Time for the truth . The bill for clean out was more than twice the amount quoted ! They are decent for moving , but boy do they up charge for clean out ! Jim kept telling me how they have been in business for many years , they lowballed a rate for us and then charged us a humongous amount after the clean out was done ! Dumpster fee was $800 and they did not even bring the dumpster, they claimed they will be taking stuff to the dumpster! Then an unknown charge of 2x $159 for taking it to the dumpster! Moving can be emotional, they certainly know that . I was certainly in shock to see the bill ,Will not use them again and will not recommend them . There are many more truthful movers !! Broderick Moving did an amazing job moving my mother from her home to a 3rd story apt unit. They were prompt and courteous and the three men worked quickly and carefully! They wrapped furniture and glass pieces for protection. They were so accommodating when we changed our minds after they had already placed the furniture. Not a good experience at all. Damage to my home's floors, missing parts, etc. I was told they could move exercise equipment, but they really didn't have the skill to dismantle and reassemble. Found extra parts lying around afterward. To top it off, the bill as $500 more than expected. Lead person said it was because they added another mover... but nobody told me in advance or gave me an option. Mr. Broderick came out to see the floor damage, but then I never heard from them again. I am offering a two star review on a portion of their business. They were hard workers and 4 out of the 5 workers were professional. Originally the owner came out a month before our move and gave us a quote of $1600. I expressed that we were on a budget and did not want to have the coat to be any higher. He looked me in he eye and said we over estimate our prices and 9/10 we are below if not right on with our quotes. Stating we have been in business fro 30 years and we know what we are doing. I decided to go with Broderick over the companies my wife had recommended thru referrals. We are missing two boxes, one which has my sons decals for his bedroom ( he is 20 months old) so I know that he did not put them any where. I have waited for a month to write my review so we could be completely be unpacked before stating anything is missing. We had two items damaged, one is a wood chest that holds a tv and can be fixed so its really not a huge deal , the other is our artificial Christmas tree that was purchased for $600. The top of the tree was bent at a 90 degree angle. When we tried to bend it back it broke. The guys worked extremely hard and rarely took a 5 minute breather. But the brother of the owner began to get visibly upset and even rude throughout the day. He stated multiple times that he had things to do that afternoon and this job is taking too long. We I asked if he was ok he began to tel me he didn't think it would take this long and needed to pick his children up. Im sorry, but I have nothing to do with that and I did not appreciate the attitude and the visible anger that he had due to his situation. I purchased a $100 deli sandwich tray as well as running to WaWa multiple times for coffees and anything I could get to keep the guys happy. All his other workers including the owners son were a pleasure to have. We tipped each worker $50 each ( there were 5 workers) Now here is the major part for me. When the bill was handed to me it was $2300. That is $800 ( 50% ) more than they had quoted. $800 THATS A HUGE DIFFERENCE. With a 20 month old and a pregnant 8 month pregnant wife that was very stressful and an uncomfortable situation they put us in. They came out to our house and gave a quote in writing. After an hour of back and forth with the owners brother who was the upset one from the beginning, told me he would lower the price but his workers were each going to lose an hours worth of work to justify the cost. REALLY you are going to give me a quote then tall me your not going to pay your employees. I was originally going to give them a 3 star rating but as I write this review I will be giving a one star review. There are just some things you don't do. We eventually paid them $1900. $300 more than their quote ( 18.75% more). If I had known that I would have not tipped each guy, bought a deli tray or coffees. I was just trying to treat them the way I would have wanted to be treated, unfortunate that was not the case with their thought process. Its a shame because they were referred to us and as a Realtor I could have offered them more business as well. I was not looking for anything more than just what was quoted and right. read more

