The service I got at Sullivan's Scrap Metal was not good ; it was GREAT ! It was my first time there, and an employee named Rich took me step by step through the process. He could not have been any nicer or more helpful. Keep in mind, I showed up on a scorching hot Friday about an hour before closing. Sullivans scrap metal is a high-volume metal recycling center. If you just have a little bit, don't bother. The aluminum and iron side is a drive-up place. Your truck gets weighed too, so imagine 10lb increments. The premium metal side, accepting copper & brass is better. They weigh each thing, and the service is much much better than the other side. Make sure the metal you bring is completely pure from any other metals order contaminants, like wood. Otherwise they will quickly give you the light iron price. The office personnel are not the easiest to work with; try to stay out of there. $ comes out of this ATM machine thing at the very end. read more

Horrible. Was better a couple years ago. Now from what I'm told the "rules" are adjusted quite a bit. I'm in the hvac business. So I get quite a bit of scrap. Took my dump trailer over on Saturday at around 11. My wife and I had plans around noon. Perfect empty the trailer and then go on our way..... was the thought. They fine combed the trailer and find Freon bottles WITH THE KNOCK OUT PUNCHED OUT. (If you don't understand, there's punch out tab on the bottle, before disposal you break that tab which is a sign of an empty "pierced" tank) well this guy is trying to tell me that I need to cut the tank in half. WT@!!! It's lite iron scrap metal and expects me to just cut in half?! Worth maybe a half of a penny. He makes me take them out. So now what am I supposed to do with that scrap?? Clearly they don't want it. Then got my pay slip and go to cash it. Stood there well over a half an hour with all the inconvenienced customers because why? Because both of their atm machines were down! Again WT@! How could a multi-million dollar company operate like this. Do yourself a favor and head over to a different scrap yard like myself. Don't be inconvenienced by Sullivan's. Seems like they don't want your scrap anyway. Now I again have to be inconvenienced and go out of my way to get my money another time. read more

I have to agree with other reviews. This yard is bad news. If you call before and they quote you the prices for what you have they change it once you get there. The people in the shop act as if your bothering them. I know this is typical of yards that allow walk-ins, but this isn't the city. You must use the card they give you or else they won't accept your metal even if you know your number. The only good thing is that there open till 5. read more

I can't say anything good for the office ladies. They are rude and make the impression of doing you a favor by talking to you. You will spend a while till someone asks you why you're there. I don't recommend using their service if you tend to appreciate your time and nerves. read more

I would say check around first before going to Sullivan's - there prices seem to be very low - I brought in a truckload of scrap metal, and got nothing for it really (and they do not assist you in unloading - plus they blindly drive around with their forklifts, almost hitting patrons' cars, and leave all sort of broken glass/screws around almost flatting your tires! Next time when I get a lot of stuff, go to Morrisville or Philly. read more

The prices are ok, could be better but not bad. The guy at the upper scale ( Russian guy) is a bit rude most of the time. This could be a deterrence. If that guy would be more helpful instead of barking all the time that would help. Maybe just take 30 seconds to explain things. The cash-out method is great. You don't have to deal with anyone and it's in and out. I would recommend posting the current prices so people that don't deal with this all the time understand better. I use Sullivan's all the time, pretty good place. read more

Was at their customer appreciation event today. Great people, friendly staff...great to see that s company gives back as well. They even had a raffle to benefit hurricane relief with the ASPCA. Way to go ! read more

Sullivan Scrap lost a customer!! I would give zero stars if possible. your employee at the nonferrous metals who is foreign was extremely rude, he went through my seperated e scrap, grabbed what he wanted and told me the rest was crap. The he threw it all together in a large trashcan ( it was separated in individual buckets as your other nonferrous employee trained me to do)and tried to take it from me without paying me!!! He also low balled my scrap prices which i use to feed my family. i will never come there again. wilcox and e scrap online will be my new scrappers. I know i didn't bring much but i was just starting and was testing all local scrappers, you lost big time!! I have thousands of laptops and PCs... However, your ferrous metal employee and the other nonferrous employee were great, it's a shame you changed to the other guy. CU! UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!REPLY FROM SULLIVAN AND MY ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was no problem with his accent, I work with many people from all over the world so I am very accustomed to this and am rather annoyed that this is even a concern. Also giving me .05 per pound as a consolation is absurd since it is offered to everyone who downloads your coupon online...pacification is not required since I will not be there ever again! This is an update from my previous review. I went back the next morning to empty the van. I went to large/heavy drop area with my load of light steel. This was the first time going to this section. The operator/buyer at the scale house was pleasant and helpful. After offloading and weighing out I went to the top side to offload some brass before cashing out. There were two guys in front of me there for the first time. They had everything seperated pretty well for first timers but of course not perfect. The buyer (russian guy) actually told them "we're here to make money. I cant spend time showing you what to do." Seriously, how are people supposed to learn if you dont show them. They had a whole cart full of aluminum but one of the beach chairs had a steel crossbar so he processed the entire cart as light steel instead of aluminum. I think they forget that while we are selling them our scrap, we are actually customers. They buy from us and resell for a profit. Without customers they have nothing to resell. If you took the time to explain how to use your facility and better prep our scrap things would work much smoother. Seriously make some short videos, "welcome to our yard" , "how to use our facilities" , "how to prep and seperate your scrap". They have a website and facebook page take some pride and educate/welcome your customers. Again get rid of the rewards and pay more. Get rid of the top side buyer. Get employees that care and are willing to help your customers. read more

The receptionist should in no way be in a position, where she should have to speak to costumers. If you're the owner reading this--fire her. Also, update your website and the sign on your fence to reflect the new 45-minute lunch break. I got there at 11:50 only to be told by your derelict "receptionist" (very rudely and unapologetic), that lunch break started at 11:45, and to come back at 12:30! Thanks for wasting my time! We arrived about 15 minutes before closing with a big pickup full of steel and a tub of brass and a tub of aluminum. Guy waved us onto the scale, told us where to pile the steel, and weighed us out when we finished. It was now about 5:25. He said we couldn't get the other metals weighed because they were closed. Website said 5:30, but "we close at 5:15. I did you a favor by letting you in." When I complained, he said, "just come back tomorrow." Just come back tomorrow? I had borrowed a truck and driven a half hour to get there. Very unfriendly business. read more

What a joke to see their tagline is "Service is our Specialty." I've been to the Hatboro location several times, and each time they are more rude than the last.
