Been to this place before with friends. Can be busy at times up to a 20-30 mins wait to get a table, indoor and outdoor seating, street parking as well. Food is pretty decent. I can personally say it's a hit or miss. I've gone before where it's a 10/10 knocked out of the ballpark and then others when it's a 6/10 where the meat is overcooked and I'm still chewing on my steak for 5 mins. Place is pretty nice as well, it can be busy as I've mentioned before. If it's busy, you can expect longer delays which tends to happen. Good for all ages.

Unfortunately, this place fell off. They took out their best taco, which was the ribeye taco. Their meat is under seasoned, and I found hair in my taco. Service needs a little more work. I feel like when restaurants expand they don't put enough effort to all their restaurants, and the food quality goes down. They need to revamp this location because it wasn't what it was before.

I witnessed a disturbing incident that left me quite concerned. While I am not typically a germaphobe, this experience was too intense to observe in real time. The waitress picked up the blood oranges off the bar table that some one was drinking at before and then proceeded to place them in jars and others drinks without any apparent concern for hygiene. There are people who believe that dirt does not harm, but it has been scientifically proven that fruits like limes, lemons, and oranges can harbor significant bacteria. I don't think I could return to that place, as the situation was quite off-putting. I understand that maintaining perfect cleanliness all the time is difficult, but this was a wide-open environment where anyone could clearly see the lack of proper hygiene practices.

5 Tacos & Beers is such a gem! We grabbed dinner here recently and had an awesome experience from start to finish. The outdoor patio is great--dog-friendly, spacious, and equipped with heaters, which made it super comfortable even as the evening cooled down. The service was fantastic: friendly, attentive, and quick without feeling rushed. Now... the beer selection. WOW. I couldn't believe how many taps they had! I was honestly overwhelmed by the options (in the best way), so I went with the choose-your-own beer flight and tried five different brews. Highly recommend if you're indecisive like me or just want to explore. Food-wise, they've got plenty of vegetarian and meat options, which makes it easy for anyone to find something they'll love. I had a quesabirria and a carne asada taco, and both were absolutely delicious. We also split the fresh guacamole and chips, which tasted super fresh. My wife had an empanada and a taco, and she loved hers as well. Overall, it was a great dinner--laid-back vibe, awesome food, amazing beer, and great service. I can't wait to come back and try even more tacos (and more beers!).

I was nice to come here for a taco or just to have a drink and sit outside and enjoy outdoor seating. they've got great chips and a salsa and avocado dip. The service is great.

5 Tacos and Beers does it again! I don't want to jinx it, but I have yet to come here and not enjoy the experience. From the delicious margaritas to the refreshing cucumber salad to the flavorful tacos, I always leave feeling full and happy.

Great ambiance, decent food, friendly & knowledgeable server but poor service. When we were seated, we were a party of 5 (with 2 kids) and there were only 4 table settings. After we received our appetizer, we had to ask for a fifth setting twice. After our appetizer was long gone, the two vegan plates came out. The big taco order came out 15 minutes later. The kids were getting restless. At this point, we had just two drinks and were hoping the server would come by so we could ask for water. We ended up asking for water 3 times (like we didn't even start with water!). We eventually got water at the end of our meal. I do appreciate that there was an entire vegan/vegetarian section on the menu and those tacos were quite good. Not my top pick for tacos but it was decent.

Brunch at Five Tacos & Beers is always a delicious treat! The service and the food never disappoint. In the ambience is always is always the cherry on top. Today I have one of my favorites, Chilaquiles and a hibiscus margarita. Both were absolutely yummy! This will always be one of my favorite spots.

We love this place BECUASE of the delicious drinks and tacos. We always get the 10 taco plate and the birria because of the flavor. You have to pair it with the delicious crispy beer

A very nice place to have lunch outside on a warm fall day. I had the crispy tacos and my friend had the fresh salad. Disappointed that their non-alcoholic beverage list was on the skimpy side -- no ginger beer or ginger ale. My tacos were delicious although many might consider them appetizer size. See my attached photo. The salad looked good although not efflorescent. All in all a tasty meal for the money but was left a little on the hungry side after. Service was good although busy.

I don't consider myself a beer connoisseur, but I like trying different beers and ciders so this place was right up my alley. I had a friend visiting Berkeley from out of town so we came here to hang out and catch up. One thing that stood out to me is this place, because it's a taproom and not a brewery, is open later than the other beer places in the East Bay. Many choices of beer and cider on tap. I tried the ginger peppercorn cider and it was very unique, I've never had a cider like this flavor, it's almost like a cross between ginger beer and cider. My friends enjoyed various beers on tap. The place is pretty small but very clean and cute. I like that you can choose from 10 oz or 16 oz pour, so people like me can try more varieties in smaller portion than just drinking one boring thing. I like variety. The all you can eat popcorn was a hit with our little group. The truffle flavor really elevates the popcorn and it goes well with beer! There's so much free parking in this area at night... super convenient... although it scared me for a minute when I couldn't find my car in the very empty street lot, before I realized I was another block farther down. This area of Berkeley feels pretty safe at night even at 11pm. Good place. I would definitely go again!

I won't include the full story that I subjected them all to when I came in, but, essentially, some horrid drama with my friends happened one night out at Tap that was partially witnessed by a security guard. I am insane and decided to do some investigating and try to talk to this security guard to hear the full truth, so I went in the next day early and talked to the sweetest bartender (Allison, I think) who listened to my whole story and texted the security guard for me to get more details! Such a girl's girl. I then came in again the next day (insane, I told you) and literally talked to a circle of people (including Andre? the security guard - sorry if that's not how you spell it) about the whole story again. They were all so kind and helpful and apologetic and both helped with my insane investigation and also made me feel better about the whole situation! And then the next week, I came in with (other) friends, and a lovely man who I believe is the manager recognized me and gave me a drink on the house! So nice I nearly cried. Love you all very much. I don't want to subject them to more harassment by insane college girls trying to conduct investigations into their situationship's behavior, but just know if you ever truly need to lol, go in before 9pm and you will meet the loveliest people very invested in your drama.
