About a year later I ended up getting a job there. I worked at Emert for about a year. The Manager and Owner are very respectable. It's a clean and organized run scrap yard. If you check out any of their competitors in the area you will see a big difference in how things are run. Its by far the best place to go in the area. Emert usually has the best prices in the area to. Employees put allot of care into the work they do and know what they are talking about. So if they give you advice on separating or grading, I would listen to them. Saturdays are usually crazy busy so if you can I would try going go sometime during the week. Also don't forget to put a hard hat on before you go into the yard.

Their hours are great, opening up early, 7AM and Monday through Friday closing at 7PM. But please, don't pull in at 6:50 like hey I'm going to unload. Scale closes at 6:30. Now they take almost everything. If you aren't sure, give them a call. One thing I don't agree with is they don't give prices over the phone. Their prices haven't gone up since May '13 despite the economy getting better(says who). I discovered the other day a lunch truck does stop in there so if you've missed a meal and are in the yard after noon, you could get a soft pretzel and a water. So do your part and get paid for it.
