Today, I was very disappointed of the quality of the meat. It was very salty. I later heard the waitress warn the woman next to me not to order (something said quietly) because it's salty (that woman had asked what she recommended). My experience here was okay. I always hear positive things about 5 tacos, but I never tried. I came in for happy hour and had a couple of drinks, the ceviche and fish tacos. The drinks were good, came out fairly quick. The food took a little longer, but still within a decent time range. They were a little bit busy when I ordered too. The service was okay; I felt that either the staff was having a bad day or they didn't want to work. I felt rushed by the staff and I felt that there was some annoyance lingering. I tried to not let it ruin my experience though. The ceviche was good. Had many flavors and there was a lot of it, but they only gave 3 large chips to eat with it, so I requested more. It was also spicier than expected, so if you can't handle spicy, let them know before ordering. It was perfect for me though. The tacos were good. The fish was thoroughly cooked and melted in your mouth, and it wasn't overpowering with any of the flavors and the toppings were great as well. I had an okay experience here because of the vibes I felt from the staff. The restaurant is also on the pricier side, so keep that in mind too if you plan to try more entrees! read more

Unfortunately, a dear friend and I decided to dine at 5 Tacos and Beers for late lunch. My friend brought along her dog, as their outdoor patio is advertised as 'pet -friendly.' We arrived about mid-afternoon barely a customer visible, yet it took well over ten minutes for the waitress to come over for our order. The way she was dressed made it difficult to tell if she worked there or if she was an unhoused person. My friend recognized her. She wasn't pleasant or welcoming. After placing our order, we waited another ten minutes for the staff to bring out my friend order. It took another thirty minutes or more for my order to be served. It was cold. Unsavory. I wouldn't eat it. However my friend dog was eager to chow through whatever it was. The service was so wretched I could not in good conscience drop a tip on the tab. When I asked for the bill, I signed the receipt with the intent of not adding tip for service. The waitress gave me an evil eye, even though an additional $9.60 tip was included in our bill. My friend ordered Guacamole. When the staff brought out the bowl of Guaca... it came only with salsa, NO CHIPS. My companion asked for chips, we thought they were included with the order. So I was shocked to see a $12.00 charge for a tiny tray of stale chips. To close, I don't recommend this business. The service and food I can honestly say was horrific. Been to this place before with friends. Can be busy at times up to a 20-30 mins wait to get a table, indoor and outdoor seating, street parking as well. Food is pretty decent. I can personally say it's a hit or miss. I've gone before where it's a 10/10 knocked out of the ballpark and then others when it's a 6/10 where the meat is overcooked and I'm still chewing on my steak for 5 mins. I witnessed a disturbing incident that left me quite concerned. While I am not typically a germaphobe, this experience was too intense to observe in real time. The waitress picked up the blood oranges off the bar table that some one was drinking at before and then proceeded to place them in jars and others drinks without any apparent concern for hygiene. There are people who believe that dirt does not harm, but it has been scientifically proven that fruits like limes, lemons, and oranges can harbor significant bacteria. I don't think I could return to that place, as the situation was quite off-putting. I understand that maintaining perfect cleanliness all the time is difficult, but this was a wide-open environment where anyone could clearly see the lack of proper hygiene practices. read more

The outdoor patio is great--dog-friendly, spacious, and equipped with heaters, which made it super comfortable even as the evening cooled down. The service was fantastic: friendly, attentive, and quick without feeling rushed. Now... the beer selection. WOW. I couldn't believe how many taps they had! I was honestly overwhelmed by the options (in the best way), so I went with the choose-your-own beer flight and tried five different brews. Highly recommend if you're indecisive like me or just want to explore. Food-wise, they've got plenty of vegetarian and meat options, which makes it easy for anyone to find something they'll love. I had a quesabirria and a carne asada taco, and both were absolutely delicious. We also split the fresh guacamole and chips, which tasted super fresh. My wife had an empanada and a taco, and she loved hers as well. Overall, it was a great dinner--laid-back vibe, awesome food, amazing beer, and great service. Great ambiance, decent food, friendly & knowledgeable server but poor service. When we were seated, we were a party of 5 (with 2 kids) and there were only 4 table settings. After we received our appetizer, we had to ask for a fifth setting twice. After our appetizer was long gone, the two vegan plates came out. The big taco order came out 15 minutes later. The kids were getting restless. At this point, we had just two drinks and were hoping the server would come by so we could ask for water. We ended up asking for water 3 times (like we didn't even start with water!). We eventually got water at the end of our meal. I do appreciate that there was an entire vegan/vegetarian section on the menu and those tacos were quite good. Not my top pick for tacos but it was decent. read more

