515 brewing is a welcome oasis of fun and refreshment on the Greenbelt bike trail. They always have a great selection of fresh, local beers. The best part is it's just a few steps off of the bike trail or just off University Ave in Clive. I was really surprised to fine a comfortable patio, plus lots of couches and other comfy seating. I was expecting the typical restaurant style seating, but this was a nice change. So is the huge selection of board games provided by the company "Dealt Hand". There must be 50 different board games here, many are kid friendly. I recommend 515 to anyone looking for a fun afternoon or evening out with friends and family alike - especially if you like to hit the bike trail.

I had always wanted to stop here but for some reason I hadn't? That was a mistake. 515 is great place for a beer right on the bike trail on the edge of Windsor Heights. Upon walking in the large board of beers was a little overwhelming to me.....however the gal working there quickly asked if she could help me. I told her what I liked and she quickly made a suggestion and offered a sample. There were tons of games around the bar. I had asked for a water which is self serve from a tapped barrel. I definitely will be back to try more beers

11 seconds left on the big projection screen watching the Iowa State Cyclones come back to tie and eventually win in over time over OK STATE! We had to stay and watch the end of the game! We came here for beer and got an exciting sports experience as well! Now to the beer! 515 Brewing Company is exactly what the name says! It's all local all the time! They have 6 of their own beers on tap at any given moment. Then the thing that surprised me, was they fill the extra taps with other local craft beers from around the area! HOW COOL IS THAT! That a local brewery would share it tap space with competitors! SHOWING THE LOCAL LOVE IS what CRAFT BEER is all about! 515 Brewery has a wide range of styles from the Lil Tart (which zings your mouth with flavor) to the OJ IPA which has a nice hoppy bite! The Stout they make is a very high alcohal brew that is perfectly dark and smooth! I suggest getting a Flight to try all the beers the first time you are here! As for the brewery environment! It's nice and open with big screen projector playing the games! The brew master was even out doing some test on things so I went over and asked a few questions! He was super nice and talked to me about the process they use on their beers! This is a great spot just off the back trail in West Des Moines to visit on a Saturday afternoon!

    The bar.

Slow night. Good beers Good music Need to come back. Local and there own beers. Over a dozen to choose from!

Great place to chill with a delicious craft brew AND serve them up!

3 reasons to stop here for a tasty beverage: lively atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and above all - their craft brews taste so good on the lips. Drink Local!

Lively fun place. Different varieties of the local beer. Overall Great beers! Nice aroma. Try their IPA beer! Better than others. Owners were very nice. Great to talk to. Passionate about their work. We took a tour & got to know few things about beer. I would visit the place soon. I had their sampler Yeaaahhh!!! The only difference was no food was served but you can get outside favorite food. Or they have food trucks where you can order food too.

It is right off the trail, has free water, free live music, free bike parking, and a great patio. Add in cold local beer at fair prices, and it is pretty hard to complain. The people serving were mostly friendly, the beer was very good, and the selection is always great. If you go inside and head up the stairs, the selection gets even better. My only suggestion: please consider selling mix-and-match 4-packs or single cans to go. We wanted to buy some to take with us, but we could not agree on one flavor, so we skipped buying more and just stuck with what came out of the tap. For cyclists, bridge beers and bike beers are a real thing, and it feels like there is a missed opportunity there. That said, we will absolutely be back for all the "free" stuff, the local beer, and that amazing patio. Great trail stop, great beer, and a perfect place to take a break. Keep up the Lord's work. Cheers!

Plenty of bicycle parking, outdoor shaded seating with an outdoor bar and they were hosting a food truck. I appreciate the wide variety of beers, including a couple sours, seltzers and NA options. Staff were friendly and super helpful! What a great night out.

The Smush Burger with American Cheese, fried onions, pickles, and Lua Sauce. I wasn't expecting it to be so incredibly delicious. I got the Lua Sauce on the side because I wanted to taste just the burger. This has to be one of the best burgers. How does this place not get recognized or have I just been sleeping because the burger is phenomenal. Juicy, great flavor, and the Lua Sauce is excellent as well. The fires were very good too. The Service was good. A minor annoyance is the 3% fee for CC. Paid cash and still got the 3% fee. Just figure it into the price of business if you're going to get charged for it either way. Just an annoyance. Will definitely return for the burger. Sorry haters I felt it was better than Lachelle's, better flavor. Just my opinion.

She (never gave us her name) then came back for our drink order. And immediately asked for food, which we were not ready for. We gave her our drink order, after that we never seen her again. Sat there awhile. For so long we started looking at other restaurants around to eat. Then we she finally looked our way my husband made a motion to pay so we could just leave. Friday Night At the Angry Gold Fish…read more This is usually a solid place to get a burger, but came up short. We arrived around 7:30 and it was busy. I asked for the corner table which was large and there were two of us. I chose it because it was quiet and it was so loud. The waitress seamed super annoyed. I am deaf in one ear and this was the best place so I could hear and actually enjoy the place. I didn't feel her attitude was justified. If she would have kept pushing the point it was going to get pushed to the manager as I have several disabilities and I don't use them, but I do choose certain places to sit to help manage them. My expectation is for the waitress to be kind and shouldn't matter if it's two people, four people, or six people. Should be glad to have a customer and business. My wife and I got a Knob Creek on the rocks to start off. We also each got the old fashion, one with tots and one with fries. The burgers have really good flavor, but wasn't even hot. The bun was super dry and I wound up leaving the bun and eating the burger. The tots were really good, but also not hot. My wife's was the same. The French fries were good, but not hot. I didn't say anything to the waitress because based on her attitude it was just going to make the night worse and I was out to have a nice evening. I have been here several times and this is my first bad experience here and I hope it's not a sign that the restaurant is going downhill. This is one of my go to spots in Des Moines to get a great burger and it should be fire on a Friday night. Fresh and delicious, not cold and dry, is the new requirement, an angry waitress to complete the Angry Goldfish vibe?

Tonight we started by sharing a Pretzel & Beer Cheese appetizer (see picture). While I don't often order pretzels, this was a great combination of texture (soft / tearable) and flavor (buttery with tasty seasonings) that I really enjoyed! For dinner, my wife ordered Traditional Wings (see picture) while I opted for the Oh No! burger (see picture). While we both enjoyed the wings, sweet potato fries and a side order of tots, we both found the burger to be well done and a bit on the dry side to our tastes.
