got mad and said it was my fault... so I said I was done and was going somewhere else. She followed me to the desk and proceeded to yell (obviously about me) to the cashier. I told him I did not feel like my nails were finished, and he agreed to only charge me for the original nail removal, which i only agreed to because I wanted to leave. This wasted an hour and a half of my time, and it was so obscenely bad, I had to spend more time getting them fixed the same day. Go to enjoy on Guadalupe instead. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I went in to get my dipping powder removed and then asked for a basic manicure. The lady who took care of me, Mary, was extremely rough with my nails and repeatedly burnt my nails with the drill she used to remove the dipping powder. When applying the regular polish to my nails, it was pretty evident that she was in a hurry to finish and now having left the salon, my nails are filled with air bubbles, there are bumps on all but one nail, and the polish is not at all evenly layered. I wish I could rate this place better because the ladies were really nice, but my nails do not look professionally done at all. Sadly, for $25 I could've given myself a better manicure. read more

for the first few times i came here, i would've given them 4 or 5 stars, but after my latest experience i can't bring myself to go there anymore. my last set i got from them completely ruined my nails to the point where two nails split in half and my nails became really weak. the nail tech that did my nails also nicked me on almost all my fingers and was super rough. i just got my natural nails fixed at another salon and the nail tech told me she could tell the technique was not good and the materials are not of good quality. i'm not giving 1 star because the staff is actually super nice and i know they're only doing their job, but if you want really high quality nails and not risk getting your nails damaged i would suggest looking elsewhere read more

I spent 3 hours in here for dip nails. No crazy shape, no design. One color and square shape. I wanted to trust the process the whole time but as someone who gets their nails done often, I'm familiar with the process. A lot of things were done absolutely wrong. At one point I had to tell her I had places to be and that's when she finally started to rush. I wish I was kidding. She started on my nails at 3:30 and I did not leave til 6:20. If I did not ask her to hurry I would have been there longer. At this point I was just worried about getting out of there and not how my nails look. They are HORRIBLE. And I asked for something so simple. The pictures don't show the bumpiness, thickness, etc. This place is okay for a quick pedicure but do not go for nails. They look like giant bricks. Not even straight and the sides are not even smooth. I would give it 1 star because of the work but I gave 2 because the lady who did my nails was super nice. But this should absolutely not cost me $60. Now I'm going elsewhere to have them fixed read more

They were nice and the color was pretty but i was left very unsatisfied with my sns dip nails. She didn't prime my nails or push back my cuticles. Also she over filed my nails and they were bubble shaped and too round and bumpy. I tried to explain to them to file it down but the message want received. Usually a 20 min wait if you don't make an appointment. Prices are a little higher than I would expect- $50 for dip, $26 pedicure. Wanted to do a pedicure and dip at same time but had to do separately, so I was there for two hours. They don't have many Nexgen colors. The SNS colors do not really look exactly like the swatches, just a heads up. Color is different and it may be slightly transparent on tips. I had my nails done by Mary, she said she is new. She was very sweet and did well but my nails are slightly longer than I would have liked. I was very happy with her shaping of my tips though. Overall happy with my experience. I will go back because it's a convenient location and there aren't many salons around here. read more

They ruined my nails. I just asked for them to take off my dip nails and they filed my nail down to the last layer. It actually hurt while they did it. My nails are still recovering. Came here to get a manicure and showed the woman a photo. I asked her if she could do it and she told me yes. She lied. She did not do what I asked and then tried to gaslight me and say that I wasn't clear even though I showed her a photo. I politely tried to explain what was wrong and she was very rude and yelled in my face. I have been to this salon many times and never not paid or not tipped properly, yet when I got up she yelled in my face saying "YOU WILL PAY". I never indicated I had no intention of paying. I have been twice, on Sundays, and when I call they said I can come in "now" (I do live fairly close). I just need a good pedi, and they deliver. I upgraded to the delux and it's still very affordable. Very clean and sanitary practices, very friendly, and solid, straightforward pedicure. If you have fake nails DO NOT GET THEM REMOVED HERE. The lady didn't soak my nails, she just cut the tip, sanded them down a little and starting ripping them off with her fingers, taking most of the top layer off with them. It hurt really bad and my nails are so brittle now. I've seen people get there's removed before so I know this is not the correct way to remove them in order maintain healthy nails. I'm very disappointed. If I wanted my nails destroyed I could've ripped them off myself. read more

I have been getting dip nonstop for 2 years so I know what to expect with my nails. The set I got was NOT AT ALL good!! The lady was super sweet but you could tell she did not know how to do dip on natural nails. She broke part of my nail which I have been growing out, she left part of my old set still there (so you can see glittery green under light pink), the shape was still not what I wanted after I had repeatedly mentioned and asked for her to fix it, they are overly thick and not evenly coated (making the color uneven), and probably one of the worst sets I've ever received. On top of it all I had to pay $50 and the only reason I did was because I value people's time and I was raised to respect that but the work done was not $50 quality. If I could give 0 stars I would because they clearly do not know how to do nails. I am not bitter just really disappointed that they are running a salon and can't do a simple set properly. went here with my girlfriend, and two of her fingers literally started bleeding. not only that, the rude woman (mary) who scratched her fingers did not apologize at all, rather she started muttering in angry vietnamese to the other employees. i had to forcefully stop her from hurting my girl. we changed manicurists and the second girl (vivi) did a pretty good job not hurting her and actually did a decent job with the nails, but i would still not recommend this place because they are not careful about not hurting you and have zero manners. do not come here. read more

Katie was understanding of what I wanted and also receptive to how tense some of my muscles were and adjusted as the massage proceeded. I appreciated how she answered any questions I had during the massage and checked on me periodically to make sure everything was to my liking. The massage was fabulous. Unfortunately, the experience with Milk + Honey was incredibly disappointing from the start. The booking service that coordinated our appointments made an error with our timing. By the time we arrived, the Milk + Honey staff said they couldn't accommodate us. While I understand scheduling constraints, what was frustrating was the complete lack of effort to help. There were no alternative solutions offered, no attempt to adjust services, and the response we received felt dismissive, essentially "well, you didn't make it on time," despite the situation being out of our control. As a result, 2 out of our group of 6 had to leave without services, and we were still charged a no-show fee, which is 50% of the service cost. To their credit, the booking company acknowledged their mistake and worked to make it right. They helped us rebook at 50% off and added complimentary services, which we appreciated. However, because of the no-show fee, we essentially still ended up paying full price overall. The issues didn't stop there. At checkout, we added a 20% gratuity, but it was calculated on the full service price plus the added treatments, not the discounted rate we were actually paying. This resulted in what effectively felt like closer to a 50% gratuity. Again, this is less about tipping itself and more about transparency and principle. To make matters worse, we were not given a receipt at checkout and had to call afterward to request an itemized breakdown just to understand what we were charged. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and, more importantly, like our best interests were not a priority at any point. For a place that positions itself as a luxury, customer-focused experience, this fell far short.

This place first did not get all the cuticle off my nail plate. Then cut my eponychium (skin around the edge of my nails) which made me start bleeding on multiple fingers. Then the gel polish popped off 3 days in (Most likely because they didn't get the cuticles off the nail). Not to mention they did not have a clean application and got the gel polish all over my skin and flooded my cuticles and just cured it on the skin and my open wounds that they caused. This is a problem because not only is it unprofessional it can cause contact dermatitis. The vibe was okay, very empty but honestly not worth the 35 dollars excluding tip.