I would highly recommend this place to any friends who needed movers. The staff was friendly, easy to work with, fast, and professional. They were MUCH more affordable than some of the top listed movers on Yelp, including Eversafe and Skybox Movers. 3 man team worked well in tandem together, and moved us much faster than I thought possible. I hope to see these guys climb the charts on Yelp and other review spots. They deserve the business. The only knock I'd put on them was that I could not reach them on the day of the move for the morning, and some of the afternoon. I left a few messages, and then just got lucky and got my call through to their scheduler. I was a little panicked that they did not get back to me after I left a few messages. If they work on that part, I would easily give them 6 stars out of 5. My wife and I could not be happier that they moved us from our apartment to our new home. Used them over the summer. Great family ran business. I had them come over an hour to where I was living, dissemble my furniture, pack it up and move it over 60 miles away. They put my bed, couch and everything backed together. Please note this company was very inexpensive compared to other companies that were in the same town that were less than 5 minutes away. She carefully explained the cost breakdown, which turned out to be exactly accurate. These guys showed up on time, as scheduled. They were polite, caring, professional and efficient. After two previous nightmarish experiences with moving, we were really nervous about finding a reliable and competent mover when it was time to move to our new home. Broderick came very highly recommended, and I must say, rightly so. The quote provided was extremely reasonable and professional. Agree with everything CB stated. As we all know moving is a stressful process. Our entire move went extremely well. We had the move date change several times and they had no issue with it. They actually stored all of our items for free in the commercial space while we made renovations to our new home. There was no charges for them to store the items (30 days or less is free after that it is approx 150 per month which is very reasonable). 1-3 family members were involved at all times throughout our move. Jim and his team (total of three) came in Friday morning to move from a 3 bed room town home into our new single home. We hired Broderick Moving and Storage to move contents of a small apartment to another apartment in a nearby community. Three movers, Dave, Jimmy, and Rob, arrived right on time, and were friendly, courteous, and professional. They were very careful with our belongings, extremely efficient and hard working. They even fixed a dining chair for us (it had a broken seat already, nothing to do with the move - we didn't ask) - so nice! The guys worked quickly (but carefully). There is a 4 hour minimum, and our move took less than that, but the price was very fair and reasonable. I've used this company to move twice. First time was good...they took their time, packaged everything properly, etc. One year later...they broke very expensive glass artwork. Promised to come back and attemp to fix, but they never did. I have a table with a missing foot, and a chair in which they lost or broke a leg. This review is long overdue. I sold my house in 1 day and was in a panic. I called several moving and storage companies. Broderick was the only one to come out and see what had to be stored. Others just have me a price over the phone with no regard to what was being moved. The day came for moving my stuff into storage. Several people showed up. The care they took wrapping furniture, etc was a pleasant surprise. My stuff was in storage for 4 months. Was very easy to schedule delivery. Again several people. I only had to direct where everything was to go. Downsizing made this a bit of a challenge, but all the guys made it easy. And my stuff? Not a scratch, nothing broken and no bugs, dead or alive! Working on one of the hottest days of the year, the three man crew moved quickly and professionally throughout our move. We did much of the pre-moving of fully packed drawers and the fragile boxes. They confronted some really tough challenges moving larger pieces of furniture into our new home, and there wasn't a scratch to be found. If you are looking for a moving company, and want it to go smoothly and dare I say enjoyably, I highly recommend Broderick Moving. Moving is so stressful and really no fun at all but from my first conversation with Linda on the phone it was truly awesome. Jim came over to give me a quote and was super nice, professional and gave me the confidence that they would take care if everything. And they did! I did my research because I have had some horror stories in the past... Not with Broderick. We had to move the move date because it was supposed to rain all day and I preferred - if possible- not to move in in climate weather. However the Mother Nature Murphy's law gods decided for that day to be unseasonably warm and sunny and the move date... Rain, cold, sleet and snow!!! Ugh! It was horrible! But the movers... Steve, Kenny, Jesse and Matt arrived early and with a great "get it done" attitude- all day! It was messy and I had a lot of stuff. 3 more competent guys joined them - Stephen, Glenn and Jim to help because of the weather challenges. Again... Non-stop incredible work and attitude! They were also very careful with my items (antiques) and to protected my hard wood floors and rugs from the elements. I can't say enough about them and am so grateful for all they did.
