Any woman who's ever gone for the Audrey Hepburn, Twiggie, or Jennifer Lawrence will understand- growing out hair is hard. It's frustrating, slow, and forces you to use copious amounts of headbands and bobbie pins to avoid the dreaded mullet. (Dun dun duuuuunnnn) After about 8 months with no cuts, I had reached that point. Shorter layers framed my face and fell in a perfect, piece-y bob, while the back portion just sat there, at best curling and blending in, at worst flipping outwards into what my fiancee lovingly called "the duck." And so, it was haircut time. This place was recommended to me by a neighbor and had great prices online, so I ventured out on a Saturday morning to see the magic they could work. First, I was greeted immediately and seated with no wait, even on a late Saturday morning. Brooks was friendly and welcoming, immediately asking for the ideas I had and explaining how that would translate in my hair. Afterwards, he got to work, keeping me updated with what tools, products, and techniques he was using and why. The cut didn't take long and the results were exactly what I wanted. The shorter layers were evenly trimmed, without losing much length at all, and "the duck" was now a thing of the past. I have been to other Fort Collins, high-end salons, which were expensive and I left with okay hair. A family friend recommended this place, and Ed, in particular. I came in, had my hair cut and colored. I left LOVING my hair! This is the first time I have absolutely loved my hair in years. Ed's prices were extremely reasonable (much lower then other salons that I've been to). He was super fast, and my hair looked great. I've received so many compliments on my hair cut/color also. I hadn't had my hair cut or colored in years because every other salon I had been to in Fort Collins was way over priced with poor results. I recently asked a friend who has beautiful hair where she got her hair done and she recommended Ed to me. I was able to quickly get an appointment with Ed. I can't stress enough how great the entire experience was. I had my hair cut and colored and Ed really listened and executed exactly what I had envisioned. My hair has never felt or looked better. I was in town this weekend visiting friends and needed a haircut. I walked into this salon as it was on our way and got a great haircut. Very experienced stylist Ed cut my hair and had me out the door. I normally go to a local shop where I live and I actually regret not living in Fort Collins as Ed is one of three individuals that have been able to cut my hair right. read more

"Do you usually lose a lot of hair?" 8 little words no girl ever wants to hear, especially coming from a stylist. This, my friends, was a serious question asked of me while getting a cut and highlights at Laurels. I swear, my hair was in worse condition when I walked out of this place than when I walked in. Lets take things chronologically, shall we? First, the partial highlight: he started foiling at about ear height and worked his way up. Getting to about the mid-point he switched to the other ear and repeated. Once he reached the top (about 40 minutes later) he checked the first-applied foils, and immediately started removing ALL of them. The foils on the top on my head, the face framing hair that you usually want the lightest, was processed for maximum 3 minutes. No exaggeration. Now the only part of my hair that actually had a chance to lighten are the under-layers. Cool. Well, that, and the striped parts elsewhere from the sloppy technique. Then he washed my hair, matted it by drying it with a towel like a dude stepping out of a shower in a deodorant commercial, and proceeded to brush FROM THE ROOT with a fine tooth-comb. Are you kidding me? I had told him many times that my fine hair was prone to breakage but he just dove in there like a 1 year old with his first birthday cake. Hair was everywhere and I was almost in tears. After switching to a different brush he started the trim, devoting fewer than 5 minutes to the task. Needless to say the lines aren't great. He blow-dried by holding the nozzle directly on the round brush until I could smell and see smoke, and topped it off by curling it via the pull-hair-through-a-straightener technique. If my hair hadn't just had the most traumatic hour of its life it probably would have been fine, but all I could hear was the pop pop pop of further breakage. To call this the worst haircut of my life would be an understatement. The only redeeming quality was that it was dirt cheap. If you value price of the cut over your hair, then this might be an option for you. But you know what they say: you get what you pay for. read more

I would highly recommend Tiara Clervi, the esthetician at this salon. She does Dermaplaning which helps the skin look and feel much younger. The more you do it, the better you will look. It is great for all ages, but I would really recommend it for those over 50 who want to look refreshed, smoother and younger. You won't be disappointed. read more

Went to see Victoria and she was awesome!! Probably the best scalp massage I've ever had and the cut looked great. Def going back!

Ed is not just a sweetheart but an excellent stylist! Great quality without being pretentious or expensive. Better than the high end salons that trap you into service that you don't need or want. Ed is definitely my new favorite stylist! read more

I went here after reading rave reviews, but they are all about Ed. Do not get Kirby, as he cannot do a women's cut worth anything. I had to cut a spot of my own hair that was an inch longer than the rest, and where I asked for layers I have a straight cut that has been impossible to style. read more
