I love 521 Filling Station. I always get Talf's BBQ Bacon Burger when I go. Their fries are great, and I love their onion rings, but the real star of the show is the ranch dressing. Yum yum, best restaurant ranch around. Buy a jar before you leave! The reason I took 1 star away is because the one time I ordered boneless wings instead of a burger, they were absolutely drowning in sauce lol. Don't get me wrong; I am a sauce girl. Hence, the love of the ranch here, but my wings were mostly sauce with some chicken. It was...a lot lol. Overall, though, 521 Filling Station is *the* spot if you're looking for a good, filling, yummy, simple burger. And onion rings. And ranch. Get the ranch lol. read more

No photographs. My bad. It was my first time eating here and considering some of the things I had heard, I was expecting a little more. However, the place was super clean and looked real neat as a converted gas station. Everyone was friendly and the servers were terrific. My tea never got below half full. I want to make sure I said what was nice about it. They bill themselves as "Home if the 16 oz. ribeye" although I got the 12 oz. version. I asked for it to be cooked medium and instead it was unfortunately cooked well. You can't uncook a steak and since I was with three other people, I did not say anything. The baked potato was lukewarm like it had been put on the plate long before the steak. Getting a potato warm is the easiest job the cooks and servers had tonight and I was disappointed they did not do that right. When the butter does not melt all the way, there's a problem. I was looking so forward to eating here and it sucks that they could not do very simple things right. With tip, it was $31 fir a mediocre meal. And remember what they say about first impressions. Never got to try the food. Came in and sat down and after 10 minutes other people came and sat down, got menus and placed orders but Noone ever came to our table right in the middle of the restaurant, one waitress who obviously didn't have our table even walked by and said hey how are yall doing. I understand we are not locals but still we come to kershaw several times a year to the race track. Might give them one more chance. read more

Ordered Hotdogs, wiener had texture like it was cooked 2 days ago and then reheated on the grill. NASTY!

The food we got sucked. We got two burgers and an appetizer with bleu cheese, the bleu cheese was absolutely disgusting. Also, was not a fan of the service. Server literally said "I don't know" after I asked what came on a burger. Definitely would not recommend. read more

First time I've been here since they moved to their new location and got a $6 cheeseburger and I can say without reservation that it was not worth it! The meat had no seasoning at all! Salt and pepper in normal amounts does wonders for the flavor of food! We placed atop go order and did not get a single napkin, so I have to ask for paper products now?! Maybe the guys who took over the old location do better, The Filling Station needs work. read more

Was my first trip here, been through town a bunch of time always in a hurry so I had time today. What a great place! Food selection is what you want. We got six piece wings with a salad and it was really good. Service was friendly and fast. The setting is quiet and seating is limited because it is a small dinner. Always packed but worth it if you can get in. Make this your out of way destination guys! If you like home cooked vs the regular gag fast food this is where you need to go! read more

Fast and very friendly service! Their French fries were excellent and the cold slaw was the best! I think it would have been great on a hot dog so if we visit here again we will try their hot dogs. The hamburger was very thick and tasty but , it wasn't very juicy. It was almost like it was to thick . Overall we were pleased with our meal and we saw so many other things on the menu to try on our next trip there!! See you soon I hope!! Family owned business for the win I think!! read more

Great place in K-town. The PROBLEM is it's too small!!! Which is probably why they do so much Togo business. Very friendly staff. Started out strong. Ended a little rough. We were out of drink for last half of our meal. Fried pickles were super greasy. Not drained at all. They tasted good but we had to use a lot of napkins to absorb the grease. Black n blue burger was really tasty, had that grilled taste. My steak was very nice. Although sliced thin They really need a bigger place. I think it's a great addition to Kershaw. read more

I met a business partner here for lunch today. I believe that they frequently visit because they seemed to know everyone. The staff was very nice. I grabbed a table and had water and a menu almost instantly. I ordered a mushroom and swiss burger. The amount of fries you get is amazing. I wish my burger was a bit burger or i had ordered a double. Something along those lines because it was so good that i wanted more of it. Not to mention that the prices can't be beat. This meal in my hometown would have probably been 12-15$ it was only 6$ for a filling plate of fries and tasty burger. read more

Disappointing from service to quality and price of food. Food was so over cooked it was hard. They cook their bacon and fries hard as a rock. Their service is awful which makes no sense as there were plenty of workers on duty. Don't expect a refill if you get the waitress we got. The wait for all this over cooked and over priced food was long. Your tea will be watered down I assure you. Was expecting so much more since this town has very few to choose from, but they obviously know that and don't care about quality. Go to Subway or Bojangles instead of here. We city folks stopped by on our way home from a cross country meet in Paigeland. Definitely a local place as everyone looked at us when we walked in the door. Great burgers and the BEST raw fries ever! Service is super fast and we liked that everyone who came in seemed to know everyone there, working and dining (except for us). We've passed this cute little place so many times in the past, I'm glad we stopped this time and will again next time we are in that area! read more

The food may be convenient, but it is inconsistent. It is hit and miss with quality. The food is mediocre at best. The hamburger steaks appeared to be cooked from frozen. The outside was burnt, tough to cut with a fork, uncooked and mealy inside...not edible. Hello..food poisoning!! The breakfast omlet was overcooked with the egg very brown and watery inside with raw vegetables. Burnt food bits stuffed inside the omlet. Pancakes/waffles on the side of being burnt as well. None of these are pleasant on the palate. A different order for a ribeye appeared to have a sirloin substitute. Menu prices are inconsistent. You may pay one price today, then order the exact items and pick it up later at a different price. Beware!! read more

I took my father in law from Massachusetts here for dinner. He enjoyed the southern comfort food! I had the BBQ sandwich with the fries and of course, fried pickles (one of my pregnancy cravings!). Everything was very fresh and had large portions of servings. Prices were not too bad. I bought in a family of five which included two small children and only paid around $40.
