The building is well-maintained, management is responsive, and the staff is genuinely easy to deal with, which goes a long way. If I could give this building 0 stars I would. The doormen are great but the property management office is awful and disrespectful to their residents.... We have not had consistent hot water for months , our toilet constantly does not work and we asked to be appropriately compensated , however , they won't compensate us. DONT MOVE HERE ... unless you want to take cold showers and have everything in your apartment constantly break. It's honestly awful how they treat their residents and they should be ashamed of themselves. read more

Former tenant (Sept 2023 - July 2025). Move-out was awful: damage fees with no real proof, and even an admitted rent overcharge from late 2024 was never refunded. Most concerning: for something as important as the security deposit, management claimed it was mailed, but never provided us with any tracking, check number, or notification. Staff ignore emails for weeks, make promises they don't keep, and send meaningless photos instead of proper documentation. read more

We have lived at 65 Bay Street for 3 years. When we first moved it was great but during the past year we have had a horrific experience. Starting with the constant elevator and hot water issues - we have not had consistent hot water for the last 3 months. Nearly every appliance we have in our unit has had issues. On top of this the leasing staff is unresponsive, when they do respond they are rude and dismissive. We will not be renewing our lease and would not recommend anyone to live here until they clean up their act. read more

I am living at 65 Bay now and overall it is a good one. Not too far away from the path station. The apartment is quiet most of the time as sometimes you will hear the bell of light rails. The maintenance team is responsive and very helpful. BUT, when I toured the apartment, the staff told me that the building provides Xfinity, but I could choose my internet service provider and the plan. THAT IS NOT TRUE when I sign the lease, which says I can ONLY choose the Xfinity $95 plan provided by an agency called onBoard, or I violate the contract if I don't pay it. The plan includes 800 Mbps of internet and 130 TV channels, and it is charged automatically when I pay my rent. I talked to Xfinity which confirmed that the plan only includes basic 30 TV channels. I am canceling the TV service as I DON'T need it at all, but just guess if the agency allows me to do it. read more

We pay too much to not even have hot showers. Additionally the water is turned off a few days a month to "fix" the hot water, but nothing gets fixed. Amenities are whatever, nothing is in great condition. And they'll increase your rent by 25% for no reason. Just simply not worth the price read more

I had the time of my life living here. The past 2 years flew by in the nicest building in jersey city. The amenities are unmatched by any other building on the waterfront. The elevators are the fastest in jersey city. The views are amazing. The resident culture is incredible. The staff is very responsive to your needs. It's a nice building, but they raise your rent a ton and don't upkeep the amenities as they should for the amount you pay. Pool: -The heater for the pool is broken more often than than none. -Chairs are broken and I noticed that instead of fixing or replacing them, they just removed them. Also good luck getting a chair over the weekend, you will most like be sitting on the ground. -The "good" chairs have old, uncomfortable cushions, they're toally 'lived in and flat. -There are also pool rules which they do not enforce, it's like a madhouse Gym: -Machines and around the perimiter is always dusty. So if you enjoy doing any floor work, get ready to breath in dust and hairballs. -Old gym matts There is nobody in the building to help with building things. Don't bother unless you're cool with renting for a year and then having them increase your rent by nearly 40% the next. The developer / management is the epitome of GREEDY. We have been tenants for two years and got an absurd renewal that was $1,000 more per month than our direct upstairs neighbors who received their renewal just weeks before us. $12,000 more per year to live in the same apartment (technically an "inferior" apartment as it's one floor lower)...there is no justification for that. That kind of increase is unconscionable. The leasing office will tell you whatever they have to in order to close the "deal," but renters BEWARE. Furthermore, management and the leasing team are entirely incompetent. They don't return calls or emails. Most of the equipment at the gym has been broken and sits un-repaired. The pool, which they boast as a major amenity, is open for three months out of the year and promptly closes after Labor Day, while all other pools in the area remain open (like Urby). They "sometimes" will sporadically open it on random weekends post Labor Day but there is zero consistency and for the most part it sits unaccessible for residents who pay an amenity fee to use it. Not only does this mean you can't use the pool itself, but you can't use the grills either or even just sit on one of the lounge chairs. On top of all of this, the building NICKELS AND DIMES TENANTS FOR EVERYTHING. You pay your rent and then there is an amenity fee, a sewage fee, a water fee...etc., etc. DO NOT RENT HERE. PS: plans for the second Urby building have been approved and will soon wipe out all of the views of the city...the only thing going for this building at the moment. read more

Don't be fooled! If you're looking for a building where you can enjoy a pool and barbecue grills, look at any of the other luxury buildings in the area. The pool at Trump Bay Street is only open three months of the year, and only from 10am to 8pm -- the same hours apply to the barbecue grills (and there are only two of them). The pool gates are locked before 10am and they kick everyone out of the entire pool deck at 8pm, so you can't even enjoy the morning sun. On a sunny Saturday or Sunday, the pool chairs are all taken, good luck getting one for yourself, let alone two. After around 5/6pm there is no more sun and it gets cold, especially when it's windy, which is all the time. Pool is not heated either. Only two guests per unit allowed, $10/guest, and this also applies to the barbecue area. Who has a barbecue with only two people? In short: the pool deck seems like more of a sales tool than a real amenity -- you won't be able to get much use out of it. What should be relaxing ends up being stressful. If pool and barbecue grills are important to you, look at the neighboring buildings with more relaxed rules. Also: Elevators are always having problems, and you could be waiting a long time to get an elevator, especially on Fridays and weekends. read more

