Several of my friends and I have had bad experiences here. The leasing office is super nice and helpful until you sign your lease then they suddenly become unavailable/very unresponsive. The amenities are nice but you have to pay for each resident to use the gym facilities (no thanks I'd rather go to Equinox). The doormen are 50/50. Some are very helpful and nice but others give attitude even to your visiting guests. There are plenty of newer properties in the area- while the units themselves are nice, I would much rather live in a place with nicer management and "family"... especially when you call this your home. We're looking forward to our lease ending and some of our friends have already moved out (and are happier). read more

Beautiful apartments on the Upper West Side on W63rd St. between Riverside Blvd and West End Ave. The building is one of many high rises in the area (close to the Rushmore, Trump Towers, Archstone). The building is still under going some construction but is mostly open and ready for rentals. The staff are amazing, such nice guys! They are always willing to help and friendly to chat with. The 40,000 sq/ft amenity space (shared with the condo building the Aldyn) just opened this week and I have to say I was beyond impressed. It is even nicer than the Equinox I belong to in Boston (which was also brand new). The space includes a full gym with pilates/yoga studios, spinning and fitness classes, swimming pool, full basketball court, two lane bowling alley, rock climbing wall - all for only $300/apartment plus and additional $100 for other adults in the apartment for the life of you living there! Pretty great deal! I was a bit annoyed that it took 4 months to get the amenities open, but I'm getting over that now! The location is really nice - steps away from the Riverside Parkway - beautiful! You can take the bike path all the way down to Chelsea Piers and the southern tip of Manhattan! Pier 1 and the Boat Basin aren't far either if you are looking for some fun and food by the Hudson! There is also a park/playground in front of the building which is great if you have kids or dogs. We are also only a couple of blocks away from Lincoln Center and Columbus Circle, Upper West side restaurants (between 72-85 on Columbus/Broadway/Amersterdam) and Hells Kitchen. I would recommend this apartment building in a heartbeat! I am loving my NYC life here. read more

Don't you dare park your car next to the building they will spray dirty, muddy water on your vehicle and when you ask them to clean it they send you to 311 the Management SUCKS they couldn't pay me to live in that place. Just HORRIBLE read more

We've been living here for nearly 6 months and love it so far. We're living in one of the 1 bedroom unit. What we particularly love: -Amazing doormen: They are genuinely nice and helpful. I thought it's only because it's closer to holiday times, but now it's the Spring the doormen are still so nice and helpful. -Great gym: I don't use the gym as often as I should but my husband uses it almost every day. The pictures don't lie. He particularly loves the swimming pool and the golf simulator. We haven't yet tried the bowling alley but that's an option too -Overall great apartment unit: Washer/Dryer in unit, great quality kitchen appliances, nothing has broken down yet and things work really well -Quiet: We're worried that being in Manhattan would be really noisy, but the location is quite removed from the hustle & bustle. It's amazingly quiet for Manhattan standards. Walls are thick and we never have noise problems. Not so nice: -It's quite a walk to the train. There's an underground shortcut to 66th street so that's nice. There's a shuttle in the morning that I take regularly, but I never can catch the PM shuttle! It's been so cold here that walking is a pain. Should be better in warmer weather. -Not that many food options within a 5-min walk. But plenty of options within a 15-minute walk (72nd st & Columbus circle). We found that we cooked way more as a result. -No direct access point to RIverside Park yet. I believe they're working on this. read more

We've lived here for over a year now and have absolutely loved it! (We moved in right when construction was being completed.) 1. The apartments - They're beautiful and clean, with top notch appliances and great light (as far as we know). Whenever there are issues (like lightbulbs going out or clogged drains), maintenance people come by same day and fix asap! This is totally new for us - in past apartments, we always had to wait days and days.. Everyone here is super responsive. The apartments are also pretty soundproof, we rarely hear noise from other units. 2. The people - Everyone who works here is amazing! Doormen, maintenance guys, management, people in the gym. Really feels like a home, compared to other places we've lived where they felt like dorms. Neighbors are also friendly and respectful. 3. Pets - We recently got a puppy and the building is dog friendly! Took very little time to get all the paperwork sorted out and had no problem at all. 4. The gym - Most beautiful gym I've ever seen. Sad to say we don't use it near-enough, but it has all state of the art equipment, a great pool, a golf simulator..our friends love to visit :) 5. Transportation - When we signed our lease, we weren't even aware that it's a straight shot to the 66th street 1 train (via the Lincoln center underground)! In the morning I take the shuttle either to 72nd or 59th, so it's pretty convenient to get to different subway lines on the west side. It's also pretty easy to catch cabs and then go downtown via the west side highway. Like another reviewer noted, there aren't very many restaurants. In the summer there's the Pier 70 cafe, otherwise you do need to walk over to Columbus Circle or the 70's, though seamless has some pretty good options. It does make you exercise more to get to food, or cook more, which can be a good thing. In the winter, it can get pretty cold and windy, but the lovely spring, summer, and fall on the water make it all worth it for us and our puppy. All in all, so far a great experience. read more

