As always, Front Porch did not disappoint. I hadn't visited since before COVID, but now that I've relocated to Rock Hill, I was craving a home-cooked meal with heart--and this spot delivers every time. I drove 20 minutes to a place I knew would be family-oriented, fast, friendly, and all-around amazing. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with smiles like the first time arriving to a family reunion. Housed in an old converted home, the restaurant has three cozy rooms filled with family portraits and homey décor. Depending on the time, it can get a little loud. The staff? Nothing short of wonderful. I had two attentive waitresses who made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. And that sweet tea? Whew--slap yo momma good. Perfectly sweet, perfectly southern. Now let's talk food. It arrived hot and ready--comfort food at its finest. The fried chicken was seasoned just right and hit every spot I didn't know needed hitting. The mac and cheese was decent, though I've had better from them in the past. But those yams? Who made those? Lip-smacking, bowl-licking good. Whoever's in the kitchen deserves a high five and a hug. The steamed cabbage was a simple but satisfying finish. If you live near or far, this place is worth every mile of the drive. Whether you're coming for the food, the warmth, or both, Front Porch wraps you in southern comfort and sends you home full and happy.

Great spot for some real Southern food! We came in about 35 until close but they had no problem with us sitting in. Our food took about 30 minutes to arrive, but it was fresh! The fried chicken and squash were delicious! Mashed potatoes were just ok. Will definitely want to stop in here again next time I'm driving through!

Vibe is an old country house...food is solid country cooking. Didn't need extra seasoning. Portions were great. No room for dessert but I wanted to try. Overall a great stop for lunch. Will be back.

Visited this restaurant while I was in the area and was pleased to see such good reviews on Yelp. It resembles an old house - not sure if it was or not, but it has an old charming vibe. We were seated in a back dining room and servers quickly attended to us. I ordered the fried flounder with Mac and cheese and fried green tomatoes. The sides were just okay but the flounder was really good. I shared my plate with my mom who ordered the pulled pork plate. That dish was ok but the flounder was definitely a better choice. The staff was friendly and it seems to be a popular restaurant since customers were steady coming and going. Location is great, just off the highway, and the prices are reasonable. Just don't expect anything fancy - paper menus you'll receive have definitely been around for awhile, the furniture is old and some mismatch too. I didn't mind this as much and I wouldn't be opposed to returning again.

We stopped here as a last minute decision on our way home from Charlotte. It was a great choice! The food is homemade, Southern deliciousness with huge portions.

Delicious food and such a cute restaurant! We stopped in during a road trip and it was great! I got the roast beef, very tender and flavorful.

The food was terrific! My husband loved his burger and coleslaw. We came back a few days later and had the best fried chicken!

I am usually surprised at how easy it is to get a seat. It's a big space which helps but the food is so good. I always anticipate having to wait. Unless there is a sporting event next-door, I can usually find a place at the bar or get a table. If you sit at the bar, hope Mariah is there. She makes a good cocktail and she's incredibly sweet. Food is consistent and very good. Their smoked wings must be the best in town get the lemon pepper rub in the house made blue cheese dip. You won't regret it. The blackened chicken Caesar salad is also a huge hit. I highly recommend this place. Enjoy!

We were a little confused as to how to enter the restaurant, but I chalk that up to being tired. The space is wide open and airy, with large windows and skylights. The restaurant was nice and clean, save for something that was splashed on the wall in our booth - but it's a restaurant. There's going to be little picky things here and there and I'm sure it was wiped down by the end of the day! Our hostess was also our server and she was so knowledgeable about the menu. I took her suggestions at every turn and did not regret it. We started off with the Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts app and let me tell you - I could've eaten that as my entire meal. They are SO delicious and I'll be dreaming of them until I can return to Rock Hill. Holy cow, they were good - crispy on the outside, loaded with flavor and just enough spice to give the sweetness a little bite. So good. My husband had the country fried steak and he said it was very good. Not the best he's ever had, he said, but good enough. He wished there'd been more steak and less crust, but the flavor was right on. They were out of the salt and pepper flounder, so I changed my order to the ranch chicken. Ummmm....excuse me. Who says not to order chicken breasts at restaurants? The portion size is SO generous and the chicken is SO DELICIOUS that I, the girl who rarely bothers to take leftovers, boxed up what was left and brought it back to my hotel and ate it as a midnight snack. The grilled zucchini served on the side of it was delicious. If I ever get back, I'll ask if I can skip the potatoes in favor of more of that zucchini! We didn't really have room for dessert, but when we heard about the warm banana pudding, we were curious. DO NOT SKIP THIS DESSERT. If you're a banana pudding fan, this will blow your mind. Absolutely incredible! It's both warm and cool at the same time, caramelized bananas and a torched meringue topping were bowl-licking delicious. All in all, this was a fantastic experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

