To be honest, I would not have expected to find such a delightful distillery in a very plain box like building in the middle of Brainerd. But oh what a great spot to stop with friends. Like wineries in the Midwest, I'm also very cautious about distilleries. Just because you can make Jenn or bourbon doesn't mean that you should. Not the case for this place. Let me say that this place has only gotten better as it has aged. This is perhaps my favorite place in the Brainerd Lakes Area. I recently had a really nice Boulevardier. They have increased their wine products and gotten more creative with their menu, AND they are great at making up new drinks not on the menu. What has not changed is Bill and the great staff's excitement for their product and service. You need to go here. read more

Been here twice on trips through Brainerd; good job distillery passport! Most of what they do is basic clear liquor infusions, plus a decent flavored bourbon. My personal favorite is the Cowboy Coffee, which is basically a coffee old fashioned in a bottle, perfect for taking camping. Cocktails aren't amazingly creative, mostly spins on the major classics, but they're well executed. I think your best bet is the old fashioned section, although my kids have always liked their mocktails and that gives me a reason to stop. The Cocktail room is basic, classic modern loft design, but a great vibe and they even have a bowl of free Dot's to keep you level! So this would be five stars but for one thing: as of this month, they went 21+ only. Bro. Some of us like to teach our teens to sit quietly, read a book or play a game, and appreciate something to sip. I get the desire to curate the atmosphere, but you could easily be "21+ after 6pm" or similar. I am an adult, I appreciate adult vibe, but I do also like to occupy third places with my quiet kids, and you made money from that. read more

So, here's the deal. I went to this place two days in a row. On Monday I needed to sit and have a drink after work and hash out some hockey manager things with someone. It was a great experience. Awesome customer service. Nice place to get work done and chat. Loved it. I noticed a table of women with not one, but TWO babies. One was in a car seat carrier and the other was in a high chair. I thought that was odd concerning the signage everywhere clearly stating no children in the facility. However, it didn't bother me. The following day I wanted to unwind and have a drink with my husband while our son was at hockey. He had our 4 month old with him, asleep, and I said, "no big deal, there were two babies yesterday!" He came in without me and sat down and was approached by staff immediately asking him to leave. I get it! Rules are rules. However I wouldn't have done this had I not seen what I did the night before. So that just bummed me out and put a bad taste in my mouth. Our baby wasn't making noise. He was asleep. A table full of women can bring two in, but a man can't come in with one asleep. Disappointed with lack of consistency. read more

I got the Raspberry Beret and it was SO GOOD! My husband got the bourbon maple old fashioned. We both loved our drinks. We snacked on some of the free bar snack mix and sat outside on the patio. I will definitely visit again. We got a bottle of amaretto for home and we love it! read more

Cannot miss this place! Great cocktails. Amaretto is outstanding. We found this place after a mosquito infested hike, and it was the perfect place to make better memories. We left with 2 bottles- one maple bourbon and one of the outstanding amaretto. Amaretto sour is amazing. Maple bourbon old fashioned also amazing. Lemon crema is amazing as well! First timer, when we arrived it was a interesting front. Not much signage. Their is a couple of open signs. Very friendly setting and bartenders. They are helpful and a accommodating. Offering suggestions and small chat. Welcoming you to the establishment. They make their own whiskeys. I had a long island ice tea. It was yummy. My wife had a yummy drink as well. No food.
