As a previous cosmetologist with 70 % of my work being nail related, I am always leery about trying new places and checking sanitation and business practices. 5280 has very much impressed me. I've been there twice now, both times with my 20 year old daughter for pedicures and basic manicures the first time and pedicures only the second time. Both experiences were wonderful for both of us. The salon is clean, the staff friendly, ( they offer you bottled water during your service) and very attentive. They do little extras like wrap your feet in warm towels prior to polishing your toenails! They also have a punchcard, so your tenth service is free! They offer 2 hour free parking out back as well as a few spots out front. If you are looking for place to relaxed a pamper yourself a bit, try out 5280! read more

I went here a little over a week ago (1pm on Sun. 2/8) with my friend for a mani/pedi and was really looking forward to our trip because of the reviews. Sadly, we were both disappointed. For starters, we'd booked appointments and had to wait quite a bit before being taken back to our chairs. We went back at the same time, but my friend was started on a good half hour before me. I was left soaking so long they had to come by and heat up my water, which then had to be heated up again during my pedicure. The tech who worked on me was nice, but was way too aggressive at cleaning my cuticles. I have never been nipped to the point of bleeding before and 4 of my toes were. I still have scabs over a week later. I also had the cuticle on my big toe "cleaned" so much during the pedicure that it's completely gone and have been dealing with it being inflamed and infected off and on for the past week. It was getting a little tender while he was working on it, but I had no idea that it had been scraped raw. He did do a nice job on the actual polish which is still holding up quite well, but I'm really confused at how he couldn't have seen what was happening to my cuticles while working on them. I'm just glad that they were opening up clean tools for each person. I really hope that the bowls are sanitized each time too. (I'm assuming they are, but I wasn't paying close enough attention to notice) I'm just hoping that it grows back, heals properly, and that I didn't pick up anything while I was there having this very open wound created on my toe. I'm going to be heading to the Dr. this week to have it looked at as it is not pretty and I now have a sizable gap between where my cuticle is and my nail is. I have never had any issues with my cuticles, or nail fungus, or anything in my life! My manicure was pretty standard, and was nipped a couple times during that as well, but to be fair, my cuticles were a mess prior to that from all of the weekend warrior projects we've been doing around the house lately so I'm not sure if that made it more difficult to work on me or what. My friend had a different experience with her tech and was only nipped once and was apologized to when it happened. With both of us, we were given our manicures while sitting in the pedicure chair. This was very uncomfortable for two reasons: one, while the chairs are nice for a bit while getting a pedicure, sitting in them for close to two hours while being moved up clear to the front (maybe to make it easier on the tech??) and unable to sit with your legs at a natural, relaxed angle is not. We both we very sore by the time we got out. And two, while my tech moved back and forth from either side to work on my hands, hers did not. What this resulted in was her back being sore from sitting twisted to the side and her nails were painted unevenly. There were whole sections along the sides that were missed because of the odd angle. We didn't notice this until after we left and were too far away to come back and have fixed. We both thought it was weird that we weren't moved to a manicure table. I think we were in the chairs for almost two hours total. Way too long, IMO. The manager that was working seemed to be genuinely interested in making sure everything was ok and was walking around every so often checking on people. He gave me a coupon for having to wait with us having had booked an appointment, but really, after realizing what happened to my cuticles after I got home and comparing notes with my friend, we will not be back. I do not feel that this was worth the $100+ that she spent and wish I had a coupon to cover my Dr. copays. I really wanted to like this place based on what everyone else was saying, but sadly, I can't say that we had the same experience. One star for the few things that were done right, but I can't overlook my mangled, infected toe. *update My toe is healing, but looks horrid. I will definitely NOT be going back here. The service was very very poor and the nail tech was very rude. They charged me $98 for a set of nails that definitely was not $98 work at all. My appointment was at 5:30 and my nails weren't started until after 6. When she was applying the acrylic to my nails she made them way to thick and bulky. I have attempted to do my own acrylics (Not good at it) and they literally looked just like that. She was going to leave them like that until I said something. The acrylic did not go down to my cuticle and cover my WHOLE real nail like it's supposed to. it Looks like I've had these for a week and some change already when I JUST got them done yesterday. The shape is horrible and again, looks like I've had them for a week already. The shape is crooked on most nails, uneven, and not crisp like they should be. The paint was applied unevenly. You can see it and feel it. There's bubbles and streaks everywhere. The work was very rushed. She was rude and tried to hurry up and finish so that she could leave. I had to ask her to fix so many wrong things which she would have left if I didn't say anything. And she had an attitude every time I asked her to fix something. Again like I said, definitely wasn't $98 work. More like $40. I don't know the name of the lady who did my nails but she has a tattoo on her right forearm that wraps around half way. read more

This place is horrible and disgusting. The lady who was working on my hands had nail fungus. (I work in the health care field and I know what nail fungus is). I was not able to get a picture. Then she tossed the OLD and DIRTY water from the manicure into the pedicure water. That is not SANITARY. I could not enjoy my manicure or pedicure anymore. I've been getting a gel manicure about every two weeks for the past three years. I just moved to Denver and have had a hard time finding a salon I like. It was clean and the manicure was good, but I wasn't super impressed with the experience. I chose my first color and was told it was powder, so he brought the few gel selections. I asked which were OPI and he said they didn't carry any gel OPI colors which blew my mind. I've never encountered a salon that didn't have them. I prefer OPI gels because they last longest. I then chose a second color from the samples he provided, but was told again that I couldn't use that color. Was not sure why not... he brought a different color over from their $5 extra selection. It was my third choice so I was not charged, but it was frustrating to go through this process. read more