We still come by here for the food. They have good solid tacos, good guac and housemade chips, and the drinks are fine. For a while, we were coming once per week. Now, the people are super nice when we come in. We are greeted and are taken to a table or are allowed to get our own. When they have a musical guest, it can be hard to hear my husband across from me, so I tend not to go on those nights. Usually a Friday night. The guests are fine and I come from a musical family, but to eat in silence because your words are soaked up by the music isn't fun. Also, I like to have a conversation while eating. But it's fine and we find ourselves coming for an afternoon choice of tacos. They have changed from having a different set of tacos each week to having a set menu. Another change is that they are offering more than tacos, which is fine. I've had the potato taquitos and I think my husband had the cerviche which was also good. We hosted a work event at the Albany location on May 20, 2026 and the experience fell well below acceptable service standards for a reserved group booking. From the beginning, service was noticeably inattentive. Our group repeatedly had to seek out staff for basic needs such as drink refills, additional items, and table maintenance. For a hosted event, this level of disengagement was unacceptable and made it difficult to properly manage or enjoy the gathering. As the evening progressed, service quality did not improve and, in some cases, worsened. Requests were frequently delayed or ignored altogether, and staff attentiveness toward a large professional group was inconsistent and at times dismissive. In addition, our reserved space was not properly maintained toward the end of our booking, and additional patrons were allowed into the designated area, disrupting the event we had planned and paid for. Prior to the event, communication was also inconsistent, with delays and limited responsiveness, which in hindsight should have been an early indicator of how the experience would unfold but given our previous positive experiences at this location, this visit was particularly disappointing. Overall, the execution of service, communication, and reservation management did not reflect the standard we would expect for future events. We also requested management attention regarding these issues and hope for a timely response and resolution. read more

Had a dinner meeting with a colleague here on a Thursday. Getting a seat was easy and we had good choices. The server was very responsive and helpful. I like that the tacos are ala carte. I had the fish and and a carnitas. The carnitas was delicious. The fish was well cooked but I didn't care for it being one big rectangle. The chips were perfect and the salsa good. A tip: order chips and guac and you can get a free refill on chips The beer selection is big and the prices reasonable for microbrews and the area. Our server let me have a few tastes so I could see if some of the more exotic brews were worth a pint. My only complaint is the chairs - the seats are hard and uncomfortable. read more

A very nice place to have lunch outside on a warm fall day. I had the crispy tacos and my friend had the fresh salad. Disappointed that their non-alcoholic beverage list was on the skimpy side -- no ginger beer or ginger ale. My tacos were delicious although many might consider them appetizer size. I came for lunch with my friend today. We got here around 2:50 They offer happy hour drinks starting at 3. We asked our server if we can have it, she replied no with an attitude! We will wait until 3 we responded. I'm not going to go back & forth to your table! That was her response!!!! We just ordered the drinks from the menu. I placed my lunch order & got on taco & one quesadilla. I got 2 tacos. I told her I ordered a quesadilla, she started arguing with me instead of saying sorry. She is the rudest server I've encountered. She even told me we don't have quesadilla on the menu. I asked her to bring the menu & pointed it out to her. She took my order back & brought the correct one. I ordered the brisket taco, I took the first bite & there was a big piece of skin in my mouth that I couldn't chew nor swallow. I stopped eating & called my server to show the big piece of fatty skin, she said, that's part of the brisket. I asked her if she could eat it& she kept arguing with me. Came Cinco de Mayo. Had a live band playing and super packed but we got seated right away. The kitchen was pretty busy but we got our food pretty quick considering how much we ordered. Got the large Michelida drink (didn't take a photo) but it was probably 3 beers. The Clamato was light and the chamoy on the rim was sweet, the Tajín was a little salty to my liking. Would also prefer the drink to be a little spicer but wanted to save the spice for the tacos first. Churros and vanilla ice cream came out 2nd, out of order to have desert first but I didn't mind it. Churros were crunchy and crispy outside and soft on inside. Came with a strawberry and that helped up the flavor and a hot and breezy day. Sugar and cinnamon was not overly coated. Went well with the plain Jane vanilla coldness. Ate it pretty fast cause it started melting almost right away. The birria and consomé came 3rd and the home made tortillas hit the spot. Don't need to double the tortillas at all, enough strength to not crack the taco. The pulled pork birria taco needed slightly more seasoning/salt. I enjoyed the asada birria taco, seasoning was better and tastier. The consomé was very clean, hardly any fat/oil, not very thick if you like thick consomé. I wish gave more consomé though, I drink that on the side as well as dipping the tacos each bite haha. Last is the line of one of each tacos. These tacos were much smaller than the birria tacos (2 biters) and handmade tortilla as well. The most interesting was octopus, cooked tender and first time having octopus taco. The fish tacos was my least favorite, it was very plain for me. Overall, the best was the asada and chicken had a grilled green onion and I love green onions, esp grilled. The deep fried fish taco was too greasy and all of the tacos were pretty dry. I recommend asking for salsa on the side, the lemon and sauce already in the taco was not enough. I enjoyed the vibrant pink radish (not spicy) and the pickled onions paired well with the tacos. Spent about $100 with tip. I'd come back but this time ask for extra salsa. The servers were very attentive and refilled our water when low. We didn't have to ask for water refills and we were surprisingly the 3rd couple to get seated and the first one to leave. Abysmal service. Gave them the benefit of the doubt even though I saw some bad service reviews on Yelp. I guess they don't care because the business is booming on a Friday night. We were sat down without menus or the table cleaned for so long we almost got up and left. A couple near us actually did get up and leave. Oh, and did I mention we moved a chair ourselves after the hostess just dismissed us. We watched the server/hostess serve the tables that came after us with menus and waters as if we weren't there. When we were finally acknowledged, we had to ask for our table to be cleaned even though there were food scraps and water all over the table. We honestly should've gotten up and left but we already wasted so much time there so... Anyways, we got the taco plate of 5: you can only pick each flavor once: short rib, fish, pork belly, pollo mole, and rib eye. Pollo mole and Fish was probably the best. The chicken was flavorful, with rice and pickled onions, giving it a nice tang. Fish was also decently flavored. Short rib was also decent, albeit cold. Now the negatives: pork belly was unseasoned and tasted really meaty, and not in a good way. Rib eye came completely cold, so it was hard to chew through. The tacos are on a single corn tortilla, not double layered like taco trucks normally are, so it got soggy really quickly. $29 Chips and guac and salsa was decent. Chips could've been salted more, guac could've been a bit chunkier, with more onions/cilantro. Chips were not refilled automatically, we had to ask someone who wasn't our server. Our server never came back around to fill our waters or check in on us until he wanted us to pay and get out. $12 Sangria was the only good item to be honest. If you're coming for just alcohol, then their drinks are decent. $12 Mangonada was decently strong, but they could've given me a thicker chamoy rim, it was quite watery. Mango flavor wasn't prominent either. $15 Overall, I would not be back and I can't recommend it for the terrible service either. Food is not nearly good enough to make up for it. read more