Individual units are nice enough but not enough to justify the price or price increases. They nickel and dime you for everything - pet fees, water fees, amenity fees that aren't optional, fees if you want to use the common areas. Management does absolutely nothing for the community and aren't resident friendly. The door to the pool has been broke for over a year, the hot tub always looks gross, the pool chairs are all breaking, it took them over a year to replace one missing dumbbell in the gym zero upgrades to a sparse workout area. There was supposed to be a poker room that never happened, the tv room always has tvs out, there was supposed to be a dog grooming room they never got around to. Constant turnover at the front desk (although most have been great). The floors are super cheap and show ever spec of dust and footmark. The countertops cheap and to impossible to clean and the sink sprays everywhere when you turn it on. No central air, no garbage disposal, no golf simulator. The area in general is nice and quiet but no cute shops or good lunch spots or anything cultural to do, the dog runs are all horribly overcrowded and disgusting. The cvs is always 80% empty. The local gym base you can't even move because of all of the people. The shop right is the worst one in all of the US. It was good for the price but now they want almost $75,000 a year for a 2 bedroom with parking. For that price you're better off in Manhattan or Brooklyn where there's an actual scene. read more

We've lived in the building almost ever since it opened, and moved out recently only because we needed more space for our growing family. Minor complaints which didn't overshadow all the pros for us: Urby has pool deck events during the warmer months (e.g. movie nights, live performances) which run pretty late (they were blasting The Greatest Showman past until around 10PM), so it can get loud if you are on the side of the building facing the river. The parking lot in front of 65 Bay Street is used for events all the time (e.g. 4th of July, food trucks, carnivals, etc.) which brings lots of traffic and noise. Super convenient if you'd like to partake in the activities (we were able to walk to the events and watch fireworks from our living room), inconvenient if you're trying to drive home during the event. All the pros: The building is impeccably kept, the amenities are great (we've rented out the observation deck several times for events), and the management/maintenance/front desk staff are all so nice and helpful. The gentleman from the leasing office that showed us our first apartment is no longer here, but he was very kind and a pleasure to work with. Erin (our MVP) in the management office has always gone above and beyond for us - first when we wanted to move from a 1BR to a 2BR (she kept us constantly updated of all units as they became available), and again when we had to potentially extend our lease because the closing on our house had been delayed. She was so accommodating of our needs and made sure we wouldn't have to worry about being displaced between moves. Caroline and Giselle have also been so helpful and always quick to respond to our questions. Our maintenance requests are completed in a timely manner (Louis is great) and our front desk staff are always a pleasure to speak with. They've also been very patient with us despite the millions of packages we're always collecting from them/asking about. When we found our elevator (for moving out) had been hijacked, the front desk staff efficiently sorted out the issue for us. Last but not least, the location is fantastic - I commuted to midtown via ferry and got to work in 35 minutes door to door! We will definitely miss calling this place home. read more

I had the privilege to get an early tour of the Trump Bay Street condominiums, a brand new luxury rental market entrant in the bustling downtown Jersey City. Hope fellow yelpers looking for an insight into the property will find this information useful. While the new and attractive finishes are at first inviting, here are the reasons why I'd vote against renting here for anything except short term corporate rentals: 1. The three tower Urby (https://jerseydigs.com/url-harborside-at-200-greene-street/) property construction across the street implies constant dust and noise in all units until 2018. Forget the idea of ever opening those bright and sunny windows! 2. Thinking of paying a premium for a property with a view here? The tower 2 and 3 of Urby across the street will structurally block any eastern river and NYC views of the building including the highly boasted observation deck. So the premium for a unit with a view will by mid-2017 will be non-existent and worst still morph into a view of another residential building 50m apart. The building across the street is expected to rise to 63 stories blocking most eastern sunlight to both trump buildings in JC. 3. The proximity to the Light rail while a blessing for some also implies constant noise for others. In my viewing of the property, the quality of sound proofing in this sister property of the luxurious trump tower condominiums is of far poor quality. 4. The apartments do boast beautiful finishes and large bathrooms but when compared with the quality of the new 70 Columbus, The One and The Laguna; the building offers nothing new. 5. They are currently running a bait and switch operation which is shameful for an organization this size - their website hosts a range of listings that are priced attractively but after a trip to the property most renters quickly realize it's a scam. 6. While I think these towers will make a great residence for corporate tenants or commercial corporate furnished apartments, these units are practically too far away from any dining, shopping or art scene that can be found closer to grove street and Newport town center. Families and individuals who like to cook may also like to consider that there are no grocery stores super close adding to the inconvenience. Overall at this price point, my vote would be to explore new properties such as 70 Columbus and The Laguna that come with a full stash of amenities, have gorgeous views and happen to be near public transit and heart of action! read more

