I have tried nearly every nail salon in the past 6 years and this salon is consistently good. I have acrylic nails and my complaint with most salons is when they make them too thick. update: went to this place again. I don't know what possessed me to, but I did. Wanted a dip manicure with tips. Guy who did them did one hand and removed it all because it looked awful. He was finally done (if you could call it that), I looked at them and was like honestly I want these taken off they look bad, he put gel polish over top the dip, the dip was cracked underneath and uneven. I had them taken off and another technician did acrylics instead. They claimed that dip powder never hardens and it's hard to work with. The people at this salon have no idea what they're doing and it shows. None of them have been trained properly using dip powder which is why they try to push liquid gel on customers. The technician that did the acrylics was alright. The only nails that look reMotley close to the shape I prefer are the two pinkies. The nails are not even length wise. Also too much room between the cuticle and the start of the acrylics. Also, the atmosphere among the staff is terrible. They run around yelling about who gets what customer, they sit there and talk bad about their coworkers under their breath to the point where customers can hear them. They take personal phone calls while working on customer. Just a very unprofessional and not relaxing atmosphere for a nail salon. Moral of the story...do not go here and waste your money. My daughter and I were at the salon today to get pedicures and my daughter got a gel manicure The pedicure were ok as far as relaxing but my daughter got the gel nail polish and only a couple of hours her gel nails started to bubble and peel also the technician Tom made a mess on the outside of her nails and did not clean the polish off her skin around the nails I had sparkle mail polish on my nails I sat there for 20 minutes for my nail to dry on my foot they didn't instruct me to go to the nail dryer to dry my toenails until after I smudge all the nail polish off my right foot When I came into the salon an saw the place was empty I should've realized business was bad I do like the owner of the salon but her employees do a rush job and are more interested in having you upgrade your service so they can make more money then giving you quality service I was disappointed read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I have had many pedicures, some better than others but this one ranks as the worst, no doubt about it. Not only was the pedicure and treatment itself subpar, but afterwards when I spoke to the lady that did my pedicure at the back of the store as to not make a fuss, the exchange was unsatisfactory. She sat down to do my pedicure 10 minutes after my sister began her pedicure with someone else; the pedicure was so rushed that mine was finished first - 21 minutes, $39 for 21 minutes. Upon starting the pedicure, I was not acknowledged at all, not even a "hello" was offered. I was left with old nail polish still on my toes, toes with different nail lengths, and nails without full polish coverage. When I spoke with her privately, she immediately became defensive, without offering any resolution and charged me full price. The old nail polish was on there because the previous polish was "under the skin", the application was shoddy, no explanation given and she repeatedly said "we are the best, we do our best". The only conversation we had was when she asked if it was my first time there. She seemed irritated and rushed even though it wasn't that busy. She switched between me and the lady beside me often. I don't like when techs do that. I prefer to wait a little longer than have a tech go back and forth. Well let me say I had the WORST experience and highly recommend not going here, and should have read reviews and pictures before deciding a new spot. Got a pedicure was rushed he did an OK job but not really! The chair was old and broken. Wanted to Relax and did not at all. Then the owner who sits right in front wanted to do my nails so 2 different people! It was a Sunday they were overbooked and I had to wait! She starts to put on a full set cuts me twice At this point I'm bleeding. She wasn't going to my cuticle and was leaving gaps between the nail so I had asked her can u cover my entire nail she got mad started talking Chinese and then said to me in English I can't because it will crack.... ok well I have had my nails done before and had my entire nail covered. She proceeded to put on thick heavy acrylic mind you I'm still bleeding as she's putting on glue to my skin to seal the bleeding was a complete nightmare she was the owner she was rude and I left with the thick acrylic cut down I then had to go home and rip off, basically my entire nail bed ! They couldnt grasp the fact that I didnt want sheer nails. I got my nails done for prom and im thinking about going to get them redone because its awful. Me and my friend made appointments for two acrylic sets and both of our nails have black holes in them and bubbles. Mine are bumpy and crooked and the glue was stuck to my skin. They also didnt cut my cuticles or clean my nails. I told the lady all I wanted was straight and non bumpy nails and I got the opposite. They look fine from far away but for me to have to go home and put glitter on top of the black holes and bubbles is annoying. First time going here, I was passed around by students to remove my dip powder and then a man came out to finish. They did not say a single word to me, but he was really engaged in his conversation with another employee about how manicure clients is not where the money is at and that they'd rather be doing someone's pedicure because they make more money that way. That really made me feel great as a first time nail client all while still being completely ignored by both of them while they carry on the conversation. Today I got the wish.com version of what I hoped for on my nails I showed up for my 12:00 appointment, got ignored until 12:20, told to sit and soak my hands to get the product off and some one would be there soon. They literally had me soaking in acetone until 1:05 (so 30+ minutes of my hands sitting in a dish) before a student even touched my hands. So one hour in, my nails aren't even started yet. I asked if they knew when some one would get to me, they said dip powder takes hours to soak off and that usually they recommend you come in two separate days to take off and then put more on. LOL what???? Then, 1:15 the owner starts my nails, doesn't really say anything, doesn't ask me what I wanted, Is annoyed when I asked for the blue ombré inspiration photo and told me she could do that no problem. She starts, and as you can tell from the photos it was bad lol. She kept sighing in annoyance, rushed me through, left product ALL Over my nail beds and hands, and gave me the most embarrassing manicure of my life. Also, instead of gently tapping the powder off, she was literally slapping and knocking my hands. I told her I was on my hour lunch break...and this was a 2+ hour