I tried it not knowing what to do, all the beads came off all over the floor! My granddaughter was in disbelief and tears in her eyes. I felt very bad, but it was pick up time no time for her to make another one. For the 5 year old to leave with broken heart was not nice at all. The 7 year old tied his own bracelet but it all came apart in the car. For $99 per kid I paid almost $200, definitely was not cheap. Why can the teacher help the younger ones tying the bracelets? The beautiful long nails maybe more useful as a receptionist or secretary. I was more than disappointed!

There were three art teachers showcasing three different cars the kids could make, a big rig, VW better type and a race car. The kids had time to make two model cars, and they are given a little takeout box to take as the figures need a couple days to dry. The positives: (1) only kids participating are included in the 15 kid flat rate charge for parties, so non participating siblings and adults are unlimited up to capacity for the venue. You can bring more than 15 kids, but then you are charged per child or adult doing the art. (2) you can bring your own food and parents and kids can eat anytime during the party. I hate being forced to feed everyone the last 30 or 45 minutes of a party. We catered some Vietnamese food (Huong Giang Food to Go next to Whale Spa. Food was amazing) and ordered from Ameci's pizza in the same plaza (amazing service, prices and pizzas!) (3) venue is huge (4) location is good, it's right next to a Daiso in case you forget anything (5) staff are easy going (6) you don't need to bring any decorations unless you want to since they will make art to suit your child's theme. There isn't really a negative aside from the shorter time frame, we get 30 minutes to set up but the parties are set for two hours. Next time, I will probably purchase an extra hour. Remember to purchase three table clothes for tables that are 2.5 by 5 feet, I got them at Hobby Lobby for 99 cents each. I will be back for other parties.

"Storytime", an hour of song, story, and coordinated art projects for pre-schoolers and their mothers and fathers. Sponsored by the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity and Soco and the OC Mix. It was an hours event on Monday from 1-2pm (and is held every 2 weeks). The first half hour is a sing session with the sensational Christa Mae (www.christamae.com) who sings and plays popular nursery rhymes on her guitar. She's very entertaining and engaging. 1 book is then read followed by a craft. The craft supplies are provided by the center. It looked crowded when we were driving in to the complex. Luckily the parking lot was larger closer to the building that we needed to go to. It was such an awesome surprise walking in. Art makes me happy. I kept running around and taking pictures with everything. I even have a few bathroom selfies. I never like taking photos of just me in it but I couldn't help it. Bugs bunny, pepe le pew, winnie the pooh, and wizard of oz just to name a few of the amazing art work. It's like going back in time and seeing all your favorite cartoons. Great art to check out. She was incredibly flexible with scheduling and working with me on the event planning. The location was easy to get to in Newport and the studio itself had the perfect amount of space for my group of 7 people. Be aware that you will have to pay for parking, but it's relatively inexpensive and done via app. During the event itself, Jeniece was patient and made jokes which we were very grateful for given that many of us hadn't painted or attempted visual art since high school. She provided the final product options and we voted on which we'd all complete. She was very attentive in the lesson -- she both demonstrated and walked around the class to see how we were progressing. She was incredibly positive with her feedback. I love taking the adult art class here! I've completed 2 paintings and 3 acrylic pieces with Sher…read moreso far. I've been an oil painter since I was a child. I am 27 years old, I'd say the class ranges from 17-70! There is about 10-ish people in the class. Each person works on their own piece- meaning she is NOT up in the front giving instructions while everyone paints the same dang thing. This is not the type of class. The classes are intimate, and very relaxed. She has everything you need to start your first masterpiece. Really, you don't need to bring a thing! You can choose any medium in the adult class- oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, ceramics, and probably even more. It's is SUCH a great place for a beginner, because you can try all the different mediums until you find one right for you, with no investment in supplies! This is rare. Sher really is a wonderful woman. She is as hands on or hands off as you need. If you need her to sit by you and walk you through every step, she's there. If you want to do you own thing she'll stop by with once or twice with encouragement and her two cents! Most students in the adult class have been going to her for years and doing their own thing, so she's always able to give extra attention to newbies. She is very chatty, it seems like everyone in the class is old friends. She has great stories to tell. I'm a bit quieter while I'm painting, but I do not find the chatter among the class distracting at all. Even though I've painted most my life, i was a bit nervous coming into a new studio- NO NEED! This is the most relaxed, kind group of people I've found. No artsy egos, no judgment, no pressure. Lastly, her children's classes and art camps seem to be super popular. Some of the parents are now in the adult class because they were jealous of how much fun the kids were having. How cool is that!
