Best Texas style BBQ in North Carolina. The brisket is incredibly juicy, the Cheerwine sausage is delicious and the dinosaur bone (beef rib) is one of the best pieces of meat I have ever seen. Get there early as they will sell out fast.

I'm a patron! First visit was phenomenal and I can hardly wait to go again. My son recommended it and I am very pleased.

Let's start with there was no line today! I anticipated a…read moreline as they're open on Saturdays and being that it was a holiday, I knew people would be out there. However there wasn't so we were able to walk right on in. There were some folks inside as well, and tables for us to sit. It's similar to most BBQ places where you order your meats by the pound. We had brisket, ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were so tender they fell off the bone. Literally just pulled the bone out. The flavors were outstanding. There was bbq sauce but truly wasn't needed, more just to enhance the flavors. The brisket was moist and tender. Seasoned to perfection. It as well needed nothing more. The pork was really good. Tender and juicy. We had a few sides but the most amazing one was the watermelon salad. With the mint, lime, cojita cheese, cucumbers, and red onions it was mind blowing. The way everything in the salad blended so well together was perfection. The Mac and cheese were just as top tier. The way the cheese pulled, the kick it had you could tell this was recipe that has been used for years. There was a bite to it and it was perfect. We also had the Mexican street corn that burst with so many flavors. And lastly we tried the hash brown casserole. It was definitely different but equally as delicious. The service was quick. The ladies that assisted us with our sides were the most friendliest. They encouraged us on the selection of sides, and shared their favorites with us. Overall one of the best BBQ I've had, definitely the best BBQ in NC.

We arrived at 9:45 on a chilly, drizzly day and there were probably 50 people in line ahead of us. There was a friendly staff member monitoring and organizing the line and she told us we were there on a 'slow' day because of the weather. After the restaurant opened at 11, we waited in line for probably another 45 minutes until we got inside to order. The brisket was great, but the best things we had were the kolaches (stuffed breakfast rolls available before they open), Cheerwine hot link sausage, and fruit crisp. The Cheerwine sausage was the biggest surprise. It had a great flavor and wasn't sweet - I've never had anything like it before. When we get a chance to go back, we'll probably skip the pulled pork and mac & cheese. They were fine but there's a lot to try and these weren't anything special.

Nothing was bad, actually, everything was pretty good. The problem was that nothing really crossed over into great. We ordered the $46 Pig Out platter with four proteins, two sides, hushpuppies and pickles. We went with coleslaw and sweet potato fries, and apparently I was feeling particularly committed that night because I ate almost the entire thing myself. The brisket was good. The slaw was good. The sweet potato fries were good. The hushpuppies were good. See the pattern? For something called the Pig Out, I also found myself wishing the meat felt a little less like the precious commodity on the plate and, once again, the pulled pork mostly made me wish I had a pound of Lupita's sitting in front of me instead. Midwood Smokehouse isn't bad BBQ by any stretch. It just landed firmly in the "good" category for us when I was hoping for something memorable. Considering I used some relationship capital convincing her to abandon Mac's for the night, I don't think I'll be suggesting a return trip anytime soon. Honestly, I'm not sure I'd make one myself either.

Unfortunately when I arrived at 5:30 both were already sold out. I went with sliced brisket, collard greens and Gouda Mac & Cheese. Everything was excellent! Good smoke ring on the brisket, meat was very juicy and not dry. Only complaint would be that I prefer the stems removed from my collards, not a deal breaker, just my preference. All of the BBQ sauces were excellent as well. The atmosphere was awesome, loved the old vintage hometown feel. Can't wait for my next visit, I will arrive earlier to try and get the daily specials!

The service was great with everyone there being super helpful and sweet to us first-timers. We ordered 1/4lb beef brisket (only my brother had that and really loved it!), sauced chicken wings, turkey sandwich with potato salad as a side, pulled pork sandwich with fries, and Smoked Gouda Mac&Cheese. Everything was delicious, especially the fries, turkey sandwich, Mac&Cheese, and the wings!! The place has a very warm atmosphere and we saw a lot of families enjoying their meals. Overall a great stop for anyone wanting to try Barbecue in the Triad area.
