Longing for surf and sand, we scheduled a long weekend in Port Aransas and found a fantastic house within 5 minutes of the beach. "Villa 4 Rita" is dog friendly and can sleep a total of eight. The setup includes two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with twin beds. An open loft sleeps 4 but it has a low ceiling and the stairs are treacherous. Melissa made our trip fantastic. We got her take on restaurants and took her up on a few of her suggestions. Check in and check out were as easy as the beach breeze.

Not only is there website the most friendly, so are their prices. They never charge hidden fees and they carry mostly mid-range properties. They provide two tabs for dishwasher, a small dish soap, at least two toilet paper rolls, a trash bag, and all of the linens (towels, too). You bring additional of the other if needed - but this is a small price to pay for NO FEES. Getting your key is as easy as stopping by their office (located near the ferry landing). If you arrive after 4pm, there's a drop box and you can pay on your way out. You must put down 1 night deposit (you can use credit card online) and pay full amount when you arrive, but they only accept checks, money orders and cashiers checks up to 2 weeks prior to your stay. Upon arrival you can pay with credit card (although it's very courteous to pay with debit) or cashier's check. We once had several houses booked for a large party so I made sure to bring a cashier's check to avoid the fees. There are very few properties I've not completely loved in the last 5 years of booking with them. If you want an honest opinion about a property - hit me up and I will let you know. TIP: Hang on to your keys - only fees are for lost keys!

The agent has multiple properties, but our condo was at Maravilla. This condo complex boasts the largest swimming pool in Galveston. It has an island in the middle of the pool that our children, 12, 10, 8, and 5 thoroughly enjoyed. It also has a heated pool for those colder fall evenings. The other residents were accommodating and helpful, even letting us join in a family barbecue. The room was clean and decorated. AC worked great, cable TV worked great. Plenty of sleeping room for my entire crew, including bunk beds and two large bedrooms. The master and the family room opened up to the spacious balcony which overlooked the Gulf of Mexico. Gorgeous! Pets are welcome, even though we didn't bring our lab. There is one thing that I can assure you. We won't be going back to Galveston, unless we are staying at a property managed by My Galveston Getaway.

We couldn't even stay there for more than 13 hours due to the amount of mold. We got in late so we had no choice but to stay until the morning, everyone woke up sick. When we asked for a refund airbnb will not directly credit the funds they are making us choose a host payout method that will force us to fill out tax papers and takes 1.5% of the funds. The host is only offering a partial credit because she has determined the condo was clean. Appalled and disgusted that they will take advantage of families and put them in potential health risks. I have pictures and proof of all the mold, the toilet not working, the dishes caked on with food, the sliding glass door had no handles and what was there was broken off. Everything was covered in dust and overall grimmy. Cathie has stated that it is professionally cleaned and that she also has allergies so to her it was fine. I do not believe cathie has been in this property in months. It did not look anything like the photos. The condo needs to be reported to the health dept due to the amount of mold.

At the gate, I was carrying a CPAP machine (which is a medical device), a carry-on bag, and a very small fanny pack that was approximately 3 x 4 inches. The gate agent rushed me and told me I needed to condense everything immediately. She showed no concern that one of the items I was carrying was a CPAP machine, which is considered a medical device and is generally not counted as a standard carry-on. I was also carrying it for my father, who has severe arthritis and has difficulty carrying his own belongings. While I was being rushed, I told my mother, "How irritating." I was expressing my frustration to my mom--I was not speaking to or directing the comment at the gate agent. Despite that, after I boarded the plane, the gate agent stopped my mother and told her they would remove me from the flight simply because I had said, "How irritating." Which seems kind of taking your rights away. Does southwest not believe in freedom of speech?? Do I have to be careful what I tell my mother or I'm going to get thrown out ?? The interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and unprofessional . Whether this was due to poor training, a power trip, or something else , no passenger should be treated this way, especially when traveling with medical equipment. Southwest, please do better. Train your employees on the policies regarding medical devices such as CPAP machines, and remind them that passengers deserve to be treated with professionalism and respect, even during stressful boarding situations.

