After my first visit, I've been back so many times for poetry reading, intimate concerts, women's circle, markets and shopping. This place makes so exited every single time. I want to tell the world all about it. AMBIANCE: The shop has exposed brick walls, gorgeous wall shelves with treasures, vintage furniture, and two rooms of home decor. The space is so perfectly staged that you can walk in, feel at home, and envision how the pieces would fit into your own home. The atmosphere is always peaceful, time just stands still here. INVENTORY: There's so much treasure here - furniture (mostly couches), comfy blankets, home decor, books, palo santo, cards, candles, and accessories. The pieces seem expertly selected and are in great condition. During my many visits I found all kinds of gems - earrings, palo santo, and more. Prices are somewhere in the middle between thrift and vintage. You can always find budget-friendly items. Shopping is available in person, online, and on Etsy. SERVICE: Service here is like hugging your hands around a hot cup of tea. Very warm and friendly. One of the owners Chelsea always remembers you, and strikes up a conversation. I always feel so welcome in this space and greatly appreciate the hospitality. EVENTS: The store hosts book clubs with Novel Enrichment generally reading very moody and refined literature. The only entrance is through La Mocha Essentially, the two are sister businesses. I never heard about Uptown Vintage, but I never say no to vintage adventure. And so, I checked it out. INVENTORY: One small storefront filled with predominantly household goods and furniture. The inventory is probably 1960's to current time. There are a few clothing items - men's jerseys and baseball hats (like Hooters hat). The space is filled with textures like wicker, knits, and ceramics. There are a few unique pieces like African sculptures and few gorgeous vases. Other than that, I found the inventory to be pretty overplayed. The prices were considerably higher compared to other shops in Lakewood and Cleveland. For instance, wicker fish was $60, and emerald velvet bench was $300. The store accepts Afterpay unlike other similar businesses. SERVICE: The service was okay, pretty transactional. I appreciated that help was offered with shopping. PARKING: There is no dedicated parking lot but street and meter parking is aplenty in this part of Lakewood. Stop in if you're in the mood to check out vintage with coffee in hand. During my first visit, the shop had a sale that extended to the sidewalk. I stopped in after hearing about this shop's sidewalk sale on IG. Layout: The first floor of the shop is mostly dedicated to men's and women's clothing and home decor (lamps, statues, and furnishings). The basement includes nostalgic items (such as trolls and Disney memorabilia), furniture, and clothes. Be sure to pause on the stairs leading to the basement to take mirror selfies and to shop for funky mirrors. The store is really an eclectic mix of unique pieces (such as African wood carvings), vintage accent pieces (such as funky yellow faux leather chair), and modern clothing (such as dresses from Ross). It's like a flea market meets discount store. Prices: Prices are absolutely all over the place from $20 for a wicker basket to $595 for a vintage chair. Most prices didn't make sense to me in terms of condition and price. Almost all items are clearly marked with the price. I didn't make any purchases after browsing the store for a while since everything seemed pricey or not necessarily matching my style/too outdated. I didn't see any deeply discounted items during the sale. Customer Service: Customer service was pretty friendly and employees social. The guy at the counter was super friendly, and just reeked Cool. He loves the rescue cat that roams the stores. He even has a coin box and poster explaining a cat rescue group. I like that compassion. The shop is cool with album covers on the floor. That is an art piece in itself. Today is my birthday, and my son is buying. First on the list is Jefferson Starship's Red Octopus. Other shops have told us the album is hard to find, sells fast, expensive. We found it!!!! The price was very good!!! I'm ecstatic! Also got The Doors, Three Dog Night, and Gordon Lightfoot. I've heard about Robin Trower, so I got one of his albums. They have a listening turntable with headphones that I used. He smiled and we laughed at some of the goofiness I entered the store with. I think I had two LP boxes, and Noah came to aid. Pete the owner came out at some point and amidst all the small talk, you could tell these folks are what small independent places need. They went through my stuff and we'd have some small chats todo about nothing really. I can babble when I sense friendliness. Save in point if you're reading the review. You could see the regulars that come by, other folks... and just a genuine cool place with a cool owner and co-worker. They could teach a graduate school class on customer service. We need that lately it seems! On a scale of 1-5 they should get a 10 for just being human and humane.