Overall, the staff seemed quite disconnected and they're constantly on their phones instead of being attentive, looking at the customers, listening carefully and taking the right order. As for the food, it took a long time to arrive. The carne taco was mostly fat, and the meat had no seasoning. The cod was better. After the food, but both my husband and I had indigestion afterward. Even the next day, I still don't feel well, though I can't say for sure which item caused it. We also had the guacamole and chips, which we liked, but the salsa tasted a bit stale--especially the tomato one. The host was super nice and friendly, upon being seated we let her know that it was our first time here, she let us know what were the most popular tacos and margarita flavors. To start we got the chips and guacamole which was so fresh & delish. We wanted to order the shrimp ceviche but they were out. For dinner, my parents got the rib eye tacos & a quesabirria along with a mint lemon agua Fresca & mango margarita. For my dinner: Short rib tacos 10/10 So freaking juicy and tender, was so hyped that I got the last two orders of it. Rib eye 9/10 Super good and love the flavors Pollo Mole 8/10 Had a really good flavor but didn't taste at all like mole But loved that it had rice & beans Flan 10/10 Was super bomb I loved it. What's great about this place is that you can def tell they're food is fresh and made to order. Pretty ok, but not great. Went here on a Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant was pretty empty, and I had a couple of tacos and some margaritas. The margaritas were great, and very refreshing. The tacos were a mixed bag. The pulpo (octopus) taco was amazing, but the fried fish taco was incredibly dry and tasteless. It's really nice to know that people live locally and they take pride and interest in their community and they do a really good job here all of our needs were met. I came here to meet some friends for a quick bite during the week. They suggested it, and it's about midway between where we live so it's a good meeting spot. Parking can be found, but it's slim. The total time for parking is 90 minutes I believe. The parking meter person comes around often enough to be on the lookout. There's some seating outside as well. I started with their sangria. You just can't go wrong with sangria. After viewing the drink menu and seeing Palomas were served here, I had to ask about them. They're one of my favorite cocktails, but I'll only have it if they use grapefruit soda. Unfortunately for me they only use grapefruit juice. Someone will enjoy their Paloma here. I mean, that is the original way to make it. I just like a little dazzle dazzle. The chilaquiles were calling my name but they're only served on the weekend. I wasn't too bummed out and I ordered the crispy chicken flautas. Flavorful. Delicious. Crispy. I love guacamole. I love salsa verde. That's the description and that's what I topped them with. I ordered the beans and rice on the side. This plate was like a gift to my hungry stomach that sometimes howls like she's on the brink of death. They have mimosa flights - 3 mimosas - and offer an array of flavors. Guava, orange, prickly pear and more. I'm not accustomed to seeing a flight of drinks served in California. I went there to eat tonight, I heard about that place. Tonight is the first time. 1) Decor, modern look, nice and clean. 2) restroom modern look, has Toto toilet(toto is upscale brand for toilet). 3) Ordered Guacamole and chip, taste very good. 4) Husband and I both ordered 5 taco, 2 Tri-tip, 2 fish, 1 short rib. All the food arrived very fast. And food's decoration and presentation is nice. Instead of using a regular plate, they use a wooden block. (will show in photo). 5) I like the lighting in the restaurant, it is one slice of the wooden barrel and attached some lights to it. Will show in photo in below. 6) Waiter is super nice. 7) Also wed,thursday, friday. from 3pm to 6pm, is 20% off food and drink for happy hours. I just made it there tonight to try out in happy hours.
