A store you would expect to see the Big Bang Theory cast in. It's small, but crammed pack of superhero, cartoon, and sci-fi toys and action figures. All behind glass cases so you can touch or damage them. Some are new, most are used, but some of the used ones are in pristine condition. Because it's small, it can get crowed in there really fast. If you're bending down to look at something, people can't really get behind you, so you feel you're in the way. I suggest going into the early morning before the crowd hits. Some of the prices aren't bad, but some are collectors pricing. Still, it's fun to browse if you're into this kind of thing. If you're not, it might be mildly amusing to watch grown men geek over stuff, although there are some Barbie and Disney Princess collectables. Basically, it's a flashback to your childhood that when you see the price their selling for, you wonder why you opened it back then! (Well, you know why, you were a kid, and they cool to play with and show off to your friends.) read more

I've been a toy collector for 30+ years and I need all toy collectors to know, this is the single best toy store I've been to. In my travels, Southern California has the best toy stores and this shop is head and shoulders above the rest. My tastes have grown niche in the last few years and money has gotten tighter but THIS STORE HAS YOUR GRAIL! Stores like these simply don't seem to exist anymore, so when I rediscovered this shop a month ago, I was really happy. I started visiting this shop around 20 years ago when it was in Anaheim. I'd just graduated college and was beginning to collect, when collecting wasn't quite what it is today. Kelly's shop was right next to the My D-Pins, and I'd visit both places. Her new location is cozy, and the shop is still filled wall to wall with gems. The owner has always been warm and friendly, whether you're browsing, buying, or selling. Regardless of age, this toy store is for EVERYONE!! My child soul jumped up & down with joy in this store of great memories!! The nostalgia is palpable! I was there to purchase a birthday gift for a one year old. Now if course I got a noisy lit up plastic toy that will likely break before she has a lasting memory but she loves now.But I also wanted to get a collectible of value that she will always treasure to commemorate the only birthday we get that has no "s" after "year"and will become an antique when she is my age. She was born & lives in California & was born in the Chinese calendar year of the rat. What better than Minnie Mouse??? I found an adorable little music player ceramic I have a birthday mini that plays happy birthday. It is in perfect condition and still has the tag and the price tag from its original purchase from over 50 years ago. Her parents are absolutely delighted in this precious when you're always mesmerized by Minnie mouse spinning around saying happy birthday to her. I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase and I have to admit I spent a good hour walking around the store rejoicing in memories of childhood from every era of my life! This is a must experience for sure! The store was a little difficult to find although not the fault of the store itself. It is in a little German shopping village in Huntington Beach and the map at the entryway seems to be turned backwards. I wandered a bit before I discovered that if you come from the parking lot and make an immediate left and go to the end Kelly's toy shop is on the corner at your right. Hopefully that helps! We walked in to see what treasures we'd find inside and it was like I was teleported back in time to my childhood. There were so many vintage toys I haven't seen since then so it was a great walk down memory lane. The toys all seemed to be in good shape and organized by type and it seemed by period. I saw really vintage toys from the 50's too. If you're a toy collector and looking for that rare find this might just be the place. Went in on a Saturday about 330ish, walked around saw some TMNT figures. Bumped into a dude named "Serj". Very nice guy. Tons of old school toys and a bit new. Serj gave me a killer deal on a couple of figures and knocked off about $8. Totally worth going to and I will be back to get more. Great place, friendly staff. Easy to love. This store is like walking in on Christmas Morning. The thrill that jumps in my heart is real. So many choices and so much fun! Toys from many genres, Star Wars, Gi Joe, Lego, Hot Wheels, My little Pony, Disney and the list goes on and on. The owner is a wonderful friendly shop owner (perfect for the charming Old World Village)who not only knows her stuff but displays a charm that just doesn't exist as much as it should these days. Think of a cross between Yoda's Wisdom and Mrs. Brady's love. The gentleman who helped me was fun, pleasant, and on point with his collector knowledge. He is a fun person who seems to love what he does. Truly if you were a kid who woke up watching Saturday morning cartoons and can remember playing with your favorite toys they probably have it or will have it here. Great place to find incredible toys and collectibles from various eras at fair prices and they constantly rotate stock . Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I frequent Frank and Sons collectible show and though Kelly's toy stop is significantly smaller it has plenty of parking and plenty of space to browse with comfort. I left the store with plenty of goodies and did not break the bank. It's also great that they allow you to examine an item before you purchase. This store breathes new life into Old World in Huntington Beach which is a place that I am ashamed to say I had no idea existed until Kelly's Toy Stop moved here. This place is awesome. My era is '65 to '83, or as I refer to it, "Trek to Jedi". What's in-between? Apes, Six Million, Mego, Galactica, Buck Rogers... I walk into Kelly's and I hand over my wallet. Last time, they had lots of what I typically look for. I made a (hopefully incorrect) declaration to the very friendly (and knowledgeable) young cashier, "It will never be this good here again", I couldn't believe the wealth of hard-to-find goodies! I tend to assume everyone is looking for the same stuff as I, but having been in Kelly's a few times, I see hardcores for Disney, Barbie, GI Joe - all sorts - she's got it covered. AND, possibly best of all, they've worked with me price-wise, without hesitation. I don't immediately get discouraged by the sticker price! Now that Bunky Brothers and the best shops in Pomona's Antique Row are closed, and Frank and Sons are delusional with their pricing, Kelly's is the last-standing awesome vintage toy shop. Son and I were so shocked that she was the Owner of Kelly's. We walked in and felt like we were in a child's dream all the toys I remembered as a kid they were right there...for me to buy, to Own and to touch! I am a very serious doll collector my collection started in the 70's to current 2017, had to buy every Christmas Barbie too...Bob Mackie's and I own the first Transgender Barbie doll was a out 300 bucks when they came out pre ordered. I saw dolls in Kelly's that I had to have so I bought the Sonny Bono and Michael Jackson by Barbie I love those 2 dolls. Quite an interesting and unique shop. Coming here is like getting a blast from the past. The ship literally has toys from even the 70s, but a lot of the 80s and 90s, which I grew up on. The best toy shop I've ever been to, hands down. The owner, Kelly, as well as Serge and everyone else we've dealt with there have been so kind to us and our children and so helpful. Our son Jackson LOVES his trips to 'Miss Kelly's' shop, usually in search of Legos and Ninja Turtles. She's even set aside some Ninjago sets she thought he'd like for the next time we came in. I recently found out about this store and decided to check it out today. At first it was a little hard to find because it's tucked away in a corner of this German themed plaza. The owners are friendly, helpful, and chats with the customers. Inside has a nostalgic feel. There are many shelves filled with really cute vintage toys and collectibles. Nirvana for nerdy collectors who scour endless aisles looking for that one awesome item, this place has more than enough hidden gems to aid in emptying your wallet. On my last trip in, I score an inflatable Godzilla punching bag from 1985 for $50, marked down from $75. It was one of those purchases I had to make, since I've never seen one before (and I was around when they were produced) and I'm willing to bet I won't see another for a while, if ever. They've got collectibles from Disney, old horror stuff, comic book characters, rare '70s and '80s toys... really, there's just too much in here to list it all.
