I've been going since i was in middle school. Everyone is amazing, the people i go to most are Peter, Annie, Miley, Tony and Kevin. I always get acrylics with gel polish! Although, sometimes i do dip powder. Everyone's always so friendly and gentle and accommodating. I am all about nail design & little pieces of artwork on my nails. It's hard to find talented nail artists that can free hand paint so tiny! Tony is so talented. He always makes my nails look so cute and unique. I show him the design I want... no problem! He paints it for me! I also love that this nail salon is not crazy expensive, it's very accessibly priced. Katie at the front desk is very friendly and so very cute. I love talking to her when she answers the phone when I make appointments. Today I went in to the salon to just fix 2 nails, that's it. Katie fixes it herself and she didn't even charge me. I usually love coming to 5th ave. However, lately the last few times I have been the nail techs seem like they're in a rush. Today I asked for a French manicure, I had to ask them to re shape my nails 3 times because they were uneven. And they had to re paint the French because it was uneven as well. I don't usually like to complain because I understand they're busy however I've been going to them for years and expect more. The work lately has been mediocre and unsanitary. I'm probably going to have to look for a different nail salon unfortunately. read more

I saw the manager and another employee completely berate and yell at a young girl to point where she was in tears. i watched this male nail tech run up and down the store screaming at this girl in a different language, pointing, and threw his towel on the ground, like a toddler. it was absolutely mortifying. the female manager was completely unprofessional as well, yelling at the girl while she was crying, then laughing at her. Two adult employees yelling, laughing, and bullying a crying teenage girl. All over some sort of miscommunication. I will NEVER come back to this salon!!! NEVER GO TO PETER I was in utter shock from how I was treated there the other day. I have been a regular customer for over a year now and I have never been so disrespected, especially by Peter who I have been going to for months. I don't know if the man just hates being told that someone doesn't like his work or if he was just having a bad day but that is still not an excuse for how I was spoken to as a regular customer. I have never complain to him, I have always recommended him to many of my friends and family. While he was in the middle of doing my set (which was going to be around $80) nothing was even fully dry and I told him that I wasn't happy with how it was coming out and the next thing I know he puts all of his stuff away and he says and I quote. " you're not worth my time or money get out" I think it is absolutely disgusting how I was spoken to especially when half the time I'm there I'm on his time and I'm sitting around for almost a half hour before he even decides to start my nails. Came here for the first time today for a gel pedicure. I like to get everything when I get a pedicure and don't mind spending the extra $ for the parafin wax and hot stone massage. The pedicure experience itself was great, however, I ordered the $65 volcano pedicure and added the $10 paraffin treatment bringing it to $75. I also got gel. Which is apparently $16. Paid $91 for the pedicure and left a $20 tip because Danny took his time with a great massage. I didn't have any polish in my feet to begin with. I'm not writing this because I felt it was unfair, however when I got home and saw the paint I noticed it was the WRONG COLOR. I just called to see about getting a color switch, while I'm not upset that people make mistakes, they tried to tell me it's going to be an additional $10 to correct it. I also happen to live half hour away and frankly just don't have the time to waste for sh**ty customer service. The nail tech was great, minus the color error. The girl on the phone, not so much. They looked busy for the most part, but it wasn't my mistake to begin with. She asked me to come in to see if he actually made a mistake on the color as if to say I was lying. I asked for a nice dark olive green, the number was M-52 or M-58 something along those lines. What I got was grey. It's unfortunate because I really wanted to be a return customer. I hate that it's so hard to find a decent place for a pedicure these days without feeling like you're being squeezed for money. Just be weary. read more