The meatloaf was moist and cooked to perfection, as were the broccoli and mash potatoes with gravy. The fried chicken was crispy and moist. The first time was in November 2025 and 2nd time March 2026 where the bartenders were professional, welcoming, knowledgeable, and made some of the best Bloody Marys we've had in Charlotte. The food was excellent, and we left both times excited to come back. Unfortunately, this Sunday's visit (around 2 p.m.) felt like a different restaurant. It was much busier, and service was noticeably lacking. We waited quite a while just to be acknowledged, our drinks weren't nearly the quality they had been before, and the Bloody Mary tasted like it came straight from a mix instead of being handcrafted like our previous visits. The food was also disappointing. It was much saltier than we remembered, and we never received the Caesar salad with steak we ordered. To the staff's credit, it wasn't on our bill, so we didn't mention it. Overall, no one was rude, but the attention to detail, professionalism, and overall experience that earned our previous five-star reviews just wasn't there this time. We're hoping this was simply an off day because we genuinely loved this place and would like to see it return to the high standard that made us regular customers.

Oh. My. God. That's what me and my friend said repeatedly after dining at The Garden Cafe…read morerecently. She was visiting from Maryland and wanted a real southern meal. I have never been but it was suggested to me to take her here. Upon arriving we parked in the large gravel parking lot. There was a beautiful rustic garden area with lots of seating, a fountain with live turtles and hanging lights making this spot a great place to hang out with a drink on a pleasant night. The front of the cafe has lots of amazing items like handmade soaps, honey, syrups, sauces, kitchen utensils and other merchandise. It was fun to look around as we waited for our reservation time to come. Escorted to our table we passed by a bar area that would be nice if you were waiting for your table and could have a drink. The main dining area held a lot of booths with some tables in the middle of the room. I think the booths gave you a certain amount of privacy and also keep the volume low so it was easy to converse with your company. Also on our table I noticed a tag with my name, reservation time and how many was expected. It was held in place with an old style clothes pin. Very cute touch and nice to see how organized they were. Our server was very attentive and answered all our questions about the items we were interested in ordering. We both ordered sweet tea with our meal and they came in what I have to believe were old fashioned jelly or jam jars! It was so appropriate! Also I barely could get my tea down a quarter of the way before she showed back up and topped off our drinks! The tea tasted like it had been sitting on the back porch all day soaking up the sun. It was just the right amount of sweet too! After we ordered we quickly got a basket of warm rolls and butter and a side salad. The salad was very bright and looked fresh and was served with dressing on the side which my friend liked. She ordered the Jereline's Chicken. It was two breaded chicken breasts, served w/ pepper gravy over mashed potatoes. I had a taste of the chicken and the breading was light and seasoned lovely and it was very juicy. I ordered the Pecan Crusted Chicken sandwich, which was fried pecan breaded chicken, lettuce, bacon, red onion on a crusty hoagie roll minus the honey Dijon. My side of fries came in what I would call a strawberry pint container. Too cute! The fries were hot and crispy! The nutty flavor of the pecans with the smokey flavor from the bacon made this sandwich a real winner! Even though the dinners filled us up there was no way we could pass up dessert. Be aware their menu does change as I was looking forward to the creme brulee but was absolutely not missing it after ordering their bourbon pecan pie. It came warm, the crust was flaky and the fresh whip cream really added to the whole bite. My friend was deeply satisfied that she got her southern meal and I couldn't stop saying "oh my god" all the way home. It was just an overall very enjoyable experience.