Beach Bunny - Thanksgiving 2013 - 1 week stay, family of 4, from Austin, TX…read more We've stayed here before, and knew essentially what to expect: CLOSEST house to the water! So, it's not the fanciest of accommodations: it's a no-frills beach house in Surfside (which is not a "luxury" area). If you know Surfside, then you know the area. If you are expecting luxury, pick a different beach. Beach Bunny: yeehaw, some nice improvements since our last stay! The kitchen is SO much nicer after renovations - it's usable! Great fridge, oven, & microwave. Coffee pot: annoying break in the pour spout made for dribbled messes. Other than that, kitchen is totally in working order, and well-equipped with the essentials. They have added a kitchen table, which is nice BC we brought our kids this trip (previously, there was only a bar). Living room: yea to the nice futon-couches! If you've seen pics of wicker furniture, be happy that they've been replaced! Nice coffee & end tables. TV in good working order with Satellite. Bedrooms: where you sleep & keep your clothes. Absolutely nothing fancy, but the beds are comfortable & the dressers/wardrobes were plenty for our week's stay. I call it a bonus that there's a TV with Satellite in the master bedroom. Bathroom: all in working order (although a big "#2" might need some help! LOL! Plunger provided, but wasn't needed). Nice amount of space for toiletries. Cleanliness: I, saw 1 roach (not a"billion," as I read). Have no complaints. I didn't inspect deeply: this is Surfside! I washed what I thought should be washed, trusted what I thought could be trusted. Didn't take notice to any cobwebs, or notice anything gross (per other reviews). Porch/deck: AWESOME! I really miss the porch swing! Be sure to bring chairs: the built-in bench faces the house, not the water. Nice picnic table! Be aware of the entry rug: it WILL be wet (seaspray), but nice to wipe off feet! (Tip: bring a wash-tub & keep a towel handy to lessen the sand coming into the house!) The portion that wraps around was a welcome respite from the biting cold wind! Our bag of linens was there as promised: I chuckle that it's all just left together in the bag (sheets, pillow cases, towels, etc), but no matter! Our challenge: it was frigid the first 2 days of our stay. I had verified there was heat (via window units), however, none of them worked (to provide heat). Thankfully, there were 2 space heaters, but needed a 3rd for each of the living areas. Since we arrived late, we were given extra blankets (to make it thru the 1st night), and a nice custodian arrived the next day with another space heater. (also used the oven to heat up the place "ghetto-style" for 1st night - thanks for the tip! Odd to me, but functional!) Water: do NOT drink, threatened illness/death! Ok, it's brown & foul-smelling; wash clothes at your own risk (it's a nice thought to provide washer & dryer, and they are nice units!). The water: not the fault of the Beach Bunny, & we were well aware of this before we arrived (but signing the part about "possible death" for drinking the water is daunting)! Kinda funny: my biggest disappointment = no one informed us we couldn't park on the beach! Last time here, we parked right next to the steps leading up to the house. Apparently, the beach was washed away - 50% gone from our last stay, and no driving on the beach this time. That means: you park "far away" and must hoof-it over the boardwalk to the house...makes for an exhausting unloading & loading! But, this is Mother Nature, not Beach Bunny/Beach House Associates. Kinda cool to have to trek over the boardwalk to your house, vs. trekking over the boardwalk to get to the beach! Though some may not find this desirable (but as a mom, I did!): this house is"kid-central!" The location is PERFECT for kids to gather, as the main boardwalk leads from a houses farther back, so there are quite a few passers-by next to the house. I'm all about welcoming kids to play, so the Beach Bunny became "the place" for gathering (this was all my encouragement, BTW!). If privacy is important: just don't invite anyone up! (last stay here was our anniversary, so no kids, & we had no problems!). What else? This is by far the BEST beach house on Surfside to be in! From the proximity of the beach, to the cozy but simpleton accommodations, if you want to be close to the water: this place rocks! Hope ya'll have a great stay at the Beach Bunny, we sure did!!!

Our unit had a queen bed and a pull out couch and kitchen. Our inlaws were in the unit behind us and lets the kids stay in their extra room... which allowed for a romantic weekend alone. Restaruants, fishing and parks are all in walking distance. Hands down one of the best vacations I had. I want to share our experience with Pelican Pointe as well as Sand and Sea rental management…read morecompany for the weekend of 2/19 to 2/22/2026. Pelican Pointe is tired and needs resuscitating. As you arrive you notice rusted screws, nails and bolts that are staining the exterior surface. This makes one wonder about the integrity of the structure. The living room chairs and rugs are stained and dull. The laminate floor is cracked near the dining table and an edge is sticking up. The windows have water and weather streaks. The skillets are terrible as food sticks to them and they are difficult to clean. The saucepans are nice. The dishwasher has parts falling out from under the machine. The primary suite toilet paper holder was loose and wiggly. The bar b que pit has seen better days. I would think Sand and Sea would insist the house be in better condition for guests but this lack of desire for a sterling experience spills over into their lack of guest amenities. I have stayed in many airbnbs, vrbos, and realty managed properties across the U.S. This is one of the worst. It is poorly cleaned. The refrigerator smelled like fish. Food crumbs and particles were found in the utensil drawers. Cobwebs were observed under the kitchen counter. It is not adequately stocked with basic necessities. Sand and Sea provided a welcome pack of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bar of hand soap and a make up remover pad. They do NOT provide bath soap nor gel. While my husband was showering with the bar of soap, I was washing my face with shampoo. More alarming is the lack of anti bacterial soap in the kitchen. If one is to wash their hands before handling food, they will wash their hands with the soap they just used in the shower and cleaned their genitals with. Being a medical professional, this is not hygienic. I asked for anti bacterial soap and bath gel during our stay but was told they were not provided. Yes, the home does have a coffee machine but bring your own K cups, sugar and crème. These are not provided. Also bring salt and pepper. These are not provided. Bring your own insect repellant as mosquitos swarm the area. Guests are expected to take out the trash upon leaving but none of the bathroom trashcans had trash liners so the guest has to take the kitchen trash bag from under the sink and go to each bathroom trash can and empty into the larger trash bag. We stayed for 2 nights and were provided 1 towel each. Again, being a medical professional, a fresh towel after each shower is needed. Yes, I could have gone to another bathroom's towel supply but if all capacity guests were present, still only 1 towel for multiple nights. There were some positives about this property. The view of the water was nice. The beds were very comfortable. The downstairs lamps have touch on/off and have integrated charging stations. It was a short walk to the beach. The negatives fully outweigh the positives on this property. I will not be coming back. I will never use nor recommend Sand and Sea again.
