Super fun date night activity! Just make sure you carve out the appropriate time needed. I went tufting on a Thursday afternoon. It was basically empty inside. You provide your own image. They provide all of the other materials. Staff leads you through everything and makes the experience very easy.

We stopped by the day after Thanksgiving and the studio was very busy with only one person working. Ding was very helpful and knowledgable. He was able to answer all our questions and provide guidance while juggling a bunch of other customers. We had a great experience and are very happy with our rugs and we think that Ding deserves a raise.

Charlie is the best! made our experience memorable

With so few…read moreindependent toy stores left, we've always been willing to pay the higher prices instead of buying everything from a big box retailer. Unfortunately, our most recent experience was really disappointing. We purchased several items, including three gifts for the same child, and simply asked if they could be gift wrapped together. Instead of just wrapping the gifts or politely explaining the policy, the employee repeatedly insisted that they charge for gift wrapping on items under $10, even though the three gifts we wanted wrapped together totaled well over $50. In total, we spent close to $200 during our visit. The interaction quickly became argumentative and unnecessarily uncomfortable. The owner was present and ultimately wrapped the gifts herself, but rather than helping de-escalate the situation, she allowed the interaction to continue in an unprofessional manner. To make matters worse, when we got home, we realized we'd been charged twice for one of our purchases. I called to have the extra charge reversed, and while they corrected the mistake, I also shared how disappointed I was with our experience in the store. Instead of receiving a sincere apology, I was met with what felt like a dismissive, backhanded response. Mistakes happen, but it's how they're handled that leaves a lasting impression. We genuinely want to continue supporting local businesses like this one, even if it means paying more than shopping at a big-box store. Unfortunately, after this experience, it's hard to justify returning. I hope this feedback encourages the owners to prioritize customer service, because that's ultimately what keeps loyal customers coming back. *also to add at the end of all of this I realized I had forgotten to get a birthday card so I wanted to grab one after checking out with all of our items and they wouldn't accept card or Apple Pay for a $6 birthday card. I needed to purchase something else to make it a $10 purchase or cash only (who carries or accepts cash anymore?) Like in what world!? Of course they wouldn't make an exception. The icing on the cake of a bad experience! This response is back to the owner- Thank you for taking the time to respond. I understand that small businesses need policies, and my review was never about expecting special treatment or criticizing those policies. My disappointment was with how the situation was handled. At no point was it explained that the $10 minimum applied to each individual item rather than the gifts being wrapped together. That had never been our understanding from previous visits, so the interaction was confusing and quickly became argumentative instead of simply being explained. One of the reasons we've continued to shop at your store, despite paying more than we would elsewhere, is the convenience and service, including gift wrapping. When purchasing multiple gifts for the same child, wrapping only some of them defeats much of that convenience. While you mention they were wrapped as a courtesy, that only happened after an uncomfortable exchange, which is the part that left a lasting impression. I appreciate your apology for the duplicate charge, but when I called, I was hoping for acknowledgment of the overall experience, not just the billing error. My review wasn't about policies, it was about customer service. We genuinely wanted to continue supporting your store, which is why this experience was so disappointing.

Food trucks and vendors available throughout the event. Air conditioning not working or not high enough. It was a sweaty day. Less exhibitions and not as many booths. Kind of let down this year... Not as good as previous years. We went in Sunday. I'm not sure if vendors had already packed up or what. Value was not there. Service was fine, people were nice at the booths. Just disappointed in the convention overall. It seemed to be not as good as previous years.

I've been going to Wondercon for years, taking a few hiatus years off due to child rearing…read morelogistics. Now, my son's been to LA Comic Con, San Diego Comic Con and Anaheim Wonder Con.... This is his favorite convention between the 3. He's not into comic books per se, he's not into TCG's Trading Card Games and "Gaming", he's not into Cosplay ('tho doesn't mind dressing up or people watching), he's not into Artist's Alley nor Celebrities, and generally likes Lego, some video games and Star Wars. So for children 7-14, this is a good convention for many interests. The Lego they have here is primarily 2 main vendors and a few smaller ones who sell unlicensed brick (Lego styled designer imposter) "Mini-Figures" that has many characters that Lego never built, so are "custom" probably mass produced in China, accessible probably at Alibaba or Temu for cheap in bulk. They're usually $5 each or 5 for $20 at Wondercon. The Star Wars stuff is sparce, and they used to have a vendor who sold high end inspired (not licensed) Light Sabers. This convention has a really good representation of vintage to modern comic book back-issues in a focused area of the convention hall. If you collect comics this is equal in many ways to SDCC. The "Artists Alley" pales in comparison to what their creator area used to be with top names of writers, penciling artists and inker artists who appeared representing Marvel, DC and Indie (Dark Horse, Image, etc.) comic publishers who were top named talent. These days they have maybe a half dozen to dozen at best recognizable (mainly local talent) major names. This year (2026) there was Ron Lim, Don Ho, Jimmy Cheung, Norm Rapmund, Joel Gomez, David Mack and a few others. So, the comic book creator guest list continues to shrink (although this year Wondercon competed the same weekend as the C2E2 show, Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo. Parking was $25 on-site, but there's FREE parking about 0.5 to a 1.5 miles away walking distance in residential areas. Overall the show has become more of a "Pop Culture Expo" than a comic book convention, lacking presence by any of the big publishers with corporate booths (again, maybe C2E2 is a bigger show than Wondercon and that's where everyone went in '26). I see rooms of improvement revolving around revisiting the glory days of yore, and looking back at what once made Wondercon the 2nd biggest show on the West Coast behind San Diego Comic Con (and this is a SDCC sister show too, by the same organizers). As many have noted in the past decade, Wondercon was a better show when it was held in San Francisco. It's still a good show worth attending no matter what.

Later on got super into Pokemon and stopped by to see what they got and always caught myself looking at their big glass case of etbs, booster bundles, and single packs. They had a good selection of black bolt and white flair at the time and the employees there were very helpful but at times not very knowledgeable on their items or prices haha.