I absolutely love 5th Avenue nails , I'm actually here right now for a pedicure, my usual to go to girl for my Nexgen manicure is Hana , she can draw on your nails any design you want she is so talented and my manicure is always beautiful. And for my pedicures I prefer Helen , she is so sweet and she is gentle on my diabetic feet she is careful not to be rough and my last pedicure lasted 3 weeks so thank you Helen . I love this salon. I've visited 3x. The first time I was nervous because of the reviews, but my niece recommended them so I tried it out. There were a few cringe worthy moments of interaction with the front desk but the finished product was good. I returned a second time because they can handle volume and you don't need an appointment. This visit was solid, loved my tech. Nails lasted a month. I return for my third visit today. Pedicure wasn't super pleasant, water was lukewarm at best, massage wasn't great. Now, we get to the dip manicure. I show him my inspo pic and we move on, he doesn't use the typical method of dip I'm used to, but I keep my mouth shut. It looks nice, I go to pay and the manager rings me up for $30 more than I'm expecting. I find out that because it's an ombré it's more, to which I'm surprised because had I known I would have adjusted my plan. Basically as I ask more questions about the misunderstanding on pricing the solution that's offered is they will remove what I have and re-do them rather than adjust pricing. I'd already spent quite a bit of time there so that wasn't an option. The manager and nail tech were rather argumentative and people were staring, it was embarrassing and insulting. I'd seen this before on my second visit when a woman was unhappy with her nails, I had overlooked it. Essentially shop at your own risk. Their work is beautiful, but customer service is poor. I dropped my daughter off at the salon. She was expecting to pay $45 but it was $75 and she was not informed that what she requested cost extra. The price list doesn't clearly specify what exact costs are. After I picked up my daughter, I left her in the car while I returned to the salon to speak to someone about the cost. The nail technician did not speak English but I was informed that my daughter was told the price. However, she was not informed of the price increase for the picture she showed to the nail technician. The lady I spoke to at the desk was not accommodating. I spent $70 on an acrylic full set and asked for almond shape. The man doing my nails was rude and clearly did not want to be there. He kept yanking my arm to move it to the position he wanted instead of moving it nicely or asking. When drilling my nails down to apply the acrylic, it frayed my skin at the cuticle and instead of cutting it he covered it with acrylic. It is not almond shape and is very chunky and all crooked. I was u happy and walked back in 2 minutes later and explained my thoughts at the desk. They said they could fix it for me but they sat me down next to the original nail tech and just filed my nails even though I said I didn't want to make a scene. I asked if they could take the chrome off and he refused because he liked it. I was still unhappy with this whole process and gave them a call when I got home. I asked for a new set and they said no, then I asked for a refund and they said no. At this point i am gonna go in to get them taken off. I was very disappointed since these nails were for my graduation. All around I do not recommend coming here they are rude and clearly do not believe the customer is always right. I have been a customer of 5th ave nails (acrylic) for about 8 months now (every two weeks or so). Towards the beginning my nails would pop off just after a week, but I like their work so I kept going back. I finally found a nail tech that I liked, but she moved away, so I moved to another nail tech a week ago. 5 days to be exact. I came back yesterday (day after Christmas) to get them fixed Bc they look like u have had them on for 3 weeks already. When I sat down to get them fixed they said, "you will have to pay for a fill". Yet, is was their mistake/problem. I have referred 6 other regular clients to them and this is how I am respected. I DO NOT recommend coming to this salon. read more

I found this place on instagram, it seemed like a good salon if you want nail art. I only went because I needed to get my nails done for an important meeting coming up & my lady wasn't available in time. I asked for a clear tan nude, nexgen. Simple enough? No. I got a clear pink nude. The guy who did my nails did not pay attention to detail. My nails were uneven, some nails longer than others. At the end he tried putting gel on top of the nexgen dip. When I told him no, he got confused. He didn't know what to do for the final coat. Him and the nail tech we're talking about how to finish the top coat in their native language like I was too naive too notice? I don't know what top coat he used but it was not for nexgen, probably for gel nails. I did watch him mix some chemicals on my nails & they took forever to dry. My nails look like trash. He customer service sucked. He didn't even put cuticle oil on my nails after. I ended up filing my nails when I got home because the nail tech couldn't do it when I gave him direction telling him my nails are crooked. I highly do not recommend this nail salon. They have some good artists but completely make up their pricing. when you call their dip is $40 but when you are in person they charge $45. This is also the only place I've ever been where their dip will chip and break off. The salon used to be worth it, but since they've raise their prices, it's just not acceptable.
