Great beers. Food is also very good, but for a dinner for two, appetizer and two beers was $60. So kinda on the pricy side, especially for Washougal area. Location is out of the way which is nice, but when using the game room we were asked to leave for a larger group, so that kinda sucked. Cool brewery with a rustic vibe inside which is well done. Great beers which have won multiple awards. They do have food, but is slightly limited because of space. It was actually great because we had some beers and a really good pretzels with beer cheese which was just perfect. They have an outside area which is nice on days when it's not raining. It's close to the river but there's no view and the location is a little out of the way. We thought we were actually lost on our way there so if you feel that way it's OK there's a sign when you get close to reassure you you're almost there. It's worth it when you get there. There's a separate area with some games- darts, etc and a big TV too. read more

They had some really good beers, good food, and a cool place. The staff seemed worn out early on a Saturday night, and distant to inbound patrons, which I thought was a little odd but it was a super hot day so maybe that was taking its toll. Follow your Nav there It will seem like you are going the wrong place or are driving through an old set from the walking dead but its worth it once you get there. Had a really great Reuben Sandwich and tasters of all 8 beers that they had on tap with my favorites being surprisingly off my normal preferences 'Brass Monkey' I am talking about you. First visit. I like the location. Way out of the way means I'm not paying the restaurant's rent, and it also makes sense for a brewery. So excited to have this place in our community. Although it has been around for a while I was late to the party and only recently feel in love with the location. Tonight I tried their veggie burger and just whammy!!!! I have been sticking to the salads because I eat most plant based but decided to branch out and try the veggie burger. It did not disappoint. They've got some of the warehouse feel to their place, but with plenty of wood (a new trend in brew-pub decor?) and assorted structural oddities which serve to make the place inviting. The beer was about average and the food well above average. The service was prompt but a bit ... hmmm ...bland? Seems like a place where you could enjoy a ballgame on an East-Wind night. There's some outdoor seating too, and while the industrial park area where the place is located won't put you in mind of the views up at Walking Man in White Salmon, the indoor oddness kinda makes up for that. Boxes of Trivial Pursuit cards (genus IV, nice and dumbed down) help the beer slide down. read more

The food is "ok", but the service from the arrogant "beer nerds" has become even worse than before.. almost deplorable. Asked if I could get my food and was told I'd have to wait in line of people wanting to order food. Your beer is our favorite! However he experience of visiting and the food has changed and gone downhill exponentially. Ordered a a pretzel ( or favorite) and the sauce was tastless. So excited to have another brewery in town! Came to the grand opening- love, love, love the tasting room with the big open feel and lodge look. The big windows looking right into the brewery were great! Sat with strangers at one of the many large wood tables and made some new friends. Tried the Cider Riot and a fresh hop beer- very tasty! Don't mind they don't have food if they let us bring some in :-) It was pretty loud in there ....but a few more Pendleton blankets or some quilts hanging in the tasting room would solve that. Cucumber-Honey Dew Bright Ale!!!!!!! Probably the best beer I have ever had. 54/40 sampled this beer at he Portland Fruit Beer Festival and was an instant hit for myself and my entire group. It is a light bodied beer with a slight hint of cucumber and honey dew melon, completely phenomenal. We met Jeremy who invented this crazy good beer who was nothing but kind and very gracious with his time. If you hit this brewery you MUST sample this beer!!!!! read more

This awesome tucked away brewery has become our favorite spot by far! They have a great array of beers, not to mention their own Kölsch that recently won an award. I love going there with family and friends to grab some beers and dinner. Their menu is outstanding including the Mad Hatter sandwich which is a must-try for all! Not only do they have a kids menu for the little ones, but they also have a play area and a pinball machine to entertain them. This means mommy and daddy can relax with other mommies and daddies while their kids play and steal a few of their food. The staff is also very friendly and the service is fast. I love how spacious the venue is and the seating area outside is great for those with dogs. It really has an authentic local-feel brewery and I can't recommend them enough. read more

I really liked our experience here at their Grand Opening. Tried three of their beers and enjoyed each one. Was also given a brewery tour. Tasting Room area was very nice. Lots of old wood, galvanized metal, stone fireplace, wagon wheel-looking light fixtures. They don't serve any food, their focus is beer. There is a food truck right outside their front door, and people were bringing it inside. Not sure if you can bring in food from anywhere. This place is worth the drive! Their beers are always solid, and they've made their warehouse a really fun, comfortable place to hang out. The food selection is limited since it's from a cart, but everything they make is really good - burgers and veggie burgers, homemade fried chicken, salads. I've been here a few dozen times. After every visit I leave happier than when I arrived. One of my favorites. read more

We finally got to try out this local brew pub for tasting and lunch. These guys have there act together. Industrial parks are not my first choice for a brew pub but 54-40 Brewing has done a great job converting a warehouse space into an inviting environment. I particularly liked the Schwarzbier but all the beers we sampled were decent. They kept the menu fairly simple, a good thing for a brew pub, with vegetarian and gluten free options. My Philly cheesesteak was delicious with a little heat from poblano and red peppers. The side of Garfunkel fries was generous but I especially liked the pickled zucchini garnish. My wife's veggie burger was a portobello mushroom with a fresh salad. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

What a nice surprise. On our trip from the gorge we were looking for a place to grab a quick bite. It is nestled in an industrial area but was a great place to refuel in our way to Vancouver and then onto SeaTac.