I had my French shellac manicure on Friday March 25, 2016 after that for two days, my four nails were pealed. I went back to the store to fix it and the lady just filed them and put on a top coat. It made my nail thicker than usual. I asked her if she could repaint all but she didn't do it. She told me it was okay. After that another two days, I can see my nails had cracks all over under the top coat. I was very disappointed and will never go back there again. No attention to detail, no point in calling ahead and making an appointment. Carve out 2 hours if you want a mani/pedi. Well I think this may have been my 5th pedicure in my lifetime, so I know a thing or two about good pedicure spots now! This place was great. It's bright, clean, and inviting. The prices aren't too bad, and the employees certainly don't make you feel awkward either. They are actually much more polite and friendly compared to other places I've been to. They give you a bottle of water while you're getting your pedicure. I'm always thirsty in this dry climate of ours, so I thought that was a nice touch. I don't normally do pedicures unless a friend suggests it, so if it comes up anytime in the near future, I would suggest this place for sure! read more

First visit and I'll be back. I'm getting a little tired of Paris Nails--it just isn't *that* clean and I despite an otherwise great manicure I always leave looking like I polished them myself. I was able to get in to 5280 this afternoon without a wait. I was a little concerned with how fast the manicure was (I was in and out in maybe 40 minutes, tops) but I keep finding myself putting off getting manis lately because they take so long so maybe that's okay. Polish job is great, dried nicely, and I even did a Target run and put stuff away at home right after and not a single smudge, chip, or ding. read more

I gave this review some thought but 2-3 stars is about pushing it. After doing some searching I decided to give this place a try as I was needing basically a polish for my natural nails and maybe a pedi (I skipped the pedi). I have been doing my nails for a while now at home even though I am no stranger to nail salons, had been using them for many years. Anyways, since my natural nails were in a better state I decided to paint them and see how they held up. I got as far as filing, and applying a clear base when I figured I would go get them professionally painted being a little lazy. I will admit this place initially had good customer service, prompt phone attention, call backs, etc. I was able to easily reschedule my same day appointment for a different time at the last minute and their location is easy to find even through the area construction. I arrived and with current covid conditions had the pre-appt mill temp taking, hand sanitizer use, etc which they seem to be following well. The salon was nice and pretty clean. I multiple times clarified to the gent taking my appt, as well as upon arrival to him and the gal who wound up doing my nails that I only had a clear base but needed the rest basically. I decided to do a french manicure, why not, and basic 101, a french is pink and white; always has been, always will be. The gal painted my white tips, which looked very nice, and as I was awaiting a pink top coat or something of that nature I was dismayed to see her throw on a clear top coat and look at me signifying she was done. Clearly I thought this was a joke... This A. Is not a french, B. you didn't bother to clean up the edges of my nails which still had paint around them which I had to clean myself when I got home and then she walks me to the dryer to sit for ten minutes. I'm still in a little shock when she leaves a bill, charging me extra for the french that never was completed 100% nor told me of any price difference and mind you I looked up their prices myself before coming in as a first time customer. Another salon employee comes over and turns on the AC behind me full bore, blowing the bill across the salon and nope, they left it for me to scrape up with my barely dry, half done manicure. I go to pay now really annoyed and just wanting to get the heck out of there, I then mention the 20% yelp coupon for first time guests which clearly got me a under mask sigh. So basically they are only friendly when you come in and they get what they want otherwise forget your customer service and oh yea, if you want something done right, do it at home yourself for free! I considered giving them an opportunity to redeem themselves but honestly I think it's best I seek out another salon. Could be worse, could be way better! read more

I have had a really hard time finding a affordable nail place that does a good job. These guys are a little in the mid range as far as price, but worth every penny! The staff are friendly, the place is CLEAN, and my gel manicure lasted over two weeks, so so so much better than a lot of the cheaper options in the area. They are not close to my house, but close to work, so I will come back. They also offer a lunch card option for frequent customers! read more

After having my first gel manicure on vacation, I was excited to keep it up. I called ahead for a manicure. When I arrived they tried to seat me for a pedicure, which I never asked about. That's not a big deal, but a little weird. I sat down with my tech and she began pulling my old polish off immediately with her fingers. I could see the top layers of my nails coming off and panicked. She insisted it was fine, but finally stopped seeing my concern and soaked my nails before finishing. She buffed them down so they looked better, but I wasn't convinced they were just fine as she insisted. A few weeks later when the polish she put on was removed (properly), it was very clear my nails were badly damaged. A month later I still have to keep them extremely short as they are so thin and flaking. My nails were in excellent condition (I hadn't had polish on them in years), and now they're a mess. I would not recommend going through this experience to anyone else. read more

The nail techs here are polite and can handle intricate designs. That being said, a $65 dollar rebase that chipped in 3 days is janky. And then trying to get it fixed with the straight up d!$@ who works at the front desk was a nightmare. 5280 has clearly forgotten theyre in the service industry and as we all know the customer isn't always right, however, they should remember to take some pride in their work and fix a mistake without it being a hassle for everyone involved. I'll be taking my money elsewhere and I recommend doing the same. read more

I've enjoyed every visit I've had at 5280 Nails & Spa. I've received a variety of treatments, gel manicure, SNS manicure, standard pedicure, callus removal and varying other style pedicures. I've recently had Timmy for my SNS manicures and he's fantastic. The only reason I've ever had to go back in and have them re-done sooner than I would have liked is because my nails have been growing quickly (vitamins do work!). They have a great color selection in all styles of polish, and everyone has always been very friendly. Always look forward to a relaxing experience here. read more