My experience with the crew at Bay Street have been amazing, Joe, Andy, Morgan, Jerry and Vivian. They have accommodated me to the fullest extent. So disappointed when we walked in one quiet weekend to view apartments when there was no traffic in the leasing office and Frank said there were no units to view because they were 100% occupied. Must have thought we were complete idiots because there were units for rent on their website at the time. Pretty sure if it was 100% occupied he would be sipping a cocktail - not working on a weekend. Then we emailed separately hoping to work with someone competent - Samantha emailed us but never followed up to schedule an appointment after we reached out. It's a shame because the units seem gorgeous from the photos but the people aspect of the property has left such a bad taste - can't imagine what it's like dealing with them as a resident. Needless to say if I were the head of leasing these folks would be the source of missed revenue, which is the opposite of the bottomline, isn't it? read more

I am a Chinese Student, first semester graduate.I study at downtown Mahatton, frankly speaking, Trump Bay Street is the best choice to choose in Jersey City, with its brand new decroation, kitchen(oven and Microwave are equipped), and washing machine & dryer. Doorman always help us receive packages and open door for us with smile and greeting. Poor deck is awesome, gym is very new(I like it a lot because I love fitness). Most importantly, rooftop is a good place to have free sightseeing of New York, and you can also book the party room at rooftop for personal use. I also really appreciate that leasing agent Andy and property manager Erin, I could never ever have such a wonderful experience to live in Trump Bay Street without their help. Transportation is convinient, 5 minutes walk to PATH-Exchange Place, you just need to take one stop to World Trade Center. Shoprites, JC Penny, BJ's and Newport Mall, 6 minutes walk. read more

The food is awful. The air conditioner evaporator (the part inside the apartment) has 1 inch of mold in the drain pan. Half of the equipment in the gym is broken. Definitely not worth the price. read more

Is this the best apartment community in the Newport-Grove street belt? I think so. I went across Newport and Grove street area and compared many many communities. It was a month long hunt. Condos, Lease, Low rise, High rise, Old construction and New construction. However, Trump Bay Street was the best option in my opinion. It is a new construction, hand-down the best amenities in the entire area, and the appliances and finishes in the apartment are top-notch. A excellent gym, pool, sauna, jacuzzi, movie room, kids play room, etc.There is an entire floor full of amenities (7th floor). On top of this the 52nd floor is a lounge with some of the best views of the manhattan skyline across the Hudson and the Statue. We saw the 4th of July fireworks from 52nd floor and both the Macy's fireworks and Jersey fireworks were gorgeous. The down-side is that some of our guests that went up the Empire State and TOTR were not so impressed anymore. Maintenance of the building is prompt and overall the common areas are very well managed. Management even organizes guest events at the pool or at the lounge floor. On top of all of this the staff - Erin at management, Edwin-Andy at leasing, Jason and his team at maintenance, Owen and Eleanor at the front desk, are all very helpful. read more

Nice building and staff but there are always problems with the "smart elevators". Gym is nicely equipped but not enough equipment to replace your need for a real gym. Pool is too small and too shallow. The number of lounge chairs available is seriously deficient for a building of this size. Tv sports room is really only useful for 16 sundays each year. read more

Before you consider this building, dismiss any notion of negativity or turmoil you may associate with the building's namesake. Life at 65 Bay is beautiful, quite and classy. Our one bedroom on the 48th floor has a stunning view of not only lower Manhattan, but the Statue of Liberty as well as all of New York harbor. The only downside is our guests spend their entire visit staring out the window. The building is brand new, esthetically pleaseing and practically sound proof. The roof is absolutely wold class and can be rented for private events at a very reasonable rate. The pool is lovely and never too crowded. Residents are an eclectic mix of professionals with a few famous ones sprinkled in (one of which is now a friend of mine). Maintenance always responded in less that 24 hours to resolve issues and I am genuinely going to miss greeting the lobby staff everyday. Management went above and beyond to resolve to some unexpected issues that arose and I am forever grateful to them. The location is ideal with the Ferry and Path within a stones throw and fantastic bars and restaurants in short walking distance. We are now leaving to buy our dream home, but I will always miss my time here. read more

Do not move to this building esp if you have kids. there are child safety issues and the management or corporate office does not care. this property is managed by Westminster Management and its horrible. Leasing department will advise to ignore such reviews, please do not listen to them.management at the property is very bad. they charge a high amenity fee and have even higher charges if you want to use the buildings amenities. this building is short on maintenance staff and it takes them weeks to resolve issues unless you complain. Also, the building can bring in people without any identification to your apartment if needed. please don't fall for their 1-2 month free offers, its not worth it. this building is not full, they like to pretend they are full. The management sends monthly emails annoying you to invite friends to move to the building. the only good thing about this building is their concierge staff. there many rental buildings in JC, please opt for those. read more