My clients were from Chile ( I am a real estate broker in Manhattan) , Dyanna showed the apartments on several occasions,.re-showed the apartments when their parents came to town. She explained the entire process and really went to bat for my clients to get them everything they asked for. She made the application and lease signing easy and was engaging, professional and personable throughout. You can tell a lot about a building and a landlord by how they treat the brokers who bring in potential renters-and they are among my favorite. This building is wonderful. I've been here 14 months. Tenants range from older working professionals (like me), families with children, and young singles and couples. People often say hello to one another in the elevators and hallways. The front-desk staff is superb; they always manage to smile and greet when tenants come and go from the building. Maintenance requests are completed promptly; I recently asked for a paint touch-up on my hall wall, and it was done four hours later. The building superintendent is quite professional in demeanor and his example is reflected in the respectful and accommodating manner in which residents are treated by building staff. Everything in the building is perfectly maintained -- there are no stains, scuffs, or unpolished services anywhere. The staff of the leasing office are the friendliest and most helpful I have met; their attitude and openness had a huge impact on my decision to rent here. I came back to look at the building and apartments several times and was always treated in a relaxed, friendly, and professional manner. The gym is a religious experience to anyone who values exercise. It is well-maintained, with every kind of equipment one could imagine. A beautiful pool, excellent and competent trainers, and a friendly, accommodating staff. There is also a spa with some of the finest massage therapists I have encountered. Work out, get a massage, and ride the elevator upstairs -- it works for me at the end of a long week. I consider the Ashley my home, not the place where I rent an apartment. I can't imagine living anywhere else. read more

I have been living here since it was built 3 years ago and now starting my 4th year at Ashley. The staff are very responsive and friendly, there is nothing I can complain or feel unhappy about. I feel that the management did a good job at hiring the right people here. The building was sold to Windsor recently from the previous owner Rose associates but there is absolutely no impact on the tenants. In fact Windsor is more responsive to our feedback and seek to improve the community living all the time. The GYM is a stunner, I got sold the moment I walked into the gym! I took a star away as there is a new construction right behind the building now and at times it get a little noisy but tolerable so far. Also the free shuttle bus service is limited to weekdays only, I wish they can start offering every hourly on weekend. read more

I've been here for 10 months now and can't believe how wonderful the experience has been. I just signed on for another two years. I echo the raves of the other reviewers especially regarding maintenance. As a 65 year old single woman, I feel 100% safe and secure in this building. I rely on the morning shuttle and think it's a great amenity. I've made use of the courtyard, the library and the kids' playroom. In fact, when I was looking at different buildings, my daughter who was accompanying me said, "If you move here, we (she and her 2 year old daughter) will visit you ALL the time!" And she has. This place has a lot to offer, even though it's a bit far afield from the activity on Broadway. read more

Been living here for 3 years and sadly, we need to move out because we now need a 2 bedroom and it's out of our price range. If i could live here for as long as i live in NYC, i would be very happy, The building is immaculate and apartment finishes are top notch. The concierge, doormen, porters and maintenance staff are first class. The leasing office is helpful and so nice. The amenities are about the best you will ever find in the city. A gym that rivals an equinox, a beautiful courtyard, golf simulator, bowling alleys, regulation basketball court, squash court, rock climbing wall and a kidville in the lobby of the building. Apartments here cost more than but i will say that you get what you pay for. If you can afford it, live here. you will not regret a minute of it. read more

I had lived there for a year and recently moved out. To be fair, the facilities are stunning, but I have a very bad move-out experience. I rented two separate apartments and kept them in similar conditions when I was moving out. However, I was charged for additional cleaning for one of them. I don't know why this happened without prior notice or consultation. I strongly recommend one to schedule a formal check-out inspection and put down everything on paper, to better protect yourself. Also, I had 2 sets of keys and returned all of them to the concierge during check-out. But the leasing office kept claiming received only 1 set. Please get a written receipt for anything you return. I was charged for $30 dollars for each set (only $10 dollars when I requested for duplication). The experience of staying there was great, but I sincerely hope the management will be fair and more professional. I had a really bad move-out experience and hopefully you will never encounter one. Please take extra and all possible measures to better protect yourself. Don't just rely on the management. Once you move out, they don't really talk to you. read more