ordeal. But did that stop her from dropping everything to read her text messages? Nope And this, was $60. . I literally paid, left and went some where else to have these removed immediately. Left with jagged nails, absolutely horrible polish job and now this evening two of my toes are actually aching from the cut and cuticle trims - and my feet and nails were not in bad shape at all prior to the service. I called in the morning to make an appointment for a Mani/Pedi today at 3:30. The person who answered the phone told me yes and to come for 3:00. I agreed. I arrived on time and when I walked in, there were several people waiting and the. the person denied ever telling me to come in at 3:00. She told me there were 4 people ahead of me that were there for 2:30. Asked me if I wanted to wait. I asked her what was the point of booking appointments and that no, I did not want to wait. On vacation wanted a pedicure, so I looked up salons near me. Found 50 Shades and booked an appointment for me and my friend for 9:15am. Arrived at 9:10 and the salon was not even opened. Waited until 9:30 when someone finally arrived. The pedicure itself was not bad, but the polish applied was a horrible job!! Both my friend and I left with missed spots and smudged toes. My daughter and I wanted to have a girls day. She 4 and Penny took care of her. Penny was absolutely perfect! She was patient while my daughter warmed up to her. Helped pick out her color and made her comfortable. She was a saint and highly recommended!!! The woman who did my nails.. I don't even know her name. She barely said anything to me. She didn't ask what length or shape I wanted. I couldn't help but to feel like she was rushing but the salon was practically empty. She kept stopping to text then told me to pick out my color, which I decided on a gel and she came back with the wrong one. As I was trying to pay she told my daughter "it's time to go! first time here, I got the 50$ special where it included an massage with my pedicure. the massage was great and so were my toes , until I realized when I got home that they weren't even dry after the fact I sat under the dryer at the nail place for about 25 minutes. My toes are very mushy because of all the oils they used in the massage, to the point where I can rub them off with ease and all the nail polish will come off. I will suggest if you get the 50$ pedi have the tech dry your toenails from all oils before applying the nail polish. read more

I had a horrible experience here, one of the workers (obviously not properly trained, most likely not even licensed) Injured my finger (visibly bleeding and swollen and sore the next day ) and I insisted on a refund (not even requesting full price because i acknowledge product was used) and the owner Lilly has contacted my job several times trying to get me fired because I've written bad reviews about her unprofessional salon. She was calling me names to her clients such as fat, a slut, and I have only visited the salon once. This place will most likely be shut down soon because of the poor ownership and erratic behavior of the owner. If you think COVID 19 is a hoax, this is the place for you. Patrons are required to wear masks-employees, not. Zero evidence of any cleaning or sanitizing. Spent 2 hours there and not one person washed hands, no nail stations were wiped down, no drying station sanitized, no pedicure chairs wiped down-nothing. I watched an employee use a towel to wipe down surfaces in the salon-with no cleaner, the same towel was only being rinsed out in a pedicure bowl a few times. My sister just came back from this nail salon SOBBING! This used to her favorite place, she went here ALL the time. I just can't believe it. Her nails looked like a 3 year old painted them. She told me that the nail tech kept yelling at her for watching her do her nails, and kept moving her hands so aggressively. She said the nail lady was RUSHING to get them finished. The nail tech only did ONE COAT for each nail. She would do my sisters nail and put it in the lamp then do the next nail put it in the lamp. Do not go here! THE WORST GEL MANICURE OF MY LIFE. I should have known better after reading some of the reviews but this was horrible. The gel "manicure" took all of 15 minutes. I had to remind the tech to cut my cuticles, which she did not even do, she simply yanked them dry without any soak, push back, etc. I also had to ask her if she put top coat on both hands... turns out she only did one and said "I forget this step a lot!" so had to go back and do it. At the end, I also had to ask for lotion. Horrible, horrible, horrible!! My nails look so janky, uneven, lumpy and thick. For $35, this is a complete rip off. My nails look like a child did them. I asked my good friend for a salon recommendation; she said to call 50 Shades Nails & Spa and make an appointment with Lily because "Lily is the owner and she is the best!" I made an appointment 10 days ahead of time and I was excited for my special treat to myself. When I arrived, I was surprised at how brusquely I was greeted; I was told to "sit down and pick a color". A technician sat down to do my nails and asked me what I wanted done. I requested a gel French manicure. I expected the technician (Lily?) to cut my nails first, then shape. She did not. She took my hand and roughly filed my nails without even looking at what she was doing. To be honest, it was quite painful. I finally asked, "What's your name?" and she replied, "Emma." So, definitely not Lily, with whom I had made the appointment. I was disappointed and uncomfortable. Emma was rough with my hands and the end result is unacceptable - polish missing from parts of my nails, too much variety in the shapes of my nails, and the French tips are uneven and inconsistent. At the end, the technician asked me if I liked the work she had done. I said yes for two reasons - there was no way I wanted her to do my nails again and I couldn't wait to get out of the salon. I had my nails done. Asked for an acrylic pink/white fill and she proceeded to do a gel instead. She assured me I'd like it better and told her again for the acrylic. Walked out with the French gel which is already wearing off after 3 days and $45 later which only took 35 minutes to complete. I was visiting the area with friends fir a birthday and a few of us decided to get pedicures last minute. 50 shades was the only salon that worked to fit us in immediately (on our schedule) and provided top notch service. I had JJ. She was newer to the area but what a breath of fresh air! The citrus pedicure was wonderful and the massage and scrub was better than many higher end places I've been to. I went to get the SNS powder dip nails. When filing, the lady made 3 of my fingers bleed and did not do anything or say anything until I had to tell her that they were bleeding. After looking at them, it seems like she filed my nails down into the nail bed. The nails themselves to do not look the best. It was originally supposed to cost $48, but they gave me a $3 discount and said it was because my hands were small. Nothing for making my fingers bleed.
